Yes the guy in the morning it's very quiet and he's a little short. But the food Far and Away makes up for any shortcomings. Would definitely recommend this place

Should have read reviews before ordering. Slow service. Ordered small cappuccino, it was basically 1 sip of coffee. Small cappuccino should have some coffee besides foam, not foam only...... over all a disappointment
Hidden at Essex street market. Good place for quick breakfast ...
The food was not as expected. I ordered a pastrami egg bagel and I only received one half piece of pastrami. Seems like the employees did not know what they were doing. Wouldn t recommend this restaurant.
Top notch artisan bagels. Very artisan. So artisan I couldn't take it. Almost as artisan as the psat.
Wildly disappointing gluten free meal. I ordered their chicken pesto with fresh mozzarella and roasted red pepper on cauliflower bread for $12.99 - it also prompted for an additional, required cheese choice. Upon arrival, my friend and I were confused as to what could be in the tiny packaging and it turned out to be the chicken pesto lunch. It was just the cauliflower bread with pesto and chicken, no red pepper or cheese (required or otherwise.) A heads up for anyone else looking for a GF meal, this is not it. For comparison, my friend ordered a regular bagel for $12.95 and you can see the side by side for yourself.
The everything bagel could have been ok, I guess. The young woman working there was on her phone the whole time, and barely toasted it, so it wasn't that good. There was no one else in line. Just don't think there's much care put in here.
Good for a quick breakfast. The bagels are adequate; their baked goods and pastries are better. The staff range from very friendly to a bit surly but the service is usually fine.
Love Davidovich s bagels! Even better is how to utilize the YourLocal app to prevent waste and help a sustainable market!
Davidovich Bakery located inside Essex Market is a small bagel and coffee shop with delicious pumpernickel and onion bagels. They taste good and are great to grab on the go in the area. The staff is very sweet and friendly and I like that it's a tiny shop with quick and speedy service.
Never buy a Croissant/Pain au Chocolat... Expensive and so bad....
Love the bagels at this place! Always fresh and delicious. Also love the cappuccino. Friendly service and always made right.
Terrible customer service. Rude and seemingly annoyed to have to work. Very unprofessional complaining about being tired while 'helping' customers.
Bagels are very good. The morning staff guy is very unfriendly. Too bad. A smile and learning to speak up might help. All other booths in this facility have very friendly people.
Staff was very friendly as always, will definitely come back again.
Bagels are generally under-toasted. A bit chaotic, typically have to ask for your order again after placing, then it isn't particularly accurate.
The whole staff has a disgusting disposition with terrible customer service. The owner should be ashamed of his or her representation
It takes 15 Munites to put an egg on a bagel with no line.
Great black and white cookies!! A little crispy like they should be!
Top notch artisan bagels. Very artisan. So artisan I couldn't take it. Almost as artisan as the psat.
Bagel and croissant were good quality and fresh. Bagel with lox was delicious, coffee tasted a little old but did the trick.
Simple and tasty with several options. Fresh bagel within the Essex Market.
Davidovich Bakery serves the most fresh and delicious homemade bagels of the city. You can find a variety of flavors such as cinnamon raisin, blueberries, whole wheat, garlic and more. Muffins are also in their menu. My family and I love this place!! Customer service is outstanding!
The bagels are great but the two young women who work there act like they want to be anywhere but there. They can barely muster a hello or thank you. Ordered a toasted sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese, went upstairs to eat and found that the bagel probably spent five seconds in the toaster and had plain, not scallion, cream cheese. Last visit.
The bagel with nutella was lathered generously. The everything bagel with egg and cheese breakfast combo that I ordered was delicious and fresh. Warning though: the breakfast combo comes with a free tea or coffee. The workers would not volunteer this information to you. When asking for the coffee after paying for the meal, I was told that I should've told her that before paying for the order. This has tainted my experience with the bakery, which results in the 3 star review.
Pastrami lox really hit the spot. Very friendly people who gave us samples to try while we waited.
I came to Davidovich to buy Tea February 26, 2019. The Server at Davidovich is usually a kind Young Man or a Pleasant Lady. On this day A "Negative 'Angry' Woman" was at the Davidovich Counter. I dropped $.50 in "Tip Box" and asked for a "bit of hot water" to warm up Tea. She fished out My Tip and Shoved My $.50 toward Me! She stated "Water Without a Cup is a Dollar!! Please Train This Rude Woman on Proper Etiquette to Customers!!!
Nothing spectacular, but decent bagels and friendly staff
The new staff is horrible. Burnt bagels and next to no cream cheese.
Really a great place for all kinds of bagels - got a bagel+coffee combo with the YourLocal app, which is a great app to prevents food waste. The staff is always smiling and very helpful!
We are able to get Davidovich Bagels by the bag (frozen) in Austin, TX and we love them! We swing by Dia's, the speciality grocery store that carries them, about twice a month to pick up the Sourdough bagels. Thanks for making such amazing bagels AND shipping them down here to us, Davidovich!
Davidovich is the bagel + schmear joint in Essex Market. it's on the Essex / Broome side.
the space is fairly big. huge display of bagels, baked goods (cakes, muffins, and more), and more. there are some stools and ledge tables. it's fairly clean area despite high-foot traffic.
got the rugelach (3 for $2.75). apricot, raspberry, and chocolate are the flavor choices. the rugelach was fairly average. the chocolate and apricot barely had any flavor and the raspberry had a little bit more flavor than the other two. overall, if you want a treat i'd get something else.
the service is fast and friendly.
overall, Davidovich is a decent option but there's so much good food in Essex Market to explore. still it's a solid option but that's about it.
drops mic cuz i am living the carb life
We visit here after visiting the tenement The museum across the street. The bakery is in the front of the hotel, it is quaint and inviting a nice place to grab a bite to eat. We tried the lux with capers on the pumperNickel bagel with cream cheese. It was fantastic and fresh! Hit the spot!
Sooo, I ve been getting coffee at davidovich for at least for years at the Essex st market, one day I order a coffee from the same barista ?, bagelmaker that is ordered from for years, so one day I order a coffee under his breath he says we don t have coffee, okay, thinking they d just run out I took it in stride, the next day I go back order a coffee, he says we don t have coffee so I say do just not have coffee anymore? He says no, just espresso? WHAT, why did it take me that much effort to get that tiny bit of information from an establishment that advertises having COFFEE. Better training, a better grasp on how to communicate, a communications 101 course would be great.
Ordered from Davidovich Bakery through DoorDash. It was a fairly decent sized order, with one breakfast entree.

What I received:
2 - Chocolate Rugelach
2 - Chocolate Twist
3 - Plain Croissants
1 - Cinnamon Brioche
1 - Apple Cinnamon Muffin
1 - Cheese Danish
They did not call me to tell me they were out of just about everything I had originally ordered. They subbed the French Toast with the Cinnamon Brioche and Apple Cinnamon Muffin, which didn't equal what I paid for the French Toast. I contacted DoorDash so that I could get a refund, which ended up totaling to almost $30 of the $35 that I paid for the whole order. No one wanted the Cinnamon Brioche, Muffin, or the Plain Croissants, so those ended up being wasted. If they had contacted me, I would've happily asked for substitutions that I knew would be eaten.
While the Chocolate Rugelach and Chocolate Twists I *did* receive from my order were very moist, soft, and tasty, this experience left me with a sour feeling. It's kind of like that Forrest Gump saying, "You never know what you're gonna get;" since when you order, you won't know what they have in stock at the time, and what they're going to sub out without telling you.
In addition to the non-stock items and unwanted substitutions, it took over an hour for me to get my order. The Dasher had to wait a pretty long time for them to "finish preparing" my order, which I don't understand since everything is already baked and they literally just pick the items and toss them into the paper bag. Also, I'm only on Mulberry & Grand.
I don't think I'll be ordering from them again.
I am mightily impressed with this establishment and its crew. Delicious food served by super nice ladies . In What seems like a very well-managed business.
I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.
I asked for everything with capers and scallion cream cheese and got the smallest lump of cream cheese with literally one cut of scallion on one side and 8 capers. Really hating this inconsistency and disappointment.
Great selection, nice staff and fairly priced baked good. Tried a half dozen bagels getting two each of the cinnamon raisin, blueberry and everything bagels. Bagels are a decent size, but after eating it for breakfast, it was too dense and gave me an upset stomach for most of the day.
Friendly staff. Good pastries. Good omelettes until 1 pm.
Ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese. Got it with plain cream cheese. That's not a big deal. The bagel itself was very forgettable. No reason to go here, unless the line at Kossar's is too long. May go back to try something else one day.
We were served on Sunday August 18th 2019. The woman taking the order was super rude and cranky. I saw her treating her coworker (kind guy) the same way.
We ordered omelettes. I am not exaggerating when i tell you Mc Donals would have been better quality. Disgusting mix of overcooked eggs with a handful of turkey on the side. I wish I had taken a picture.
Not going back there ever.
Absolutely horrible experience, incompetent workers and complete lack of customer service. I placed an order on seamless and received a call that they no longer had salad and that I would not be able to be refunded but must exchange for cookies or pastries. I was forced to contact seamless customer service for a refund for the salad. In the order I specifically asked for tofu scallion spread, as I am dairy intolerant and also specified what type of bagel and the ingredients. I received a plain bagel with cream cheese when I asked for everything bagel toasted and scooped of the dough.
I contacted the vendor explaining that the order I received was incorrect and that I am dairy intolerant. He took down my original order (everything bagel toasted, scooped of the dough with lox, scallion tofu spread and tomato). I received the second attempted delivery and they sent me yet another bagel with cream cheese, not toasted or scooped up! I mean you must be incompetent to screw this up.
Management, please train your staff or hire new, competent workers as your ingredients are not bad but your workers screw the whole experience up. Now I m down 30 dollars with no salad and two bagels I cannot eat as I am intolerant to Dairy. Also, the OJ is 100% not fresh squeezed...The whole thing seems like a fraud...I notice you have similar bad reviews regarding your staff and schiesty behavior. Can t you take a hint?
We went, Sunday about 2 pm, for a late lunch. We specifically went for the gluten free bagel options. The counter person was nice, I asked what type of GF bagels they offered. The reply, "Plain & Everything".
I ordered a GF Everything bagel, turkey, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella and mustard
What I got was, GF plain bagel, no mozzarella (which is paid for), turkey, lettuce, tomato and mustard.
When I returned the sandwich I was told, "we only had plain GF, so that's what we gave you." And then when I discovered there was no mozzarella, I was handed a containers of shredded mozzarella, for a sandwich.
I mean, visit if you dare, but be aware, high on attitude not as much on customer service.
Cold cuts were fresh though and GF bagel, was good and hot; they have to warm it up.
I really love this little pastry / bagel shop. The offer a delicious selection of bagels and croissants and delicious varieties of cream cheese. There s a small selection of little deserts like macaroons and so on that my kiddos just love for an after school special treat.
In all my experiences with them the staff are friendly. This is In a great location. I find myself in Essex Market just about everyday.
