I give it 5-5 because the food was really good. The service is amazing there very happy to work. Its very clean. It was fast. People say that when u order and it doesn't take a while to get it like first it to cook in 15-20 minutes to cook its not good and think that its not fully cooked but when I went with my mom if was fast, but the food was amazing and it was cooked perfectly done. When we went a soldier came in to eat. The place is western.

Sign says..." please wait to be seated"...we waited and waited...employees walking by, no acknowledgement...a simple, "Hello, we will be right with you",would have been nice...NOTHING!...so we walked out the front door and went to Patty's...where we were greeted immediately.

This place is a great place to relax and enjoy a awesome breakfast or lunch. Even if something is not on the menu, they make it.

My husband ordered a burger and house fries and the burger contained a long piece of stringy hair. We then contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager who was unfriendly; and did not seem to really care offered us 50% off our next order. We are very upset, we eat there all the time and don't feel like the situation was rectified.

This is one of my favorite places they have amazing service, the food is really good, great portions, super priced. Breakfast is available all day, and they serve a proper cup of tea with beautiful teacups and saucer and a pot of hot water, and offer a full wooden box of teabags to choose from.
This is a family owned and run business and the service is super fast and friendly.

This is the best place for breakfast, I would recommend the breakfast plate, it has home fries, peppers,onions,gravy,eggs any style,bacon,sausage and toast all for around $11. That was the best thing I have ever had. I Definitely will be coming back

My wife and I went to the gate way grill this morning for breakfast....what a BIG disappointment I ordered cripy home fries and when plate arrived they were completely burnt...coffee was cold and was charged 4.00 for a small dish with 2 prices of pineapple and 2 peice of melon..not happy

Everything about the Gateway Grille is first class. The wait staff is friendly & courteous and best of all the food is excellent, ample proportions, at a reasonable price.

SO DELICIOUS. Live out in Rochester and 1000% worth the drive. Best eggs Benedict I have ever had (I don't even like eggs that much), great prices, perfect portions.

Excellent service. Great coffee. Had the maple chipotle egg sandwich on ciabatta and hubby had Fred egg with roasted garlic tomatoes cheese on Italian bread. Both were flavorful and fabulous. Home fries were also spectacular. They serve a local-made hot sauce from Naples, sweet and spicy!

People very polite.. good service.. reasonable prices.. food well prepared.. great atmosphere.. clean .. well decorated.. all welcome. We are lucky to have this restaurant in Canandaigua.

Great place for lunch. Service was great and the food was very good.

Food was expensive and you don't get very much. Took 13 minutes to get coffee. Only 1 person was friendly. Will not be a repeat customer

Visited twice with my wife. Both times we had excellent breakfasts. Service also very good. Outside dining was wonderful. Recommend the breakfast plate. Best breakfast in Canandaigua!

Good chicken and very nice atmosphere however the waitress seemed like she wasn't happy serving us and the food took a while to be made. Otherwise great.

Omelette was small for the price, dry and cold. Home fries and potato cakes, cold and tasteless. Over cooked and cold egg Benedict. Empty glasses of water and coffee for a while. Forgot my toast, then asked me what type and still never served it. Not busy with at least four servers. Gave us the wrong bill. Knew we weren't happy but no apology given at all. I could of spent my $26 better. Lesson learned. It was my first experience and last.

The maple bacon waffles were really tasty, the waitresses friendly - but not wearing masks. :'(
We wore ours in and during the short wait for food (the guy who brought our silverware and water had one on), but once our food arrived we ate quickly and were out in ten minutes. Probably won't go back until COVID conditions subside.
On the plus side, the food really was good, and sharing a full stack we still couldn't eat all of it! Would have been five stars if not for the mask issue. :-(

The pancakes are large, but I always get a full stack out of principle

I ve never had a good experience here, unfortunately. We were served home fries that were completely black and charred, and were never asked if our food was okay or got any drink refill before hastily receiving the check. We ve given this place many chances and have been disappointed every single time with both the service and the food.

First time here for me, second time for my husband. We waited about 40 minutes after ordering to get our food and my waffle was soggy from the soggy, once frozen strawberries that were sitting in the middle of it. He ran out of water during our wait and no one checked on us and he never got a refill. The one older waitress seemed flustered or stressed and wasn't very nice to the younger girls working there. The overall atmosphere was nice otherwise.

Comfortable eating environment with good food and service

Great place to go for breakfast. Lots of good choices on the menu. The biscuit and gravy were delicious and the home fries were cooked perfectly! Would definitely come here again and recommend highly to friends!

I think I speak for a majority of us here at the hospital when we say THANK YOU for bringing us breakfast!!! I cannot express enough how thankful we are for the food, and for how amazing it is!! Your breakfast sandwich is one of the most delicious breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! I will definitely be visiting your restaurant again!

I love this place so much. I went here when I first moved to Canandaigua, and go whenever I can. The food is always delicious and I've never had any issue with the staff as they are always friendly. The food is super affordable and I've never spent over 25 before tip for me and my boyfriend.
If you're looking for a good breakfast or lunch and you like the diner atmosphere, definitely check this place out. I couldn't recommend it enough.
