Got right in. The doctor was so caring and kind and good at what he does. On return visit to remove stitches had a different doctor but was again treated the same with no waiting. Iwas treated with respect and kindness.

I have visited this office on many occasions. I am overly Impressed with my experience each time. The office staff is efficient and knowledgeable and the doctors care has been wonderful. Urgent care visits can often be hard but each time the team at Blue Rock has made it a great experience. I highly recommend this location.
charged $300 for a tetanus shot and a band-aid put on a cut. Apparently $199 of it was for an "extensive new patient evaluation" which consisted of my describing how I cut my finger open. No stitches. Just a band aid and a shot at $300....
It's a walk in clinic.... isn't everyone going to be a "new patient"
After 21 days of waiting to hear back about test results, we had to call back and were told, "Well, I thought I called you." Obviously their patients are not a priority here. Record-keeping isn't a priority either, as when we called, we had to recount everything that we had told the doctor previously.
Although the symptoms described several possible problems, only one test was performed for one specific condition. We were invited to return for another test - of course, so we could pay again.
Like another reviewer's experience, the doctor didn't explain what he would do before anything happened. He invited the nurse in and then explained the procedure to her step-by-step, as she apparently had no experience.
Again, like other reviewers have said, the doctor was very condescending, arrogant, and judgmental.
The nurse at the front desk didn't know whether or not our insurance would be accepted, and didn't know how to find out.
As we were leaving, the doctor followed us out to the lobby and began talking to the nurse at the front desk. He started explaining our entire visit IN THE LOBBY, in a loud enough voice that we could hear him clearly as we walked out the door.
There is a huge lack of respect for patient privacy; a lack of respect, and a lack of professionalism. DO NOT COME HERE.
I don t go to the doctors office very often.. when I do it s because my issue is much worse than a common cold or sore throat. I ve been here 3 times and seen 3 different doctors over the course of 2.5 years and I always leave with them telling me what I have is common and that if it gets worse in a few days to call for a prescription. What kind of doctor wants you to get worse... aren t doctors supposed to prevent things from getting worse?!? They have told me this every time I ve visited without doing any sort of proper testing. With a fever and a sore throat preventing you from speaking or breathing, you should be doing saline washes and throat swabs. These people just look at you, no throat swabs, no washes, and then they imply that it s all in your head. It s like saying, Let s just wait until you have mono, then I will treat you. I ve had it with them and I will not be returning.
I had a positive experience here. The receptionists didn't seem super excited to be there, but I really liked the PA, Dr. Burton, that I got to see. He was very personable and helpful and I didn't feel like he was just trying to rich me out of there. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Terrible experience. Went in with heart palpitations and shallow breathing and after giving the nurse my history and info, Dr Baker came in, listened to my heart for ten seconds and then asked if I could just come back later since it was close to closing time. Totally unprofessional, disinterested, and acted annoyed and impatient when I asked for an EKG. Would never recommend this urgent care to anyone.
Girls at front desk are very nice and friendly. Very kind to my four year old before receiving her MRI helping her pick a movie and giving candy to calm nerves. Recommend.
Wrong diagnosis. Told them what was wrong, they tested for many things, told them the mono test would come back positive because I just got over it, I called 4 days later for them to tell me it was mono. Few days later I was in the hospital for 3 days and now currently on blood thinners and seeing every specialist possible to figure things out. Never have I been to such a terrible urgent care in my life!
My son had pneumonia and could not breath, I was unsure if I should take him to the ER or if they would be able to help him. They were fast and efficient with the examination and the x-rays and were so kind to us.
They seem to care more about advertising than good medical care or public safety. They sued the city to be able to put a large digital sign against newer city ordinances, and continue to proceed to place a very large, very bright sign that will decrease safety at a very busy intersection.
This clinic is AWESOME! I went there first several years ago for after-hours care but because of their amazing service I switched to them as my primary care. They've taken better care of me than any other provider I've seen, and the staff is seriously wonderful. I can't recommend them enough!
Recently had a MRI with fluoroscopy. They explained what was going to happen and took great care of me through the process. Very helpful and friendly staff. Loved the sweet roll! Thank you!
I love coming here. It's a clean beautiful facility with friendly, knowledgable staff and very reasonable rates. I've come here on several occasions and been treated by a variety of their Doctors and Nurses. Every time I have received five star service; they were professional, kind and informative. I highly recommend.
I have never waited very long in the WAITING ROOM. The staff are always kind, the Doctors and NP's always seem to know more about what they are doing than any other place I have been!
The Dr. Jay Barton and their medical staff Audrey and Carson are awesome people! They are very helpful, kind and attentive and doesn t rush when discussing about your health concerns. Thank you so very much!
I ve been coming here for several years, and never had any problems, the current staff, and Sherilee in particular are very professional, and clearly care about their patients. This is maybe the second review I have ever posted for a company, and they deserve it. Thanks
Avoid this clinic at all costs. It was a thirty minute wait to see a nurse and another hour wait to see the doctor when there were no other patients. Once the doctor finally did arrive he looked at my ears (I had an ear infection) and was promptly treated to a "Hey nurses come here and check this out" and then having the two nurses on duty also look at my ears and comment on the problem all the while in a great deal of pain. Then in order to effectively treat the condition, the ears needed to be cleaned, but the job was only partially done and I was told that I would have to finish the job myself. To top it off, they charged me for surgery when all they did was flush water through my ears and then told to finish it myself. They treated the problem but if they were just going to leave it half finished they should have just given me the prescription and told me how to take care of it instead of charging me for an incomplete job.
Do not go here! I had a terrible experience. I was seen by the nurse practioner, Jay Barton, whom I do not recommend! He misdiagnosed me because he did not want to do the necessary tests. Maybe it was because it was close to closing time and he wanted to go home. His careless attitude about my symptoms caused me a lot more pain than necessary and made me feel helpless. I later sought second opinions elsewhere and it turns out it was my appendix. I am sure there are other good doctors at this clinic, but I wanted to warn others about Mr. Jay Barton. My story is below: I came for severe abdominal pain and fatigue which had been reoccurring . Mr. Barton asked me about my symptoms and felt my stomach. He specifically said "you probably just have the stomach flu or a bug going around". I told him this pain happened frequently and it did not feel like the flu, it was more intense pain. He did not take my pain seriously and seemed to just brush me off. I asked if we could at least do some tests since this pain is abnormal (and extreme!) however it seemed like that was a nuisance to him. After some persistence on my end, a nurse or tech came in and tried to draw my blood but poked me so many times that I just asked to leave. Fast forward a year later --and after many more abdominal attacks-- I end up in the ER needing an emergency appendectomy! I had chronic appendicitis and Mr. Jay Barton tried to brush it off as the stomach flu because he couldn't be bothered to run some tests. This could have resulted in much more adverse effects had I only seen Mr. Barton. I am glad I got the help I needed elsewhere. Please do not waste your time with this nurse practioner. Unprofessional and insincere.
I see the PA Sherilee here regularly and she s great. Dr Gibby is the main doctor and I like him as well. I can t say enough about Sherilee though, she s great.
I was having really bad period cramps and needed to see someone. I was in and out within a half hour, service was good, but feel that I wasn't given a very good medical diagnosis. Didn't really tell me what was wrong with me- just gave me a percription and got me out of there
I think I'll be going elsewhere. I came in a couple times for reoccurring horrible pain and sores in my mouth and was told it was just a virus, and given a steroid to help with pain. I ended up giving whatever I had to my boyfriend, who went to his doctor and was told it was tonsillitis, and was given medication to help treat it. It cleared up for him in just a few days. I also came in for a UTI, which I was given an antibiotic for, but it came back two weeks later. I went to a different doctor who said the antibiotic I was on was not strong enough to get rid of all the bacteria, and I'm now on an antibiotic specifically for uti's.
The front desk staff and the nurses are very helpful and friendly each time I've gone in. The PA's are very competent and it's easy to tell that they truly care about the patient's health and well-being. I'm impressed with the quality of care I've received. I've referred my friends to this clinic, and they also have had great experiences.
We were visiting from Southern California when my bad cold got worse 2 days before Thanksgiving . I went to urgent care and saw Dr. Baker. He was thorough, knowledgeable and obviously an experienced physician. I would recommend him to anyone.
During my visit I spent 5 minutes with the doctor who said I had a viral infection and would recover in a few days. No tests were run or anything like that, but the price was still high for being a new patient. When I first got the bill I was confused about the price, but after going into the clinic personally, I gained understanding about the first time patient fee. The head of billing explained it to me. She was helpful and was happy to enlighten me on how the billing works.
I went in earlier this week to get my ear cleaned because of some wax build up. I ve had this done before a few times so I m familiar with the correct process of how to do this. Unfortunately, the doctor started carelessly and harshly shoving a tool in my ear without using a otoscope. Yes, it is as painful as it sounds.
The doctor used way too much force and resulted in the tool being covered in blood after he was done. He acted like it was normal and was wondering why I was flinching so much. I was in enough pain to cause me to just tell the doctor that he fixed the wax problem and that I ll head out. So I left the clinic with me ear canal bleeding steadily.
I wake the next morning with my pillow covered in blood and in quite a bit of pain. I need to go spend more money with a specialist now to get all the blood out of my ear canal and fingers crossed there is no permanent damage.
I ve been to this clinic before so it was drastically different then my previous experience.
I have been attending Blue Rock for over 2 years and have always have had excellent care from all there staff. Currently I see Sherilee regularly and she has always given such exceptional care and attention. I have also seen each of the Dr. Gibbys at different times and they are all such professional and knowledgeable. Great place!
Blue Rock is by far the best medical facility I have ever taken my children. Dr. Baker is fabulous. So attentive and concerned for their well being. When I brought my daughter home and had some further questions, I called and Dr. Baker immediately came to the phone to answer my questions and give me direction on what to do at that point. I even got a follow up call from our sweet nurse, Cherylee, after the weekend to make sure my daughter was doing okay. Both of my kids, ages 6 and 8, love Doctor Baker and the whole staff, which is really amazing. We ve never had to wait long, and have always gotten outstanding service, from beginning to end. Five big stars for Blue Rock. I wouldn t go anywhere else after receiving such outstanding care.
We got in quickly and Dr. George Baker was absolutely outstanding. My daughter needed a lot of facial stitches and he did an amazing job. We are so grateful we went here!
Blue Rock ROCKS! I'm so grateful for Blue Rock Medical, they have literally saved my life! I'm so impressed with the quality and attentiveness of everyone who works there. I am always well taken care of and I feel like I have true advocates for my health and wellness! Thank you!
Blue Rock is a modern, state of the art facility. It felt very clean and comfortable and the staff was top notch. I was greeted by friendly receptionists who were very helpful. 5 star experience
After reading some of these "Supposed" post, it felt as if I am not even a patient at the same Blue Rock Medical/Urgent care facility as these people! And honestly I would not even classify their "comments" as accurate and/or appropriate. Many comments appeared Biased, and even "scripted." After my first visit to Blue Rock (which was exceptional!) I went out of my way to recommend Blue Rock to friends and family as an absolutely extraordinary medical/urgent care facility, all whom have been extremely satisfied! I have been in the medical field for over fifteen years and have observed many Doctors and facilities that do not provide even the basic care and concern. Totally opposite of Blue Rock! As my personal experience goes, I will start with saying Dr. Baker literally saved my life! My health had been deteriorating, I was brushed off by my previous Dr. hospitals, and specialist, all of whom basically said nothing was wrong and brushed me off. At which time I was put in touch with George Baker. He sat down and took the time to find out ALL of my history. it was through his patience, care and concern that I was diagnosed soon after with cancer. Because it was found in early stages, I was able to have surgery and treatments. Because of Doc Baker, I am a survivor! He continues to treat me as if I'm his only patient of the day, he never brush me off, ignores my symptoms and actually listens to what I tell him! With my recent history and the need for continuous monitoring and follow-up care, its so important for me to see the "best" Which is absolutely no other but, Blue Rock Clinic/Urgent Care! Their entire staff from receptionist, to medical assistant and Drs care like no-other!!!
Here I was a second class citizen, demeaned, and mistreated as I had very unique and dire circumstance. The doctor that walked out to hear my story does not care for patients or others. I will be reporting him and am so grateful there is still a handful of understanding, selfless people that still exist in the world.
I wish the very worst to all staff members, except the Phlebotomist. I can t wait to see you all in hell after a long and fruitless pursuit.
Edit: I will be reporting to the state medical board for negligence. The way I handled my anxiety attack should not be posted publicly.
The office itself was very hot. They never answer the phone. No one is there to check you in until youve been waiting for 10+ minutes. First, my husband had to explain his symptoms to the nurse, then to 2 students and then to the doctor. It was a lot of waiting for a not very busy office. Not very impressed.
Had an awesome experience, Dr Jay Barton was great and very through, I took may 2 year old boy and he was very detailed at checking to what was going with my baby. So glad I took hi there. I highly recommend this urgent care and the staff is pretty friendly too , Anna and Nancy
I have a history of severe eye problems. When I had a trauma to my eye, I rushed to Blue Rock because of the weakness of my eyes. The PA didn't use a light to examine my eye, and literally spent all of 3 seconds (no joke) looking at my eye. After a sarcastic remark about my quick reaction to seek medical attention after something he felt was harmless, he prescribed me an antibiotic. I got to my car, called my ophthalmologist, over the phone he diagnosed something completely different, sent a different prescription in, and my eye was better in a couple of days. The PA was sarcastic, condescending, and patronizing. To top it all off, they keep sending me bills to pay more, even though I payed my copay and have met my deductible for the year. The Riverwoods clinic is only a little bit further up the road, it's worth the drive!
I visited the clinic while on a trip. I was promptly seen and Dr. Davis was patient and considerate, and gave me good advice. It was a positive experience.
I went to the clinic with a strange illness that we were never able to diagnose. I explained that my mother, who is a nurse at the LDS Hospital in SLC, was previously concerned about meningitis and a few other illnesses. Even though I assured him that I wasn't concerned about meningitis, he took the time to thoroughly explain why this concern was ridiculous. He was condescending and arrogant in his explanations.
After explaining to the Doctor that I also did NOT have strep throat, indicating the differences in the symptoms between strep and what I had, the Doctor still ran a $57 strep test.
He was apparently proficient enough to patronize his patients' concerns, but smooth enough to "check just in case" when it means a profit for him.
These folks are just looking to make a buck, there are plenty of other clinics near here. The Riverwoods Urgent Care is only a mile north.
God awful service, incorrect billing, and lots of misdiagnosis. Only go here if you are literally bleeding out in the parking lot, otherwise drive on to a real hospital or any other urgent care facility.
Edit 9/28/2019: Blue Rock's attempt to act like they care about feedback below is laughable. The behavior of their onsite staff makes it clear that they do not care. I stand by my previous recommendations.
I went in a couple weeks ago and saw Baker, the PA. He was so nice and friendly, and helped me with my problem right away. I was in and out in 20 minutes with a prescription. I even was able to call back later and ask him a couple questions I had. Would recommend!
PA George Baker has always been very caring,he listens and treats me with respect. Nurse Cherly is awesome. I had swimmers ear . I went to the e.r and the Dr. There said I was fine he could see my eardrum. I went the next day to see Baker and he said there's no way that Dr. Saw your eardrum and you aren't in pain. Then he and nurse Cherly used a machine that uses warm water to clean hard wax for 40 min. I was prescribed a ear drop and pain medicine. I have been his patient for almost 2 years now. He and Cheryl are the best in the staff that do care and do an excellent job every time. Call before hand to see if they are there. The other PA I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
Do not go to this clinic. The people leaving good reviews obviously got lucky. The physician assistants here are very uncaring, unorganized, and completely scatterbrained. I came here for ongoing stomach pain and other symptoms which had me feeling like I was slowly dying. I was examined by one of the physician assistants who determined I was positive for Murphy's sign. I had an ultrasound done that showed nothing abnormal. The results of the ultrasound were printed out and given to me. Written on the ultrasound results it was stated that I had been negative for Murphy's sign. I also had blood work done which was normal. I was told that I probably had acid reflux even though I had no symptoms of this. I gave up on this place and finally ended up seeing a real doctor who diagnosed me with Gallbladder disease. I had my gallbladder removed and the symptoms I am now feeling back to normal.
Don t bother going here. I used to be a regular customer but they ve lost my business. Blue rock medical doesn t care about customers, the community or following local laws. Not only has the care gone downhill, they built a Las Vegas style sign that is not only hideous, its illegal since it doesn t follow the zoning laws.
I was very disappointed by the service there. After being taken into the examination room and my vitals were taken down, I was forgotten for an hour. I know it was a fluke, but that should never happen. The equipment they used for me was faulty, but they found a different solution. In total I was there for 4 hours and what probably should have been max an hour and a half.
Literally just called and the reception ist cut me off before I could finish my sentence. Doctor's aren't bad but the front desk has always been rude little biddys, who are they hiring down there?
I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences here since I started coming 3+ years ago. The office staff have been friendly and helpful. The clinicians/providers have been professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable/thoughtful in their approach to my care.
The doctor did a fantastic job at cleaning out my road rash from cycling. Really went above and beyond to clean it up. Assistants were super friendly and fun. I had a good time.
