Nightmare!

Nightmare!
Worst customer service at any of resorts we have ever visited. It happened to us once before earlier this year but my husband convinced me he wanted to go there for his birthday/anniversary celebration mid September and give them another shot. In no time they managed to ruin our visit because they lack the commitment to basic guidelines of customer service.
We ve spent thousands of dollars at this resort but only managed to have really bad experiences. They do not treat their guest equally and they chose who will get the privilege of a better experience depending how you look.
The saddest part about this is that they tried to apologizing for the first experience but did not seem sincere and no action was taken to correct the problem because we experienced the same issues again but this time no apologies at all.
We ve been told by other resorts including some of the same chain that this resorts in particular has serious issues with customer service but I will let you make your own judgment this is only our experience.

Dinner at the restaurant of the Garza Blanca hotel was delicious. They offered traditional mexican cuisine, and service was very good. We stayed at Hotel Mousai, one of the newer hotels in the resort, where our stay was excellent. Staff are all very friendly and ready to help at all times.

We concluded our stay at Garza Blanca and I wanted to summarize beyond my live comments previously.

The Good:
* Food is unusually good for Mexico. The steakhouse is great, mexican and italian restaurants are good but not as good as the steakhouse.
* Bartenders are pretty good
* Room was beautiful
* Kids Club (child care) was free and very well done. Kids loved it.
* Staff was always friendly and I think always wanted to do their jobs well
* Spa has good massages
* Service at the upper pool is very good
* Everything is very well-maintained

The Bad:
* Stood us up at the airport (arranged transfer did not show up) and never apologized properly
* Sent moldy / rusted condiments and previously opened single-serve condiments and did not acknowledge it (see attached photo)
* Had to change rooms because they are doing construction on a new tower and one of the buildings (Tower 5) is too loud to stay in
* Super inconsistent with food. For example, at the steak restaurant, my 4 year old had a great, normal hot dog one night and then the next night, the hot dog had been deep fried. Happened other places too - a steak sandwich that was overflowing with meet one day had literally 1/4 as much the next day.
* Service at the lower pool is terrible
* Hours at the pool bars are terrible
* Mattresses are not great. Not bad but not what higher-end resorts usually have

SUMMARY:
It is a very good resort broadly but feels like a big missed opportunity. A good manager could improve the resort substantially in short time.

ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW:

I am still here and will update if it changes, but not impressed so far. The room is beautiful but we spent 45 minutes at the airport trying to find their transfer shuttle only to find they did not actually send it. Apparently they thought we were arriving the day after our reservation started. When I mentioned this at reception (having gotten other transportation) they said they would investigate. The transport manager then called to apologize which included him saying "but at least everything worked out, right!" No effort to correct it, no explanation. Really hoping this improves.

Update: I can tell this is going to be entertaining. We ordered room service and got 4 generally tasty dishes. The entertainment was when I opened the little bottle of mayo they brought as a condiment and discovered there was either rust from the lid or mold inside it. That's not great, but these things happen, right? The problem is I reach for another jar only to discover that 4 of the remaining 7 jars of various condiments are used. Meaning they have just brought single-serve sauces that have been open and growing bacteria for god knows how long. Now I am just hoping that the jars my kids opened and used were sealed properly...

UPDATED: The live blogging apparently continues. This is clearly going to be a roller-coaster. Yesterday we had dinner at the high-end Mexican restaurant on site and it was truly phenomenal food. Everyone loved every dish - very impressive. Unfortunately that is followed by trying to have breakfast today and everyone yelling "what did you say?" to each other over the noise of the massive construction next door.

No matter how many good things I can say about this resort, it is all canceled out by the fact that there were 122 of us there for my son's wedding and the number of items stolen from us there was unbelievable. The short list is 2 Calvin Klein shirts, 4 pairs of shoes, a gold necklace, apple watch, several other misc pieces of clothing and some bath/make-up products. Being that we visit various resorts in Mexico at least twice per year, this is the first time ever we all encountered theft, let alone at this level. The hotel showed minimal concern and nothing has ever been done about this. None of the guests will return to this resort because of this issue there. Very sad and unfortunate situation. Lastly, for an all-inclusive hotel, the fridge is bare and be careful ordering a bottle of champagne. The additional 600.00 bill was a real buzz kill!

Beautiful Hotel and rooms. Secluded beach. Friendly staff. The rooms were huge! Water was calm and warm. Beautiful sunsets. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. There was a van that took us into downtown Puerto Vallarta. Always felt safe there.

There isn't enough space to describe this place. It's a must see, stay and play. The roof top bar and saltwater infinity pool is the bomb. Model Especial all day with pool menu that takes the cake. We were totally isolated during this crazy time in the world, and no better place to recuperate from life.

No entertainment, after dinner there s nothing to do, last day all inclusive finishes at 12:00 we decided to eat lunch and leave, but they said we have to pay, and nobody informed us in advance. We ve never experienced such a thing. We will not go here again.

It is a Great Hotel, with all the first-class services, impressive, since its rooms are the best, they hold competitions in its 3 pools and also many activities within the Hotel such as
Mexican Night, Dances and a very good restaurant
I love.

Ocean View. Who does not like to fall asleep and wake up to the waves crashing against the shore? The sunsets are ridiculous, the resort is lush, the restaurants fabulous and the location is south of downtown PV but only minutes by car or public bus. And the Mousai...oh my! Classy, elegant after dark lounge.
