I stayed at the Garza Blanca Resort for a wedding....

I stayed at the Garza Blanca Resort for a wedding.

I attempted to book over the phone using the number on the website. I was rerouted several times and hung up on - twice. I ended up booking online. Closer to my stay, I attempted to book travel from the airport. I was rerouted and hung up on, again. I tried to email the customer service representative that emailed me after I booked my stay. Days went by without a reply. I ended up getting an Uber (way cheaper, FYI - all you have to do is walk over a pedestrian bridge).

When I got to the hotel, I was told my reservation was for the next day, with zero remorse or help. I was already running late for a wedding rehearsal dinner. They knew I was with the wedding party. Nonetheless, I showed my reservation I made online (with the correct dates) and was able to get into my room.

During my stay, I was called to the front desk to pay again because they had charged me in pesos, not dollars.

Lastly, and the absolute worse thing that happened:

I was disrespected, assaulted and threatened by a staff member who did not believe that I was a guest at the resort. He would not let me pick up my things and threatened to call the police on me. It was the most humiliating experience of my life. My friend's family saw the entire thing happen - completely embarrassing. To make matters worse - today, I get a call from the resort asking about my stay. She didn't care about my issues, even though she asked me how my stay was. She proceeded to try to sell me a package to Mosai, the sister hotel. I asked her to speak to a manger and she would not let me. She proceeded to ask me again if I wanted to buy a package and I said, I did not want to patronize a business that traumatized me. I wanted to speak to a manager and apprehend the employee. She in turn defended the employee by stating to me - maybe he had a bad day - to which I replied, it is not my job to ensure staff members at a hotel have a good day or bad day, it is literally his job to ensure I have a good day. She hung up on me mid-sentence.

This hotel is trash. Do not go. Stay at the Hyatt.

Scammers. We were lied to, pressured, and insulted. If someone asks you to visit, don't.....Unless you like people being fake-nice to you just to get into your pockets. Also, the man trying to sell us the bullsh*t, was extremely rude when I originally said no. This place should stop building, or change their attitudes and sales tactics.

Such a fantastic place! Special thanks to Carlos from the butler service and Monica from the kids club who made our trip one of the best to Mexico we've ever had. The food is top notch. Every meal we had on our 10 day stay was perfectly prepared and amazingly delicious. The rooms are clean, modern and have amazing views. The service staff at every level work tirelessly to ensure guests are happy.

The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. There is a man-made barrier they have which protects swimmers from large waves and keeps the water perfectly clear. We saw lots of colorful fish just off the beach.

We brought our 5 and 9 year olds and they had constant fun. No shortage of things going on to keep them entertained. Kids club is small but there is enough going on that they didn't want to leave.

If I had to say one thing I found frustrating, it is the constant need to sign a slip of paper for every drink we ordered. Unlike a typical all inclusive, there is a lot of paperwork to fill out so you can't just wonder off when youre done.

We were bombarded by Garza Blanca s representative...

We were bombarded by Garza Blanca s representative Fernando promptly after arriving in Puerto Vallarta. After 8 hours of travel we got our suitcases and headed out the airport doors to find our Costco rep and get to our hotel. All we said was Costco and we were ushered over to one of the white desks. This is where the scam began:
- First they asked to see our reservation number
- Then they said a driver would be here in 15 mins.
- Then the pushiest, most desperate sales pitch started. They were trying to sell us tours all in EXCHANGE for going to breakfast at Garza Blanca for the timeshare pitch
- Pirate dinner starting at $300 for 2 people was offered for $50
- Free tequila tour
- Free downtown tour
- ATVs for $60 (which are originally $69)

This guy, Fernando, went ON and ON and wouldn t let us leave. After 25 mins my patience was gone, we were jet lagged and something felt wrong and I just wanted to get to our hotel and rum drinks. Fernando kept saying relax relax telling me I was stressed out. He said give him $60 towards all of the tours and then meet him outside our hotel across the street at 10:00AM tomorrow. He then asked us to fill out a form that said our age, phone number, job, promised we were employed and that we are American. Spidey senses on fire I began to observe the 3 women behind him who could see my frustration and one offered to escort us to our driver. As we are escorted outside we find our Gray Line Costco rep and the first thing they said was you didn t give those guys any money right? If you did they have to give it back. Then looking behind the rep I see the escort girl staring at us through the window. Our rep continued to explain that those are NOT legit tour providers and that they make money off of bringing people to breakfast at other hotels. Their promises are not backed by any fulfillment and they are in general scam artists who know how to manipulate tourists.

I have never been to Puerto Vallarta(my Mexico adventures only started and ended with Cancun), my advice is GO OUTSIDE the airport to your actual trip representative and avoid the slime balls inside who just want to give you breakfast in exchange for a tour or some of your money. The fact that this hotel sends people to the airport to prey on tired, jet lagged, American families and couples to me is a big, desperate red flag. Do not engage with these sales people and ask them to confirm they are from your agency or your hotel!

Thank you hotel Garza Blanca for starting our first trip to Puerto Vallarta off in an extremely stressful, shady way. Breakfast will never be worth this treatment.

My hubby swept me away here as a 40th birthday surprise! This is definitely by far the best resort we have vacationed at. They have endless pools, our room had a huge tub that over looked the ocean and the mountains. The food is on point. Lots if seafood to chose from which I loved. My only wish is that they had entertainment on the resort at night. Like maybe a beach party, dancing and music something to do while you are up..after about 10pm its pretty dead on the resort but still an excellent place to stay

Most amazing vacation ever!!! My husband and I had fear about travel to Mexico. That was totally unfounded.
The people of Puerto Vallarta and especially the staff at Graza Blanca are so kind so loving and go out of their way to make the stay special. You wont want to leave if you come here.
The blanca blue restaurant on the resort is fabulous and food is elegant and over the top delicious.
The spa with the hydrotherapy and the massage were the Best of many massages I have had.
My husband " hates" to "Waste" money on frivolous things and he agrees wholeheartedly that it was worth every dime of the cost.
The atmosphere at this resort is so relaxing with breathtaking views with seemingly all the rooms with ocean views.
Make it your next vacation. You wont be sorry!

This place is above reproach. Everything is perfect. Nicest room I've ever stayed in. Best all-inclusive food I have ever had. Staff is amazing, polite, and professional.

Love it so much I inquired on purchasing one of their penthouses.

I was invited to visit Garza Blanca on the Riviera...

I was invited to visit Garza Blanca on the Riviera Maya when in Playa Del Carmen by a woman called Delores. She told me of the 5-diamond resorts and invited me to enjoy breakfast while learning about the resort. In return she offered me tickets for four for $50 each to Xel Ha and $40 each to Playa Mia. I went to Garza Blanca where I saw the showroom for the newest property under construction. I endured three hours of high pressure sales tactics. And I paid $360 for tickets to Xel Ha and Playa Mia. Delores misrepresented the pickup times and places for the attractions and switched their dates. We finally made it to Xel Ha, but she cancelled our Playa Mia reservation, promising to return our $160. Alas that never happened. If the first face of Garza Blanca has this much trouble following through, what else is wrong with the company? I am exceedingly unhappy to have been ripped off the $160, but am grateful for the lesson NOT to invest in the bigger, more expensive scam of Garza Blanca membership scheme.

Went there for time share presentation which includes free breakfast. I ended up not buying it. Very well maintained hotel and nicely designed rooms. Great view of the ocean and beach. Location is far from downtown main attractions. If the price of the room is OK with you, you will not be disappointed.
