I have yet to receive the correct order from Grynn & Barrett. I have called 4 times now and I'm not sure I'll get my order in time for the holidays.
I ordered a package of my son at Silas Deane Middle School that contained a texted image. On 9/21, Sean came home with his pictures. I called the studio to inquire about my text image. I was promised the image 2 to 3 days later - a week later I still do not have the image. I sat on hold until I was automatically but in a generic mailbox twice today. Called a third time and was promised my image by 5:00. As I write this, I still do not have my image. Yesterday my daughter came home with her package and again no text imagine. When I asked to the manager, I was hung up on. Worse service ever. I have not received what I ordered. The manager has my number but never called back-can't wait for tomorrow.
Last year, I had the same run around! Received 1 picture but not the other. Multiple calls required to resolve the issue.
They did a very nice job taking my son's picture. It was quick and easy. The place looked clean, there was social distancing and everyone wore masks.
They neglected to print my photo from prom on our keychains so they said they would print them out and give them to the teacher running prom. I went to his room two weeks later after they had been printed and checked if they had mine and they never printed mine. They missed many other couples as well so I called them two days later and when I proceeded to call them the first time someone picked up I gave my name, address, phone number, and they said they would mail it to me. Then I went on vacation and came back (two weeks after my original call) and still no keychain. I called back and they said I never gave them anything and they've been waiting on me to call to send my stuff. Seems like 0 communication and took me 3 months to get a keychain.
It's been about 3 weeks and still haven't gotten pictures from my prom. This is annoying, especially when my mom's asking where the hell they are. Sorry, couldn't tell ya.
Good quality...but a HS school and sports monopoly with high prices. Why G&B?
I like them alot. Everyone that I have met has been really nice. I think they try very hard. They have AMAZING planners too!!!!!
Had a great experience with the photographer. I had a 30 minute session and he gave a little extra because of all the changing of my outfits and fixing my hair. They do have multiple changing rooms and have hair supplies so that if you need any last minute changes, you can. The location wasn't hard to find and was great.
After paying an astronomical amount for pictures last year of my 1st grader, I was absolutely astonished by the misrepresentation of their CD package. It was led to believe you purchased all the backgrounds offered in the packet sent home and all the one's offered on their website, I was wrong... Dead wrong and extremely disappointed. Then upon receiving the "professional" photograph of my very photogenic little girl I was mortified by the way they accepted and allowed her to pose. She scrunched her shoulders up over her ears, wasn't sitting up straight, and when I called to request a retake I was told I couldn't and the photographer's let them pose however they want and offer no PROFESSIONAL direction to capture the best portrait possible. For the amount of money spent ($79 because we also got the god awful backpack)on a horrible pose and a quarter of the backgrounds expected, the package was not valued at $79. Getting my pictures taken all throughout school I distinctly remember the direction every photographer gave throughout the whole 12 years. Now here we are a year after, picture time again, with now 2 children attending the school I am debating just getting them done locally. I coached both girls all morning on what to make sure not to do... What once brought me so much excitement, I now live with anxiety until the pictures arrive... The product I received last year and the total disregard of the level of professionalism by the customer service representative and denial of retakes leave me pretty certain I'll have another disappointing experience and will no longer get the pictures done by the school if they continue to use this company. How in the world the school outsources almost 2 hours away is beyond me. They get one more chance this year, but I'd be damned if I have even 1 come back unprofessional.... My best word of advice ~ If going with the CD pick one of the backgrounds online so it's at least a little worth it and do the photographer's job and coach your children on the way to school for young one's....
My daughters pictures for school were horrible, terrible and completely unacceptable. I brought her back to the studio for retakes and they were better because I kept on them to keep taking it until it was acceptable (we are dealing with a kindergartner). Well I just received the class picture and they used the original picture in here class picture and not the retake. What makes this place think if I didn t think the picture was acceptable for myself or my family that I wanted it in the class picture going home with 20+ kids. The reason it takes so long to get the class picture is so retakes can be done so I m beyond upset. They will be getting a call in the morning.
Let's see... 10 kids brought $10 each for a 1 group picture that took 3 month to produce, and it came out unprofessional, blurry, untrimmed, low quality, and not edited with any pro software. I take better pictures with my smartphone. Question: how is this place is still in business???

The studio was clean..Covid precautions taken and the staff was very helpful. We were only in there maybe 10 minutes for school pictures so I cannot speak to their work.
If I could give this company a negative star review I would. Their packages are horrendous. First you have to pay an astronomical sitting fee. That doesn t include one single picture. Not one. Then you get your package price for the actual photos. Literally the cheapest package is 69.00 for ONE 8x10 and 8 wallets. So forget the photos.... you want a USB? One image is 59.00. One. Let me tell you their photography skills at best are mediocre. This studio is nothing more than a cookie cutter run of the mill place. If our school didn t require our kids to have their senior photos there I d run like hell. This company should be ashamed of them selves. We had our other daughters senior pics done with a local photographer before we moved into this area. Her pictures were stunning and we got ALL of our photographs on a USB INCLUDED IN THE FLAT FEE. Her fee for the photos in the session we re right around the same price I paid for the session alone with Grynn and Barrett. Ugh. Go elsewhere if you can. This company should be ashamed.
PAID $10 EXTRA FOR A RETOUCHING OF MY CHILD'S PHOTO ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE PHOTO STILL HAS DARK CIRCLES UNDER THE EYES AND A RED PIMPLE UNDER THE NOSE. UPON CALLING THE COMPANY, I LEARNED THAT THE $10 FEE IS FOR A DIGITAL RETOUCH DONE BY THE SOFTWARE THAT IS NOT CAPABLE OF RETOUCHING EVERYTHING BUT FOR AN EXTRA $15, THEY WILL MANUALLY GO IN AND RETOUCH THE PHOTO. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF INFO OFFERED INITIALLY. I MIGHT HAVE SKIPPED THE DIGITAL RETOUCH AND PAID $15 FOR A HUMAN RETOUCH OF THE PHOTO BUT NOT FOR BOTH. ONE STAR FOR THEIR LACK OF EXPLANATION.
I got my photo taken through my school, and the paper was flimsy and thin. The photo had my eyes closed and bad lighting. Also, all my friends had a bad photos. It was clear they did not put much time/thought into the photos.
They give you the option to choose from multiple nice backgrounds even if you select the economic package (school portraits). I really liked that, it's not like that with other photography companies.
Horrible at getting back to parents who order pictures and do not receive them.
They never return calls and impossible to deal with as a result. The fact they are still in business is a mystery to me.
G & B have been the photographers for my kids school for years. Pictures come out great and they have great customer service.
I don't understand why Newington Public Schools continued using this company. The service is horrible, their website doesn't work and when I call to order pictures, they charge late fees which is outrageously high. I never received any notification to order forms or deadlines. This happens every year. Every year I've become more and more frustrated dealing with this them.
My daughter's school took pictures on 10/4 and "they should be delivered to the school next week". After being told they only usually take 3-4 weeks (total of 5 weeks for pictures)
