Very rich collection, I recommend to visit it starting from the top floor, which presents the oldest works, with many artists, even Italians, starting from the 1300s. Free admission on Mondays from 12 to 16.

You can see many works of famous painters. I went around fast, so I would like to see it slowly next time.

Very nice collection, we enjoyed the visit a lot. 3-4 hours should be enough to see almost all pieces. There is a free entrance on mondays between 12 and 16. It became one of our favorite museums!

Absolutely not to be underestimated, both for the imposing size (it took us 3 hours to visit the whole permanent collection), both for the enormous quality of the works on display, and finally for the variety of styles on display that allow us to retrace 500 years of history pictorial art. You should not miss the BALENCIAGA display. Awesome mixture of the finest Spanish art collection by Greco's, Goya, and so many others with the best "haute couture" by Cristobal Balenciaga in a memorable trip trough his creations . Colors, textures, designs that have influenced every way in which we dress now.

It is an essential Museum. There are stages of art that you can only contemplate there.
Its temporary exhibitions are also magnificent.

Beautiful museum, clean and good lighting, my family took a guide and explained everything very well. Many tables of different references must be delayed for several days if they want to know it well. To return at any time

Interesting collection of Impressionist and early 20th Century art

We had only a few hours in passing through Madrid and chose to visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum that we had not seen before.

We limited our viewing to the Impressionist and post-impressionist paintings and saw some of perhaps lesser known works of Sisley, Corot, van Gogh, Cezanne, Munch, Hopper, and others including works by women of the Russian avant-garde. The entire collection of the museum includes more than a thousand items, some dating to the 13th Century.

Worth a visit.

Dedicated museum of a private collection with all the most important periods of art history. Small and very charming and with great curation. The store, then, is not even talked about. Loved it, would go back and recommend it.

It is not as big as the meadow but it has a good collection of paintings. Good mix of different times.

One of the best museums in the city (with permission from El Prado).
This has opted for a more modern painting, although we should not give up the more traditional painting.
The building, with a spectacular lobby, is wonderful.
In addition to the permanent collection, they usually have temporary exhibitions that are really interesting.
If you want a break, in the garden of the entrance, they have a cafeteria that you will surely love.

If you like to visit the museums. This is an indispensable one in your agenda. It's not that big. Sometimes they overwhelm those huge museums, no matter how fond of art you are. This and not above is in a privileged location to enjoy the restaurants, bars, coffee shops around.

Very nice museum with a magnificent permanent collection and, today, a temporary exhibition dedicated to the designer "Balenciaga and Spanish painting". Unfortunately, you have the right to photograph the dresses but not the paintings under pain of being quickly sermonized by a not-so-friendly cerber. Annoying.

Great collection of uplifting art. Very little gloomy religious stuff but quite a bit of fun, inventive and intriguing art.

Excellent museum showing 700 years of art. Not excessive like El Prado, but still enough of different eras where you still get the big picture. I got lucky and came on the last day of a special Balthus exhibit.

We arrived at 19:30 at the cinema and they did not let us in. The cause of going so fair has been the demonstration of independentistas but we arrived just when they had just closed the doors.

Before the remodeling it was amazing, but now it's spectacular.
