As a non teacher this is a great place to work. They provide lesson plans, all the materials and a trainer who's there to help and answer any questions. The other teachers are the best part about the job. Easy to make friends. They play soccer (except they call it football because a lot of Englishmen) once to twice a week, have trivia nights, and last year we're taken on a cruise along the river. The cons are the lack of control you have in your teaching .No problem for me but if you cine from a teaching background it maybe. Also you have A LOT of students that you only see once a week so it's hard to remember names and really get to know them .

My grandchildren come to study here and it is really fun. My grandchildren like to study at Fun Club. The foreign teachers here teach well, so they are good at English. Love Fun
I currently work here and have done for over two years now. It's a fantastic company to work for and a great experience for new teachers or old alike.
For me it was an introduction to teaching English from previously teaching environmental conservation.
Watching these adorably cute Thai kids learn English through games and songs is amazing. Most of the time they don't even realise they're learning, they're so busy having fun and trying to win stars for their team.
Fun language supply everything, give you all the training and support you need, and are generally awesome at all times. Love you guys.
I did 2 terms with FL and loved them both! The staff are great, the bosses are always available and approachable! The lessons are pre planned, transport to and from schools is provided. Most importantly you'll make friends instantly!
My grandchildren came to study here. Like the method of teaching and learning here. It's fun, friendly. Tchercher is a foreigner. Saw the development of the grandchildren much better Dare to talk to Tchercher more. There may be disadvantages that are not in the mall. But overall impressive.
I m happy to be working @FunL. for a second year! It s definitely a fun environment to be in working with people from all over and having a great team of trainers always there to help! Another great bonus is that after a day of teaching at a school; you don t have to worry about creating lessons for the next day as the company provides us with planned out lessons! -this really helps, thanks Fun Language!
I worked for Fun Language off and on for over 2 years. Living in Thailand for over 3 years, I realized Thai companies all have good and bad to them when comparing to back home. The goal is just to have more good than bad. You have to look at this country and appreciate the great things and try to avoid/ignore the bad.
I can honestly say that Fun Language being my first teaching job was a great choice for a few reasons.
1. They gave me fully developed detailed lesson plans and all resources which made things really easy 2. I worked in the Bangkok office where they have over 40 foreign teachers, so I made lots of friends quickly 3. The trainers they have are all really nice and helped me a ton, even though I wasn t a good teacher in the early stages
A few things to know that I didn t realize right away, but should have paid better attention to initially.
1. You get 4 sick days, try not to use them because if you don t use them they pay you an extra days pay for each one at the end of your contract. 2. Try not to call in sick because in your pay is a 2k baht sick bonus, if you call in sick you only get 40k for the month. I get it because it s Bangkok and easy to want to take a day off, but the months that I did call in sick I was always mad at myself when I got 40k instead of 42k on my paycheck. 3. They take a deposit out of your paycheck of 5% of your pay because of all the materials they give you. I didn t like it at first, but when I finished I got all of it back because I didn t lose anything. Was nice to get all the money back at the end before I left the country.
The biggest thing I miss is seeing all the foreign teachers every day, it was always a good time hanging out at the office and after work. The biggest thing I don t miss is waking up early in the morning, I hated the days I had early starts. The days with 8:30 starts were ok, but 7am starts are crazy to me.
If you're new to teaching or new teaching in a different country this is the job for you, but if you have 4+ years of experience teaching, you can get a lot more money and work less other places so hold out for something different. You don't really need experience for this company because they train you, so they don't pay anything extra for experience.
I currently work for Fun Language and I've been here for 3 years.
It's a great place to work, especially if you are a new teacher, or if you have taught before and want to broaden your experience. You'll have the opportunity to teach different ages (3-15 years old) and there is a lot of help for new teachers.
It's also a great atmosphere for meeting like-minded people and living in Bangkok makes it easy to travel to other parts of Asia.
Study since the course started. Now reading Reading 3 course, I have a lot of skills in listening, speaking very well. The phonic sound makes me like English more.
I think it's great, especially for new teachers. You get over a week of training before getting into the classroom on your own. The teaching staff are well supported throughout the term.
The curriculum and lesson plans are written for you and are simple to follow.
In my opinion the environment is very good, we have staff night's out, pub quizzes, karaoke nights, after work 5 a side football. This is because it is a hub of foreigners who have arrived in Thailand and are all away from home and keen to enjoy Bangkok.
I recommend it, especially for new or inexperienced teachers.
This is my 3rd semester working at Fun Language. has hard days and easy days, that is the nature of education work. But I can say that the support was very good, and the training helped me a lot. I really look and see how much I have improved as a teacher from when I first began. It is very rewarding through helping the little kids and it can be a real blast in the classroom.
I will say that I found it easy to meet people and make friends because it has a friendly office and lots of staff. I had a great time going on night's out with them and going to excursions like Quad Biking and River Cruises.
You have to put effort in but it has been worthwhile.
I was an employee here. It's NOT a good place to work. You won't get your work permit. You will make crap pay. You'll loose a TON of money from being sick. You'll have to deal with an unorganized mess. 5 teaching hours a day, essentially back to back lessons, sometimes requiring you to move to the students classroom. Then you'll waste 2 hours a day in a taxi, during which you can't get any work done due to the road and driving conditions in Thailand. AND you get back to the office and are expected to do X,Y, & Z even though you have already put in 8+ hours that day. I was having to work on Saturday, during my free time to accomplish their task. Oh yeah btw doing X, Y, & Z is essentially busy work and serves no real purpose. In addition, some of the Thai staff are quite rude. You'll find yourself in a battle with your Thai teacher for classroom control on occasion (most of the Thai Teachers are good, just a few bad apples) and you don't get paid during the summer break. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT WORK HERE. My new job is SO MUCH BETTER. They take advantage of foreigners.
It was a really great introduction to teaching, throws you into the classroom after some good training. But there was a real big support network behind you, especially the friends I made at the office and at school.
It can be hard work sometimes, teaching kids is like that, most of the time rewarding and fun, sometimes quite tiring keeping those little ones entertained.
If you're willing to work hard you can also play hard, offering the opportunity to do touristy stuff, go for nights out and try new experiences in Thailand with a big group of new friends.
I worked here for a few years. I thought it was great for teachers as everything was prepared for you. Sometimes getting flashcards together can take a while but it's nice having other people in the office with you to help. The social aspects were good for me. They were a major reason I enjoyed the job as I sometimes find it hard getting to know people.
It really helped me get more confident at teaching as all the technical stuff was done for me. So I could just concentrate on being entertaining and getting things across to the kids.
This company is fraudulent and there are many issues, I worked here for 8 months and was one of many dissatisfied employees. Some issues with the company include. No work permit Inaccurate salary (promised 42000) every month got under 40000 No sick days and docked pay if sick (which is inevitable when working with children) Costs of running the business passed onto employees Work required outside of hours (with no pay) Poor management and lack of leadership Bias, subjection and unreasonable end of contract tests No pay in holidays (makes yearly pay l ess than 33000 per month) Will look for ways to get money out of you (eg 50 baht for lost flashcard when it costs less than half that to make) Poor culture and overall negative work environment
Overall I would not recommend this company to anybody, teachers ar e just an avenue to make for money for a purely profit orientated company. If considering taking employment here take the effort to find a company or school who do not falsify information because once you sign the contract you will be used. One positive is that is that is a good way to meet other foreign teachers and it does give you a good introduction to the Thai education system, but other than that avoid this company at all costs.
Fun place to work, I loved being in the classroom and playing games with the kids. Easy to follow lesson plans and curriculum. Can get tiring when you do loads of Kindergarten and I preferred Prathom, but it was nice seeing the same kids each week and getting to know them better.
The social aspect was ideal for me, being in a new country and starting off with a load of other people in the same boat made making friends easy.
Had some good nights out after work and some perfect movie nights after a tough day of saying 'a, a, apple' 200 times!
Would recommend for people happy to follow a plan, if you want to go off script and do things your own way you might not like it as much, perfect for me as I was brand new to teaching and arrived straight from a TEFL course into Bangkok.
