We had good service and the pie was nice. Our two little girls (4 and 2-years of age) were given excellent attention from our server. He brought them coloring menus and complimented them on their coloring. It was like being served by family. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Good place good food the waitress need to get out more a little braze
Great, fast service and the waitress was pleasant and helpful. I got the breakfast country fried steak and not only was it wonderful, but it was as big as a dinner plate and hand made. My wife got the fish and chips and said it was very tasty. My sister in law got the Mexican skillet and loved it. Add in tasty pancakes and rye bread and it was a wonderful breakfast for us. Becky was our server and was fantastic! Who cares about decoration when you have food and service like this.
Waitress was very attentive. Food was really good and cooked to perfection, prices reasonable.
It was okay. Fair pricing but food is really bland and fish is greasy.
Could've easily been a 5 star experience. I went there unsure because I had heard a lot of rumors about their food being sketchy. But when I got my frontier burger, I was pleasantly surprised, very large and tastier than even hickory. I left there very happy and if this story ended there, it'd be a 5 star review. Well, within an hour of me getting home, my bowels started to feel pretty cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Needless to say, I was on the toilet for the majority of the night and still am making frequent runs to my now destroyed bathroom. I have never had food poisoning before until now. My negative review come from the fact that the place was kind of dirty with the cups and silverware, which I don't mind much, I lived in Brazil for two years, I've seen much worse. But when something that's dirty makes me sick, that's where I have an issue. You gotta make sure your stuff is cleaner than that people. Please, for the innocent bowels out there, do it for them.
Their breakfast gets five stars! It is always great and the service is exceptional.
I would give their lunch and dinner menu three stars.
Food was great. Service was a bit slow and we could have used more water. We asked for more napkins
Fun place with great food to catch up with friends.
Friendly and relaxed environment. I had the Lemon Pepper Trout served with Baked Potato and Rice Pilaf.
Very spacious and more room for large groups.
We also enjoyed the Coconut pie.
Not a ton of people go here but its super good!! Ive been a few times and loved it every time! Their pies are awesone and food is great!
We loved the options available and enjoy this restaurant as a breakfast place. I'm sure they would be suitable for lunch as well but we've only been for breakfast so far. The portions were huge, particularly for the price and everything tasted great.
Food is very low quality. The breakfast food is inedible. If you go here just order pie. It seems that is the only thing they know how to make.
Hope you are hungry,. Very good
Food
Food was good, but restaurant should be renamed, because the pies were not the best quality.
The service, food, and layout is overall one of the best place in Rexburg to eat at! I really enjoy their breakfast!
Love the family friendly atmosphere and the pies! It's very homey feeling, so you don't feel the typical hustle and bustle of other restaurants.
I have eaten here more than twice and this place is dirty! They gave me a dirty glass that smelt awful, asked for a new glass when it came out it had pink lipstick marks on the rim. The food quality is poor, don't eat here until they start cleaning their dishes and producing quality food.
Dark lighting, musty smell, menu needs updating, but as the name suggests, the pie is good!
The best Rueben in town, hands down. And one of the best I have ever had. The potato chips made in house are great too. Definitely coming again.
I love coming here! The staff is so friendly and kind (Deanna is our favorite server!). My favorite thing is the smothered chicken, we usually go on Wednesday so we can get the delicious cheddar broccoli as a side AND oh my goodness CORNBREAD is too die for!
I have come here on busy nights and on slow ones and I understand what its like to be a server, overall they do a great job on any type of night.
Great food
Some of the best breakfast I have had in a long time.
friendly staff and great food just dont get the steak very bad steak cook everything alse is delicious
Good place! Nice staff, short wait time. The sign looks a little like "Frontier Dies"- I guess they aren't wrong :)
Old and rustic, but the food is really good! Our waiter found the perfect distance between ignoring and smothering us.
They dont open until 7 a.m. site says earlier. Immediately when you walk thru the door you are overwhelmed with an unflattering odor, kinda smells like chemicals but not cleaning chemicals. Took me a minute to realize it is whatever they treat the wood with. It almost ruined my appetite. Our waitress wasn't too friendly, brought us kiddy menus with activity sheets on them, but no crayons. Served our drinks and proceeded taking our order, while neglecting to give our small children straws for their drinks( in cups with lids). My omelette was tasty. Menu doesn't give option for choice of bread, omelettes come with a biscuit. Well I was thankful that I ordered a side of gravy for the mandatory biscuit, because it was the absolutely most dry, dense, un biscuit like bisquit I'd ever tasted. It was hard on the outside(not burned though) and cold in the middle, which led me to believe it was a carryover from a previous day's batch, merely microwaved. Prices were reasonable. Fed a family of 6 for around $52. If I ever visit Rexburg again I will definitely not return to Frontier Pies.
Very Unsatisfied!! Things started out just fine, service was good and we were seated immediately. I ordered a salad and when it came the hard boiled egg was green, there was a lot of old lettuce in the salad, and they stick a slice of cheap American cheese on top. They also put the bottom wedge of Romain lettuce in the salad. No one eats that part and people definitely shouldn t sell it. After picking out all the bad pieces I only had a fourth of my salad left. I don t know what type of restaurant could consider that okay.
I had a breakfast skillet, and it was out of this world good. Super great about substituting sides, we were incredibly cared for.
Not the best restaurant in town. I've seen the food they put out and give on to-go orders and it's not always the best. I only order basic foods that I can easily make sure they aren't tainted or moldy.
My peanut butter pie was pretty much peanut flavored mucus.
Very good food is great. Definitly coming here again
Frontier pies is an old timey restaurant that has good food and even better pies
Always nice to eat in a restaurant where people are genuinely friendly and conversational. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
The food was decent, but the restaurant was very dirty. The carpet was sticky and disgusting, and is being cleaning.
The steak kabobs with potatoes, onion & green pepper was very bland & the steak (supposedly medium) was burnt. The jumbleberry pie was not mixed completely, therefore there were chunks of starch and the pie shell was thick and oily. Would not recommend.
I ordered through door dash and ended up paying more money for far less food than we normally get going in. Also some things were missing. Not planning on getting frontier pies again.
I really like the food at Frontier Pies. The service can be hit and miss, but I suppose that is true of most restaurants. I do wish they would spend a little money and do some repairs/upgrades. The booth we sat in was torn up the carpet is as old the antique decorations and they really need to do some dusting!
Amazing breakfast. My opinion. The best place to get breakfast in town.
Such a good place to eat!! The servers were very friendly and the manager even came out to see how we were doing!! I love the pork chops!! My wife and I had a great time at this place!! Totally coming back!
As I type this I have been sitting in this both for 1 hour with no food in sight. I had to get up and find a waiter to take my order after waiting almost 20 minutes to be seen. I would get up and leave, but my conscience won t let me leave without paying. Absolutely inattentive service.
Homestyle food in a place that smells like Grandma's.
Great food. Came out fairly quickly. Getting our waitress to come back for a box took a while but the style of the restaurant is old fashioned and I think meant not to be rushed. Will be returning hungry for more.
I had the Breakfast Buffet. Everything I had was excellent. Not over or under cooked.
The longhorn tips dinner was delicious! I asked for medium doneness and it was closer to well-done, but the flavors were excellent with the onions, peppers and potatoes. We also took home a cherry cheesecake pie that was very nice.
Great food, wonderful service! The prices are reasonable as well.
Decent and affordable. Country atmosphere. Good pie.
Frontier Pies is a great place to order pies from for special occasions, or just to enjoy yourself. As far as enjoying a meal there it is a decent place. The service was pretty good, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food was alright; tasteful, but nothing that I will be craving in the future.
We were on vacation and so excited to be able to stop and get some dinner sadly to say it is nothing like it used to be. The food is very poor, some of it hard as a rock, not very much flavor. This is heartbreaking for us because we used to love it when it was in Utah but they have definitely gone downhill... Save your money!
I have fond memories of Frontier Pies from childhood. Which is why I went in hopes of reliving them. Unfortunately the food was a big miss. The chili tasted pretty old or from a can. Veggies were fresh. But in the Navajo taco you really need everything to taste good. Thankfully, the pies are still pretty awesome.
Went here for my wife's & mine 2nd anniversary! Jade was our server, she was very helpful as we ordered & is an asset to this restaurant! Would highly recommend Frontier Pies!
Decent food, needed more seasoning, the pie was just okay. Friendly service
Environment was really cool, food was amazing and the service was good. Just a bit of a clutter on the table.. We will come again!
Classis restaurant with great food. The service was prompt and friendly.
Interesting pioneer themed restaurant. The food is pretty good. My wife loves that they serve your soda beverages in a quart jar.
Had biscuits and gravy, with eggs and sausage. Was cold, and was not impressed at all. I would rather have IHOP. Just bad.
Salmon wasn't very good and came out luke warm, so I mentioned it and the chef came out and apologized and asked if he could do something to make up for it, ended up giving us free pie. Server was really great though. Sweet potato fries were pretty good.
Great steak, great pie but sometimes there is a wait.
I don't come to Frontier Pies often, since I live in Idaho Falls, but every time I visit Rexburg oh, it is one of the highlights of my visit! Frontier Pies has great, homey food. It's not healthy by any means, but that's not why you go to Frontier Pies :-) obviously, their pies are always spectacular, but their comfort food is phenomenal. I've never brought a client and regretted it.
This is a fun nostalgic environment with excellent food and service. I have never eaten anything on the menu that I didn't like
Quaint atmosphere, really loved the feel of the place. Food was pretty good, standard American classic. Didn't have room for the pies, but the variety looked wonderful.
Amazing Pies, but dinner was so-so and very overpriced compared to other restaurants of same or better quality. Service was okay, and booth not very comfortable.
A solid choice for breakfast in Rexburg. Fast service. Big portions. Good food.
Very nice staff and their French toast with the berry syrup/sauce is amazing
Great down home cooking. Reasonable prices. Great place to go with family and friends.
Food was gross, the chicken tasted like rubbery rewarmed chicken. Steak was over cooked, and vegetables were soggy. Not to mention the floor was filthy!! I don't like giving bad reviews but save your money!
I've eaten here several times and I've never gotten my food in less than 40 minutes. The food is decent when it finally comes.
I really love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the pies are amazing! Unfortunately, the food is hit and miss. Sometimes it's really great and other times I've gotten a little sick from it. They also often forget items that are supposed to come with your food and you have to remind them. It's a cute little place but be careful what you order.
Excellent service, and good home cooked tasting food.
