This place was amazing! The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and wine offerings. The food was absolutely devine! The cost, for me anyway, makes this a "special occasion" kinda place, but I will definitely be back for more!

This was our first experience at Frog Hollow. It did not disappoint at all. Jack was our waitress, which is short for Jacqueline. She gave the best recommendations on appetizer, entree, and dessert. She was highly attentive and we didn't have to wait on anything. We highly recommend eating here and we will definitely be back again! The cocktails were quite amazing, too. We recommend the Saffron Sunset.

I do not give this 5-star review lightly!! The best service I ve ever had. Attentive wait staff, amazing locally sourced food, fancy, simple and delicious coursed meals. I ve never had a bisque before, but the blue crab bisque (not pictured) was so light and fresh and delicious I will have to come back. The mushrooms on the large plate were even better than the steak! And the clams and the clam juice and sourdough were divine. They plated my friend s cupcakes from the bakery with a candle at the end of dinner and our servers wished her a Happy Birthday when she walked in. Amazing service and food! Will be back to try the craft cocktails as I was the DD this time!

Wow! You have to try this amazing restaurant right here in Augusta, GA. I went here for my birthday and we had this amazing server name Alyssa, and she gave us 5 Star Top of the Line Service, and I think she may have even given me a dessert for free because it was my birthday, talk about a great server! There desserts are amazing too. I went with my girlfriend and we shared the andouille sausage small plate which was so elevated, refined, delicious, and classy, then of course we shared the crab cakes which were on special, and it was the most amazing crab cake I've ever had, as it was nothing but 8 ounces of pure delicious crab meat and absolutely no filler. Incredible. Of course all our dishes were prepared perfectly. We also shared the Pork Shoulder dish that comes with greens and mac and cheese lasagna, and the Pork was so juicy, well cooked and seasoned, and the hint of a sweet and smokey BBQ sauce just elevated it over the top, and of course the presentation of all the dishes were so classy and sophisticated, so beautiful you hardly wanted to dig in and eat them. We tried the Creme Brulee and Cheese cake for desert and both were perfect and delicious, exactly what you'd expect out of such a fine restaurant. Amazing service, 5 Star Food and Service, and the Food will actually simply change your life forever! You have to go to the restaurant. Also, the ambiance, decor, and environment are so Southern, quaint, classy. A must go in Augusta fine dining.

Everything about the experience was awesome. The atmosphere was elegant and light. The servers knew everything about the menu and made ordering a delight. I had the pork chop. I cannot describe how delectable each bite was. I have never tasted anything that good. To be honest every bit of my meal was an experience I will never forget. Please do not miss an opportunity to dine with them.

Augusta's favorite dining spot in downtown Augusta, Ga! They have fresh local and organic meats, fruits and vegetables, and everything they serve is made fresh and in house daily. Superb wine list, vintage and new cocktails, and great vegetarian options make this spot amazing!!

One of the best restaurants in town for sure. Worth checking out for a special occasion as it is pricey. I suggest going in late spring or summer as I prefer those seasonal dishes. Last time I had peach gaspcho soup that was amazing.

Saturday evening dinner for 4 adults. Good location in walkable old downtown setting, service is attentive and the bar is adequate. The "farm to table" offerings are a bit meager. Vegetable choices were extremely limited (kale, wedge salad maybe one other choice - collards?). Swordfish was passable but not impressive. Flourless chocolate cake was a treat. Nice place. Probably better off sticking with meat and potatoes here.

We normally enjoy our experience at this restaurant, except for the seating. On one of our previous night's out, we were seated at one of the 2 2-top tables against the wall by the kitchen and felt very cramped/uncomfortable.

Our experience Friday night for my birthday dinner was very frustrating. We contributed to the frustration by being an hour early (our granddaughters' game was over early, and we decided to just go early for our 7 o'clock reservation). When we arrived an hour early and spoke to the hostess, she said she would try to work us in. We were seated at a high top by the bar and enjoyed a drink. There were several tables/booths open that we watched that were 4-tops. We watched for an hour with couples coming in an being seated at these tables. After about 30 minutes, we asked the hostess if we could sit at one of the tables outside, but she said it was only for drinks.
Finally, about 7:15, the hostess came by to tell us that the couple at the table she had for us should be leaving soon. I told her that if it was one of the 2-tops by the kitchen, that we were leaving. She said it was, but that there was another table that they were clearing that she could give us. We were finally seated at 7:20.
We started to leave several times, but really didn't know where we could go on a Friday night and not have to wait for another hour or so to be seated. Our service and dinner, once seated, was good, but we were also very disappointed that we were not given any "special treatment" for either my birthday or the long wait. At a minimum, our drink at the bar should have been comped.
If you go, be sure to call for your reservation and request a booth/table away from the kitchen ... and be sure not to be early!!!!

We just left from celebrating our anniversary at Frog Hollow. The service, attention, atmosphere, and food were all absolutely amazing! My husband enjoyed the Ribeye, and I had the pork shoulder. We finished our meal with the flourless chocolate cake, which was to die for! We will definitely return, and I have no doubt that we will be as equally pleased as we were tonight!

I have been to many places that overcharge for the food. Whereas I do not mind paying, I expect the food to be on par with the price. I pay for atmosphere, service, A+ food quality, and an overall great experience. Frog Hollow Tavern delivered, and I feel to have gotten my money's worth. Let me emphasise the food. It was delectable. They cook the meat to medium. My choice is medium-well. I like a little char. It was perfect.

Overall, I recommend this place to any one that wants a smooth atmosphere with low decibels and great tasting well proportioned food.

I originally gave a 5 star rating but I'm taking a...

I originally gave a 5 star rating but I'm taking a star away and here's why. My husband and I have been coming here for birthday's and anniversaries for the past 6 years. Yesterday July 2, at 7pm we came in for our 9 year anniversary and it was the first time that we were a bit disappointed. Nothing serious but consistency is key and that is the reason we have always came back. Yesterday our drinks which were 3 old fashions and 3 Jack Daniel's and pineapple were watered down. We could barely taste the alcohol. My husband had the old fashions and all 3 of them came looking different. One had a whole orange slice with cherries. The other one had nothing but a square ice cube in it. And the third one came with just an orange peel. Plus the drink lacked alcohol, which is what we are paying for. My drinks were the Jack and pineapple. They were tasting more like juice. These are the drinks we have always had from here and they have never been this way. So basically what I am saying is the drinks were not up to par at all. For appetizers we ordered the cut fries and the crab cake. Well we asked for the appetizers to come out together, but we didnt know that they were going to make the fries first and have them sit until the crab cake was done. Our waitress should have suggested we get the fries first because when our appetizers came the fries were cool and hard. Obviously the fries were made then sat there until the crab cake was done, becuase the crab cake was steaming fresh when it arrived at our table but the fries weren't. Dinner was amazing we both had the pork shoulder, smoke gouda mac and cheese and greens! We certainly still enjoyed as this is one of our favorite places to come to. We have brought people here from out of town and we love it. I dont know what was going on yesterday. It wasn't even busy. I've been here before when its super busy and yesterday wasn't. Hopefully our next time we wont have these issues but if we do I will be speaking to management because people spend good money here for things not to be consistent.

Having spent 2 full days at the hospital while my brother underwent major surgery and I couldn't eat fast food again, his nurse recommended Frog Hollow.
I was seated at the bar and the lovely bartender took my much needed cocktail order as well as my to go order immediately while tending a full restaurant
I didn't finish my drink before my incredible food was ready!
From the interior to my fabolus bartender on Saturday night I want thank you for making a difficult night a highlight to my visit to Augusta with your beautiful food.
PS My brother is doing just fine!

We went to the Frog Hollow Tavern to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Nick was our server and he was wonderful. Having never been to the Frog Hollow before, we asked Nick for recommendations. My husband is an insulin diabetic and Nick was good to inform us of what dishes would have carbs that we needed to keep in mind. They had a special on the small plate (appetizer/salad size) and it was a Duck cake. It was wonderful! We are both partial to crab cakes but I think I liked the Duck cake even better! My husband had the Andouille Sausage and really enjoyed it as well. My husband had the Frogmore Stew and enjoyed it. I had the Cowgirl Ribeye and it was fabulous! The atmosphere at the Frog Hollow is a bit noisy but we did not expect it to be a very quiet place with it also being a tavern. It would be really nice if they did have a quieter dining area for special occasions or for those requesting a quieter setting. We absolutely will return to the Frog Hollow. We were very glad our friends suggested it.

Frog Hollow is a very warm, beautifully appointed, atmospheric restaurant. They offer a broad menu with a few less than common items. If a bit pricey, they are somewhat justified by the quality of the food and the extraordinary service. In addition to good food, an excellent selection of fine wine is available. For most, an evening at Frog Hollow is close to elegant.

Came here to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. I made a reservation through OpenTable. The restaurant had a paper with "Happy Anniversary" on it for us. I thought that was really sweet. I loved the eggplant with powdered sugar. The mac n cheese is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back here in the future. Love that it's an upscale type restaurant downtown that stands out amongst the bars and clubs.

I took my wife here for our 3rd anniversary, and it was better than I expected. The atmosphere was very romantic, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. We really appreciate how the food is all locally grown and harvested. It was very fresh and extremely flavorful. My wife's shrimp & grits was truly phenomenal! I highly recommend this place! It's a "must" while you're in the Augusta area.

Delicious! Definitely a great high end restaurant in downtown Augusta. There are a lot of things on the menu that you cannot go wrong with. I have enjoyed the duck breast and their fresh seafood options. I like that the food is locally sourced. I have also had excellent service the two times I have been here. They also have a seasonal cocktail menu that typically has some good stuff on there.

We went here for our anniversary a few days ago, and we had reservations before coming. They're open at 5, we came at 5:30 when it wasn't so busy, but then it got much busier later on. The waiter was very nice to us, and they were cognizant of the fact that it was our anniversary. The food quality was great, but the portions were rather small. I had the famous pork chop and my wife had a braised lamb shoulder. Overall the quality of the food is excellent as always, but I would have a hard time coming here for dinner regularly because the prices are very high. Only come here for special occasions.

We tried a few craft cocktails: old fashioned, Hive Tea, Aphrodite's Kiss. They were all great, but the hive tea was hands down the favorite. Dangerous mix of honeysuckle vodka and Camomile tea with honey. I would note that you can order bottles of wine and take home what you don't finish.
