The birthing aspect was great and efficient, mother and baby had to stay overnight as a formality which was fine except that I was meant to be picking them up first thing in the morning but instead had to wait all day to get released as there was only one midwife working in the postnatal department, come on get a grip NHS we have better things to be doing with our lives and newborns than waiting around needlessly like this, surely you should have more than one midwife on shift!

It s a huge hospital doing it s best in the circumstances after years of being strangled by a Tory government that hates free healthcare.
Tip: Car park is terrible. Too small, too expensive, but can t remove a star as it s not the staffs fault.

Appointment services is awful. My wife has been handed papers with day, date and time and where the appointments is and when we have got there the receptionists know nothing about it. This happened 3 out of 3. To a point where the consultant took us over to the SAU reception booked her in in front of us and on the day of appointment, after waiting and hour over the time appointed to be told he had put her down but not on the system you see. So we will have to just wait around until they can find a space. Real nice.
The problem is the is lack of communication and possibly training. Efficiency is low.
Positive note is staff are lovely and polite and they do try to help.

Even though I only spent less than 24 hours having treatment. from the ambulance men to the treatment at the a and e department to the ward I was in. The staff including nurses and doctors went above and beyond to care for me. I've spent a lot of time at different hospitals including frimley and this was the most care and considerate time I've ever had at a hospital. I can't thank the staff enough they were all wonderful. So thankyou all for being so lovely.

I went into hospital because I had positive pregnancy tests, severe ovary pain and spotting " I have an extensive history was born with gastroschisis and have only 1 ovary, I had severe pain" they took a urine pregnancy test and
PROceeded to tell me it was "borderline" - the young male dr was lovely but the senior dr at a&e didn't have a clue !! Didn't check me out , no scan didn't see gynaecologist either even though I should of due to my history, she then proceeded to tell me 4 different things in the space of 5 mins. First of all;
I was "having a period" then it was there false positives "yeah even the hospital ones " then she told me I had Misscarried, then it was I'm going to have a misscarriage.. then it was we have to wait and see your to early" I may also add I have autism and mental health conditions in which at this point I was extremely anxious. they didn't check anything but my blood, and yet have told me stuff they clearly don't even know about, they diagnosed with me no tests or backup to prove any of the theories .. I'm disgusted and feel palmed off every time I arrive here ! I then rang 111 who insisted to tell me
That there was no such as a borderline pregnancy test - you are or your not.
I don't think I'll be coming back here for anything pregnancy related !!

Staff car park to the rear of the hospital.
To the staff who hit our car today, who is also a staff and is not on a high salary.
Honesty would of been appreciated by just leaving your details so you could pay for the damage you did.
Manners can be quite lacking from staff with in the hospital. If someone let's you pass just say thank you!

Access to hospital is awful any time between 1030 and 1430. Parking is horrendous. The antenatal ward is always late. On our last visit despite the check in computer stating appointment was on time ... we waited for an hour and half for a 15min appointment!!

Have had the misfortune of dealing with their phlebotomy department twice in the past week. Two different women answered the phone after I was referred to them by various teams, both incredibly rude and dismissive before I could even explain the situation.
Apparently their calls are Recorded for training purposes" - seeing as it's very difficult for admins and bureaucrats within our NHS to lose their jobs over incompetence, let's really hope these calls were and will be used as examples of how not to treat people. I fear for anyone who actually has to visit in person.
Have fun with the CQC on the next inspection, ladies.

Amazing hospital, always open. Even when they are busy they deal with you in an extremely professional manner. They don't get enough praise or money for the hours they work and the verbal abuse they receive from people. They work at weekends, bank holidays and Christmas when many of us are at home with our families yet people are too happy to complain about them. I do not like it when people complain about the traffic jams and not a great place to live but just remember it is on your door step and you don't have far to travel if you have a problem. It is an amazing hospital and they will be there when you need them most.

This hospital has a quirky layout & unlike other hospitals the staff are not simple-minded & rude.
There are 3 sets of lifts here:

Waiting times are absolutely shameful, reception staff are rude and unhelpful. An abject failure of a hospital and a perfect example of the shortcomings of the NHS.

I've been waiting 5 hours up A&E which is allegedly in "time order", whilst watching EVERY SINGLE PATIENT who has come in after me be seen before me.

I think it is important to give praise for the nurses, its must be so hard working in the NHS today and I suspect they do not get many thank yous. I would like to say thank you, unable to breath well I ended up in A&E was seen immediately and very soon found I had bad phenomena, 5 nights I stayed here. With all the pressure the nurses are under they couldn't have cared for me any better, they were lovely. I have a history of cancer, so they checked me for lung cancer as soon as they say my history. I have a fear of needles, couldn't have been kinder with that. I have been to many hospitals over the last few years, this one is one of the best. Thank you for looking after me and making be feel safe.

My daughter is a regular at this hospital for the last 13 years. It has gone down and down hill! The car park and access is a joke, today there were more than 20 spaces on the top deck but the barrier machines were saying the car park was full, it was like a skating rink and security couldn't give a dam - at least they were warm in their Hut! Also the machine on the new car park wasn't taking cards but there was no notice so you have to walk all the way back to the other machines - security apparently can't put a notice in the foyer. Let's move on to the care! That is a joke, they have overdosed my daughter and she had to be rushed to MADU, why ... it's the machines fault, it is not calibrated right. For the 2nd time in two weeks did they inform her next of kin - ypu must be joking! No I get to worry myself sick 1st when she was put in ICU without my knowledge and now when she is emergency rushed in to MADU without my knowledge and don't even start me on the way the Gastro team have treated her over the last 8 years! If you want to see how badly the NHS has got go to Frimley Park Hospital.

Great Hospital when you need it having good surgeo...

Great Hospital when you need it having good surgeons. I have been concerned about the language skills of some nurses and spotted them making basic errors with my medications when I was admited. FPH is plagued with the usual hospital problems. Parking is expensive and not inclusive as it is height restricted. If you have to attend on an adhoc basis as you are not sure when you (or your family member) will be discharged, it can rack up and buying a week or month pass never quite makes sense. until you have the benefit of hindsight. A&E waiting times are desperate - I wonder if that's to maximise parking revenues? The children's A&E unit is so slow at times. Several times I have arrived at 8PM, expect to get home about 3AM. (There really should be a trampoline tax as on a sunny Sunday, only a complete idiot wouldn't see the harm these things cause - especially when combined with idiot parents, a BBQ and some alcohol). However, parking charges aside, I know these are complex problems and changes to FPH are only part of the national solution we all know is required.

My father had recently been treated in G3 Stroke unit. The compassion and kindness shown to me by many of the staff and consultants was wonderful particularly as I had to leave the country and my father in their care.
The staff work tirelessly sometimes in challenging situations but always managed to keep in good spirits and always happy to help where possible. Thanks to all for your care.

Went to a and e twice very disgusted with the place. All they do is send everyone over to minors no matter what the problem is it's just so they can keep there numbers and waiting time down in a and e.Once you are in minors none of the staff have a clue proper useless.I was born with my feet turned round which i had corrected when i was a young baby.I am now 45 and lost have my left leg about a year and a half ago.I now suffer with my right ankle.I went to a and e as i fell where my ankle gives way.I was sent to minors and told nothing was wrong.Second time i went there my consultant told me if it gets worse go to a and e.I went to a and e in great pain and my ankle swollen and a funny shape.Again i was sent to minors where they told me nothing was wrong and that my ankle was perfect. Its never been perfect since the day i was born. Now last Thursday i go to see my consultant who is no amputating my right leg as my right ankle is in a state and can not be repaired. So my point is how can minors in a and e tell me my ankle is perfect and nothing is wrong.Frimley park a and e is a joke and they don't care for the poeple coming in who need treatment all there interested in is numbers and waiting time so it looks good on paper. The a and e didgust me.

Received good quality of care here during an overnight stay in A+E. There were some administrative hiccups such as my drug chart not being transferred over when I moved to a bed so this delayed the start of my treatment and also they need to look at their IT systems because the poor triage nurse was stood waiting for several minutes just to get my details off the system (she ended up having to make notes on a napkin). However as far as the staff and their professionalism and level of care were concerned I couldn't fault the place. Actually found the patient food to be pretty good too!

So my 88 year old mother with Alzheimer's goes into Frimley Park with a Urine infection. This afternoon she falls on the ward and now has a broken hip and needs a hip replacement. Accidents happen BUT can someone explain to me why the written and official records of the 'accident' say 'no witnesses' when we have factual evidence from two sources that nurses were present at the time. We have even been 'locked out' of the complaints procedure. Update . . . My mother is still in hospital after 18 weeks even though all parties say there is no medical need for her to be there. The problem is now Surrey County Council fighting over pennies before she can get into a care home. Disgusted.

Got to the hospital at 7am for a lump removal. Processed and vital signs all checked by 0745. Paracetamol taken at 0800. Taken to theatre at 0845. General anaesthetic given at 0850. Woke up on ward at 1030. Given a sandwich, biscuits (3 custard creams!) and a cup of coffee at 1045. Asked at 1100 if I wanted to take home any free painkillers with me (declined, have plenty at home). Discharged at 1130 and back at home for more coffee and biscuits by 1200, with a nice little anaesthetic buzz lasting for the rest of the day!

what a awful hospital was due to have my baby here in August and had to transfer hospital because my duty of care was so poor the consultants were pushing me to take medication that would cause my baby long term problems and have to be in nicu and potentially get cerbal palsy if I was to fit during labour due to being epileptic a c section would of prevented this but they wanted to keep there numbers low so refused me one they make you out to be a idiot if you bring facts up from there own leaflets and tell you you have read it wrong when it's in black and white half my notes went missing and didn't even note down my swelling my protein in my sample and all the other issues I had what linked to pre clampsia because again they wanted to keep there numbers low you always get seen late even if your telling first appointment in they are rude and make you feel worthless even at such a special time in a women's life to the point I left crying the other week from what the consultant had said to me I rang up the complaint number left voicmail and they never got back to me I now wouldn't go here if my leg was hanging off if your within this area go to St Peters or royal surrey at least they care about you and your babies needs!!!!!

I'll keep it brief

I'll keep it brief

On Thursday 12th February I just popped into A&E worried about a cyst growing out of control in the center of my chest. To cut a long story short, 'Reggie' from Minor Injuries got to work, drained the cyst and patched me up. Although it was a painful experience, it was no-nonsense, polite and professional. I felt looked after.

Returning at 8.25am the next day for to be treated by two further wonderful staff members who again, got straight to work, cleaned up the wound and sent me packing. The same service by the same staff was repeated at 8.25am the following Sunday which will be my last visit.

I was just astounded by the balance of efficiency and experience of the team members. I was in great hands and the staff, although busy, never failed to be warm and friendly.

I a world where you only hear the media's version of the NHS, the truth is a million miles away at Frimley Park.

Well done and thank you for taking care of me.

I have have a series of negative experiences with this Trust, ranging from poor care to extremely poor and unethical complaint handling.

I have been sent from pillar to post regarding a condition lasting over 10 years, and still have no robust diagnosis.

One of the consultants even referred me for a test that the hospital was not equipped to carry out, which speaks volumes in terms of competence.

In terms of complaint handling, I have found them to be profoundly unethical and, in my opinion, even victimised me for raising reasonable concerns on more than one occasion.

While visiting relatives recently my husband was admitted to Frimley Park Hospital A&E department. I cannot underestimate the care he received, the doctors explained very clearly everything that he was being tested for. After many hours and many tests he was finally discharged. What began as a frightening experience, we left with the knowledge that everything had been investigated thoroughly.

Thank you too all the A&E staff

Been here twice now. Once for day surgery as a private patient at Parkside. Kept waiting over 4 hours of scheduled operation time with no communication from Nursing team re op.

Today waiting for a procedure on the NHS. Over 45 mins running late. Reception team are not updating anyone and there are lots of anxious people waiting here.

I really do not recommend this hospital personally if you suffer from anxiety as this is my second experience of lack of communication and delays in less than a year and it makes people that are frightened of procedures even worse.

Next time I will be going to the Royal Berks.

Trying to call the automated answerphone would be ...

Trying to call the automated answerphone would be an exercise in pure comedy, if it wasn t so infuriating when it s the only way of finding out about a sick loved one. Don t try and contact anyone on G6. The automated system recognises it as Jean Hersky and tried to put me through even though I took the cancel option. Thankfully she wasn t there, so then it tried to put me through to Porters . It rang them (despite my shouting cancel again, but it was OK BECAUSE THEY WEREN T answering either! Then it told me there were no operators available and told me to call back! What a joke. This system has not improved what was already the worst hospital telephone system I had ever come across a couple of years ago. In those days they just didn t answer the phone. Wow. So I know nothing about how my mother my mother is doing and the only way to find out is to go there. So, perhaps from their point of view that s considerably less effort for them and the phone system is working just as it was designed to.

Very poor.

Very poor.
After two and a half hours waiting at 10.30 at night eventually left without seeing a doctor or getting anyone to look at my daughter's injury.
My eleven year old daughter was nipped by a little dog that left a small but deepish gash in the right eye lid.
Uncertain as to whether it would scar without a small stitch I took her to A&E at Frimily Park at 8.00pm for a quick assesment as to whether a stitch was needed.
We were unable to get just 10 seconds with anyone who would say yes or no.
After two and a half hours at 10.30 at night with my daughter collapsing from fatigue and hunger having been at school until 7pm (school play) and nothing to eat since lunch I took my daughter home.
Having lived all over the world this was my first experience of UK NHS, I have been treated better in third world countries.
Appalling

Monday 10 October had appointment 4.40 pm for Cystoscopy. I had been suffering with pain with my right hip, leg and moving down to my shin and as I was having problems with my right kidney thought it was related but the consultant informed me this was not the case. As we were already at FPH I went to A&E department. I was seen by Doctor 'Rachel' who arranged for x-ray and compared the results with previous scan only few weeks earlier. Nothing could be identified to explain the pain. All the members of staff we met were pleasant, kind and very helpful. I cannot praise them enough. I just wanted to register my thanks for the excellent service I received.
