Ms. Laura helped my family by giving my baby a pack n play with sheets and a baby blanket! I was only expecting the pack n play so the additional items were a blessing. This organization is very helpful and I am blessed to have met such wonderful people!

Wonderful organization that fills in the gaps and helps empower vulnerable community members.
Worst place to consider doing volunteering work ! I m a professional student who used to work in big companies such as Amazon and EMU school and never had any work issues until I met the director of this place ( Suzanne ). I wanted to work for Friends in Deed becaus it s a school requirement to do volunteering work and couldn t think of a better place than FID. However, this is not a foreigne student friendly place to consider working !
After I met the director for the first time, we talked and went through my assignment responsibilities. I was closely listening to her , taking notes and getting as much info as I could. Later on, I emailed her to ask about something that I forgot to ask because we forget things right ?! But instead, she was extremely rude with her response telling me that I should had been extra careful and took notes very well while we were talking. Therefore , she suspended me immediately and got me at risk of failing the class!!
But hey! God was with me and I was able to pull it off and find another better place to work and contribute.
Dear Suzanne , I m hoping you re proud of what you did to me because I wanted nothing from y all except to help the poor and raise donations.
I work in Detroit, and commute from Ypsi. Friends in Deed gave me the financial assistance I needed to pay for an unexpected car repair, so that my work wouldn't be interrupted. Everyone was very friendly, professional, and supportive, and they even sent the check directly to the auto repair shop. So grateful that places like this exist!
I have been an active volunteer for a few years and I'll stay on until these ppl who help other ppl no longer can use my assistance!
Very helpful organization. We're there for me when I needed help.
