I love this place go to African adventure it s the best
The Safari looks like a scene from Jurassic Park, only with real animals. It's very surreal. Can't wait to bring my nephews.
Not many things going on for Earth day but the animals were good and the seal exhibit is nice. The sloth needs a better home though
We love the zoo! Zoorasic park is pretty awesome too.
I see some reviews complaining about the prices and options for food at the zoo... I always pack a healthy lunch for my kids. Easy fix. You can bring food and drinks into the zoo, just no alcohol and no straws. The one time that I did buy food, I got a Caesar salad in the eatery in African Adventure. It was actually less expensive than I expected it to be, and it was quite large. Couldn't finish it myself. Very tasty.
I love the staff and the animals always seem happy. (Only exception being a tigress who was in heat and upset that the male wasn't interested. Poor gal.)
I love the meerkats and the reptile room!! The kids love the dino dig - can't do the zoo without the dino dig!
The place is great! Still, there saving endangered speicies, but! Most of the aninals are bored or lonely.... Still, goodluck on saving animals! (The Zoo)
Giraffe feeding way to expensive. 3 leaves of lettuce for $3 is just way to expensive.
I love the new attractions that the zoo offers us ....
How is the dinosaur exhibition ...
She was very nice but there's a lot of hobos everywhere
This zoo gets better every time we visit. The sea lion cove is amazing and the new African Safari area is fabulous. Very impressive.
Love the zoo, my grandson gets a kick out of feeding the giraffes
Great Zoo, good price, well taken care of animals. Very good food as well!
We've been going to this Zoo for the.past 13 years and have made it a grandkids, and their parents family tradition. My husband and I love it. The grandkids love it. Fresno chaffee zoo is so awesome. I wish to thank the staff and the care takers for giving us the memories, that we've had for all these years.
Took grandson there to see Daniel Tiger, awesome night got to see lots of zoo animals, got to see Daniel Tiger and their food is delicious
Who doesn't love to see animals? The grounds were very clean and well taken care of... Great place to take the family
I had a blast and got a workout. They need two lines on feeding the giraffes.
We love going to the zoo and they have done a great job building Africa adventure and can't wait to see what they do with the new part they will be building
With all that money it still looks dirty, needs attention.
The zoo today is so special in it's magical way of bringing the wild animals of the world to life as kids see them alive and in a habitat designed to keep them comfortable with good vision of them . 60 years I've been going and it still has that special ability to renew imagination and appreciation of nature's best .
Always a great time for the kids! Lots okung great animal exhibits! And thre food is pretty good too.
This is such an amazing experience if your looking for something adventurous to do in Fresno. This zoo is cheap on admission pricing with so much to see & do
Absolutely great as always, some of the exhibits were closed but the Zoorassic Park area was awesome.
We always have a blast! Can't wait for the new exhibit!
This is a great family adventure. They offer free ice water to keep us hydrated. Very clean.
So proud to have this in Fresno. If you are visiting, go now...and take the kids. Price is so reasonable. The new exhibits are breathtaking. Feed the giraffes. Pet the sting rays. Go to the petting zoo. If you're local, send your kids to the summer camps. So glad to see my tax dollars put to great use.
Just go.
Caught me by surprise. What a great gem of a place.
I loved taking my children here to Chaffee zoo and now I am enjoying and loving taking my grandchildren. Yes The souvenirs and food can be a bit pricey but that s just about every amusement / entertainment family fun thing you might want to do.
What a great zoo. Staff is pleasant. The environment for the animals is so nice and appropriate for each animal.
Ok zoo, has a variety of animals, reptiles, birds & different things to see. Has a couple areas to sit & eat at. Also has a gift shop most items are over priced & expensive. Overall was nice visiting the zoo.
Had a great time, was able to eat lunch near the African display.
The Safari Cafe is amazing! Great view and really good food! The zoo has really upgraded and I highly recommend!
I really nice place to visit.. the animals look healthy and the zookeepers were very friendly.. the only bad thing was that it was a rainy day but I would really love to come back..
Until today I hadn't been here for about 7 years or so . My wife and I took our 2 & 4 year olds today and I was expecting decent zoo and fairly quick trip. I was amazed at what they've done with the place and my wife and I both agreed that this may now be our favorite zoo in California (and we've done all the major cities). The new(ish) safari area sold it for us. All of the animals were out and visible. Can't be beat for the price imo. Note:. We didn't purchase any food so I can't speak to that. Otherwise, easy to get around, something around every corner, not too big, not too small.....very impressed.
Since my daughter is a photographer she loved taking photos here the photos she took are beautiful especially because all their animals are beautiful
I love this zoo. Snakes, Turtles and well taken care of animals. Great job Fresno Zoo.
I really enjoyed being able to feed the giraffe, it was a unique experience I will never forget.
I've never seen anyone else at this dog park, and it's probably because its location next to the freeway is not appealing to humans, nor does it provide any shade in the large dog park area. With all of the large trees and beautiful areas within Roeding Park, the city could have provided a nicer and much larger area for the many canines and their human companions who live in this area.
Our latest trip was when they just opened after the Covid-19 closure. You had to make reservations to go into the park. Adults were encouraged to wear masks. Kids 12 and under did not have to wear masks. The park has signs on the pathways for people to stand and walk. Overall we had a great time.
I haven't been here for maybe 20 years. I was afraid it was going to be the same crappy zoo it used to be. I was wrong. Clean. Well kept and clearly moving away from cages to more open animal friendly habitats. I like the direction they are going. It was worth the stop for a few hours of walking around with the family.
I love this park. This park holds many great memories to me; from swinging on the swings as a child to feeding the ducks and geese with my fiance.
My favorite section of the park is of course the geese and ducks. They are so cheerful and happy to see people all the time. They just want to be fed and full so they can sleep comfortable in there giant pond.
Being there is just relaxing overall. The green grass makes it peaceful, the trees make the place shady, and the overall setting is just great for families and close ones alike.
You can take meat over to the park and sit on the benches, barbequing all day. Take the family out for an escape away from home or just chill out on the grass with whoever you want. You're only limited to your imagination.
There's also bathrooms there, so it's an all day type of place, and there is also a zoo inside Roeding park.
The zoo holds many animals like lions, elephants, alligators, snakes, tortoise, and much more. It's just a place you have to go to enjoy and see it for yourself.
Quite place but there's never shade on the big dog area. Especially during the summer.
It's great! Plenty of animals such as elephants, rhinos, tortoises, cheetahs and more.
Always AMAZING visiting our local zoo. Our family loves how they always add new things to keep us coming back. Food is always delicious and I personally think it priced very reasonable.
Fun for all young and not so young can enjoy watching animals
The animals were awesome. The staff was helpful and friendly.
There's so much to see and the employees attention and behavior to customers is helpful and inviting.
I think this zoo is so well designed, it is one of the best zoos I've been too, even if it's a little on the smaller side. The African Savannah section is sooo well done! You feel like you're on a safari! The restaurant in that section is also really reasonably priced, and I love the garlic fries. Other highlights for me are the kangaroo walk, the stingray petting and feeding, and the rainforest walkthrough. Oh, and the sea lions are great as well. This is a zoo that I want to keep coming back to.
We came here during the summer for a quick visit during our road trip to Sacramento. It was five dollars to park and then I believe $12 to get in. My kids really liked the open zero theme they were able to feed a giraffe as well as see many other animals even though it was very hot that day.
We love the zoo. Get the stingray bay and dino tour added to your annual pass for the best experience.
I love all the new exhibits! Especially the water area it gets so hot for the kids and that makes it tolerable!
My girlfriend and I got memberships and love enjoying the new safari section over a nice adult beverage of the dining patio. 10stars!
Their Zoo Lights exhibit is family friendly and cheap! I had a lot of fun with my fiance and their hot cocoa was delicious!
This is probably my second favorite zoo after the SF Zoo! So much of it is shaded, and it's so nice!
We are blessed to have such an amazing zoo in our city.
What an awesome zoo, loved visiting, it is a must to see . from new Zealand
Very fun zoo. The food is great and there are such variety of animals. The place is clean and it's never really SUPER busy. There's plenty to do for a day trip. The safari is beautiful and is a must see.
I've been coming here since I was a kid and before the African Adventure was here. I love that I can take my son now any time of day and enjoy a new section of the Zoo every time we go. During any weather. The food is great. The staff is very knowledgeable and polite. I have yet to try all the events, but my family favorites so far are Halloween at the park and Christmas lights decor in season. I can go on and on about how great this place is.
Enjoyed it very much and it's grown since.tje last time I was here and well coming here!
