On Saturday and Sunday, the market has vendors outside...if you need to buy a present and the food shopping is terrific inside...price is right...restaurants in the area are terrific with good food and ambiance inside..worth the trip and have fun.

Varieties of fresh fish, meat, poultry, produce, nuts, dried fruit, even fresh baked pastries. The grill breakfasts are tha best! A little pricey, & cash only. The "Brick" sandwich is a favorite!!

Amazing market with friendly stall-staff. The Cheese dude only takes cash, so be aware before you get in his line -- it's worth it. This place has butchers, poultry, a fish stall, a bakery, a cheese monger, and several ready-made grocers, including a place that does rotisserie chicken that's perfect for a quick lunch and leftovers. VERY crowded on the weekends, but open until 7 during the week. If you want to chat, go on a Tuesday!

Didnt know this location had such a selection in the inside building. I always shopped for produce on the outside tables but they also have alot of items inside as well. A few cuts of meat as well that I hadnt been able to find at regular grocery stores such as thick cut bacon and pork belly

EM is an absolute treat! Great selection of locally sourced produce, fruit, art, trinkets, and other items. Also a great place to interact with a plethora of different folks. People are generally pretty kind and I've had quite a few pleasant interactions with neighbors and tourists. Whatever your preference, you could spend mere minutes or whole hours here!

Usually great selection and quality at the several food vendors. Most take credit (Bower's Cheese, last I knew, the big exception). Also love the additional vendors and flea markets on weekends Wish I lived a little closer to do more shopping here.

I only wish I hadn't eaten just before going to the Eastern Market!! The food from their cafe looked and smelled very wonderful... All the vendors were set up with all kinds of fresh meats, fish, produce, flowers... I could've spent hours perusing the various stands!! Prices were ok. Beverages were the one really overpriced item.

Historic market with local vendors inside and out every weekend. Get local fruits & veggies & prepared foods (check out the smoothies & Mexican & Trinidadian & African tents on N. Carolina Ave), plus lots of jewelry, artwork, clothing, housewares, etc from artisans. COVID 19 precautions in place, including 1-way foot traffic, required masks, hand sanitizer, and reduced indoor capacity.

The area around Eastern Market is a bit rough. Our car was broken into around noon on a Sunday while parked in a side street a couple blocks from the market. I won't be going back on future visits to DC.

It's a historic market that's still in operation today. It sells a variety of food. If you come on the weekends, there are usually outdoor vendors selling their wares like clothes, jewelry, etc.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE BLUEBERRY PANCAKES at MARKET LUNCH. I'm so glad the gentleman who took my order convinced me to change my mind and order them. And the pork sausage was perfect side. Eastern Market is a mini Reading Terminal with street market outside on Saturday and Sunday. Loved it and highly recommend. Cash only at Market Lunch.

Great place to visit for food and drinks on 8th st. Not far from the Capitol and downtown. Has local indoor pool. The market is a great place to buy locally grown food. And it's not far from the Nats stadium.

A must for all local and visitors to the DC area. Always, stop by if only to just see what's new or to make a purchase from one of the local artist(s). Also, the fresh seafood and meat vendors on the inside are the best. Would recommend to family and friends.

The food stands were so yummy and fun! I got a crepe and mini donuts. I was in a food coma afterwards, but it was well worth it. There are a ton of vendors with produce, bath and body products, candles, clothing, blown glass, jewelry and more. There was a very tasty olive oil stand, too. My friend says she tries to go here every Sunday!

One if a kind, best place for local produce and meats. Love buying meats and produce there. In the summer I'd recommend the local cantaloupe. In the fall I'd recommend local apples.
Sliced turkey is great and great price, steak prices aren't bad either. Ground bison is available here too.
A lunch spot for locals. Fresh made food selections and grab and go options.

Saturday's there are four times the venders than there are in Sunday, selling crafts, art work, and antiques in the street. One both days they have the same excellent breakfast or lunch venders. There is something here for everyone here.

Nothing like a stroll through Eastern market on a Sunday afternoon. Its a great place to browse through some of the stalls that sell eclectic house wares and pick up some fresh fruit. There are various vendors both indoors selling everything from cheese, meat and fish and I would highly recommend trying out the fruit vendors outdoors.

There's a reason why everyone loves eastern market... The indoor market is a true market with meats, sausages - stuff you can't find in a grocery store- vegetables, jewelry, arts and crafts. The outdoor market also has arts and crafts and street vendor food.

Small quaint market with a flea market around the ...

Small quaint market with a flea market around the building and a dozen vendors inside - craft vendors in the front and food hall tucked in the back. While some of the food is prepared, most of the food is packaged that you can prepare at home. There's a lot of seafood and hearty deli meat stalls, the Italian Eastern Market Grocery and dessert Fine Sweets Shoppe are my favorite vendors!

A pound of pasta is roughly $7-8 while the sauces are around $7. You can choose the quantity of pasta, 3/4 pound of pasta was more than enough for my hubby and I and doubled over for another meal. I would probably go with the 1/2 pound next time. Highly recommend getting some fresh pasta to make at home along with some sauce!

Fine Sweets Shoppe - With so many decadent pastries and pies to choose from, I'm glad I bought the Caramel Apple Pie. It was fresh and baked that morning! Although it was a bit crumbly and loaded with crunchy walnuts, I enjoyed the apple filling. I wasn't a big fan of the Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie. I would skip it and save room for the pie!

There are also a lot of great bakeries and cafes down the block and near Barrack's Row like Spring Mills Breads and Shouk. So if you're looking for a gourmet pastry, it's worth venturing out. Fine Sweets offers a larger variety and bulk quantity. It's great for grabbing a box of goodies to share and take home!

Looking forward to coming back and exploring some of the other vendors!

Excellent indoor and outdoor market. The vendors are incredibly friendly and offer samples of their fruits and vegetables. It s an excellent place to grab a high quality, fresh cut of meat for the grill and veggies to make a great dinner.

The outdoor vendors have unique gifts at reasonable prices- I have bought family members some really great gifts.

Parking on the weekend is near impossible to find. Do yourself and the neighborhood a favor and use public transportation.

I always bring visitors from out of town here on our down time. It's a great place to grab some fresh air and check out some interesting flea market type items. I haven't explored the food options too much, but it looks like a pretty good variety of produce, meats, and other local eats.

The array of everything that was sold during their outdoor Sunday market reminded me a lot of the farmers market in Washington that i used to go to and i enjoy that atmosphere that a farmer's market brings to a community

Inside you have food stalls, meat, fish, cutlery, and outside on weekends you have a farmers' market with produce, and an International bazaar with leather goods, fabrics, clothes for babies, children and women, beaded work, Panama hots and more. Across the Avenue from the market are pubs and other eating and drinking establishments of all sorts.

Just a wonderful place to visit. Prices are decent. A great visual and smelling experience! From soaps to German lunchmeat to cheeses and bakery. I bought some half off sterling jewelry, ate a cherry strudel and enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit!

The Market Lunch was horrible. The food was under cooked (crab cale sandwich) it was small and cooked in old oil. For $14 expected a lot more. This "WAS" a really great place to eat. But like everything else, it has found the lowest rung on the bar and went under it.
