This is an excellent attraction for someone visiting Grand Rapids. It is also a great venue for someone planning a banquet or corporate meeting. The greenhouses are a better bet during winter months, but when the weather warms the sculpture gardens outside make for a most pleasant walk. The cafe serves good food, and the catered meals for banquets are also quite tasty.

The Blooming Butterflies exhibit was amazing. My boyfriend and I went as a day date and it was so cool. It's a great place to take kids and those who need handicapped accessible areas. The volunteers and workers were VERY friendly. We will go back this summer to explore more.

Beautiful garden! Love the Japanese garden area. Lots of waterfalls and cute bridges. They also had lots of COVID precautions in place. Hand sanitizer stations and restroom was plentiful. Sculptures were kinda weird but will interesting. I liked the iron tree the best.

Will be back.

Incredible place! If you want to see exotic plants and unique sculptures and art created by artists from all over the world, this is the place to go! Staff is great too. If you have never been here before, do yourself a favor and GO!

The gardens are great. It's crazy to get in right now because of the construction. I had a meal at a banquet the pear salad was great. the entree was bland and the asparagus was killed though I understand feeding 600 is hard. The dessert was good.

One of the Grands in the Grand Rapids area. This place truly has something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxing, and fairly cultured and sophisticated without feeling pretentious or overly middle class, and the ticket prices are reasonable. Absolutely worth every penny. Try to arrive in the morning or at least before early afternoon though, because the line gets long quickly.

Your kids will have a great time here, especially in the summer. I have many fond memories of the children's playground outdoors, playing in the scale Great Lakes with toy boats, and looking at butterflies in the summer and Christmas trees in the winter. Seeing the multi-storey-tall bronze horse is another childhood highlight.

If you're the type who hates modern art, you'll still probably enjoy the art exhibits. This art is not the 'lazy artist full of themselves' type. Sure, lots of it is abstract and conceptual, but it's all either interesting or at least large enough that it's impressive to behold. If you do appreciate conceptual and abstract art, this is your go-to in the GR area. The indoor pieces cycle through quickly enough for regular visits to be enjoyable, and their tastes in what they put through are good as far as I can tell.

Even if you absolutely disdain art of all kinds, the Japanese gardens are beautiful any dry day. The water, trails, and foliage combine to create a very relaxing experience, bar any crowds. The nature trails in the outskirts are also therapeutic, and are representative of the typical Michigan nature trail. Similar to Millennium Park, but more secluded and closer to nature.

The food here is also delicious. About on par with the Grand Rapids Public Museum's cafe. A bit pricy, but it works in a pinch of you don't have lots of kids and tastes great. If you are bringing a large family and need a budget option, tickets offer re-entry and you can pack a 'picnic' lunch to eat in the car.

In conclusion, I would recommend Frederick Meijer Gardens to anyone looking for a relaxing time observing both art and nature, dancing together in a masterfully crafted and maintained duality. I would encourage you to visit once before considering a membership, as it's not for everyone as a regular stop. But everyone living in and around Grand Rapids should have the opportunity to experience this modern-day Garden of Eden.

Wow, world class sculpture/botanical gardens hiding in West Michigan. Incredible facility with very well orchastrated plantings both indoors and outside. Terrific trail that reveals different sculptures as you round each turn. Also a nice stage set up for outdoor concerts and events. Very impressed.

A really relaxing place to walk around and be close to nature. Indoor green houses have a lot of interesting things to look at. Outdoor areas have great water falls and beautiful plants to get the back to nature feeling.

Four stars for it being a bit pricey. Other than that it's what you would expect. Beautiful Park area for the kids, sculptures to look at inside, plus more gardens and art inside. Couple stores not to be taken seriously, as the price is triple anywhere else.

Library was nice, same with the worker there.

The sculptures are varied, thought provoking, & beautiful; we especially liked the Great Lakes water feature in the Children's Garden; and, as Chihuly fans, the Cafe ceiling installation set the tone for a lovely lunch!

Lovely place to walk around anytime of year. The gardens are stunning and warm. The butterfly s in the spring are a highlight of the city. The art and scenic gardens here are a staple of Grand Rapids and surely a must stop for all. A lot of walking, but worth every bit

This place is huge. Butterflies in bloom is a huge attraction for the park. Make sure to bring your walking shoes, water bottle, and sunscreen. It is a nice place to visit for families to spend time together and be able to connect without the need of technology. Love the sculptures, and the way it just brings people together in such a unique way.

Very nice gardens. I didn't realize how nice they were until I saw similar offerings in other areas.

I'm not a big fan of concerts here. They really pack people in. If you do a concert, make sure to have the low back chairs.

Exploring this park is a wonderful way to spend the day. Either walking around or taking a tramcar (check the schedule as they stop running quite early), you will get to enjoy beautiful gardens and interesting sculptures. They have an outside theater which hosts concerts that I have to imagine is quite a good time and they have a lovely gift shop as well.

We've been coming to Meijer Gardens for years in all seasons. There's always something to see and it's nice to just walk through even if you've seen it all before. The kids area is always phenomenal, we spend hours there. A Grand Rapids staple for sure.
