My husband and I and our friends had such a fun tasting at frank family vineyards! The tasting room and property is beautiful! If you have the chance to visit ask for Marcos! He was so kind and very knowledgeable about wines! The port was amazing and we cannot wait to sip it at home!!

This was the only winery our itinerary that required reservations and was the most pricey. Having been there several times before the reservations requirement was eager to return. Most disappointing visit. Tasting selections were ok, host was inattentive not making any eye contact with us. Probably won't return again.
Loved Frank Family! Sal (our tasting guide) was wonderful! Perfect outdoor tasting. It was personal with delicious wine. I would certainly recommend with any trip to Napa.
I had a great experience at this winery. The staff was very friendly and easy going. The location is historic and beautiful. The wines are exceptional and even surprising. Love Frank Family wines!
It had been a few years since we had been at Frank Family, and what a wonderful experience it was once again. We had Marcos as our host and we could not have had a more knowledgeable, entertaining, kind person to spend our afternoon with!!! Marcos made us feel like family coming back home - a truly awesome experience with fantastic wine. LOVED it all!!!
Based on a recommendation we landed here and the person who poured out tastings "Garrick" made this a great experience with his knowledge of wine history. The wine is also really good and has nice reasonable prices. The location is beautiful as well
Wow, just wow. We had a private tasting led by Liam in a beautiful sun room. The setting was wonderful, the wines were delicious and Liam was amazing! By the end of the tasting he had several job offers on the table because of how wonderful his story telling was. You could really feel that he loved what he did and was a wealth of knowledge as well.
Was decent, definitely not worth $50 a person.... And was not told it was a $50 a person... Even if you buy a bottle. Super disappointed going for my birthday.
Less than 1 star!!!! Over priced wine and rude staff. Girl working tasting room cash register on 6-9 was worst customer service person I've ever met. She acted like we were there to steal something. Save your money, go to BevMo and get a mix and match six pack!!
Some of the best wines Napa has to offer. Frank family is a must experience. Gorgeous property very clean and pristine. The staff was very helpful and very accommodating they worked us into the schedule even though we neglected to book a tasting. Can t say enough about Frank Family.
The wife and I decided to stop by a couple of wineries after spending the morning at Safari West last weekend. Decided to go through the Napa book and find some new places to go. Found Frank's Family Winery and decided to give them a shot. I am certainly glad we did. As anyone that has been to Napa more than once will tell you it is much better to go during the week as the wineries are much less crowded. We went on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and it wasn't too bad. There were some people in the place but we were able to immediately get our own tasting room with Monty. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative.
I ended up buying a bottle of the 2013 Carneros Pinot Noir. They also have a nice picnic area out front.
Called to confirm appointment 45 minutes prior to reservation, only to be called as we were making final turn to vineyard to be told tasting was cancelled. There were power issues at the time, but the Frank staff (Liam) did not offer cancellation as an option to us when we called. Also, they did not return as message sent earlier in the day that would have saved us 4 hours of driving. Complete disrespect and no regard for our hardship. I will NEVER buy their wine again.
Beautiful yellow plantation like home is the tasting area.... All staff very friendly...Special tasting standouts were the sparkling Rose', Pinot, Sarah, & Sangiovese. Yummy silky Sarah lingered in our mouths as we drove away.
We visited Frank Family on our recent trip to Napa and it was an incredible experience. The staff, especially Mike, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We sat in a private room for our tasting and listened to Mike tell fun stories about the winery while also educating us on the wine Frank Family offers. We were treated like we were old family friends. I recommend this place over any other winery in Napa!
I loved the ambiance and the wine. The tasting room was cozy and quiet. The staff gave great overview of the winery's history. Frank makes one of the best Zinfandel wines in Napa Valley in my opinion. This place is on the expensive side compared to others but the experience is worth it.
Outstanding our hostess Melinda is the best we have ever experienced. Her historical knowledge of the valley and of the Frank family winery made our tasting unique. The reserve wines offered for tasting were excellent.
My husband and I stopped here on our Napa Valley honeymoon- first thing, 10 am. We had such an amazing experience. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. They weren't trying to make us rush, and in fact encouraged us to take our glasses outside and relax between our different tastes. We played with the vineyard dog, took some pictures, and grew to love the Frank Family Vineyards. In fact, I think this was our favorite stop, and we weren't expecting it to be! Now, I hunt their wines down (I live in PA, where getting a good wine is like finding a four leaf clover sometimes!). I high recommend checking them out!
What a cozy place to taste! We were seated outside on the patio with 5 other people. Loved the decor and modern craftsman style. Our host was Marcos who had a playful and fun personality and he was knowledgeable about the wines. We really enjoyed meeting others and chatting with the other people at our table. The wines were pretty good work my favorite being the Petite Syrah. The owner came by to introduce himself and say hello during our tasting. I do think the tasting is pricey at $40 and I'm glad the hubby and I can shared a tasting. Overall we had a wonderful experience and it was our 2nd favorite out of 3 for the day.
I am a journalist from the east coast writing an article for a major newspaper on my first experience in the Napa Valley. I did diligence on all the vineyards and chose, as one of my visits, the Frank Family vineyard for a tasting because I felt it would be a good experience. From my research I read that this vineyard gives good value. I am a novice at this but had already been to a few tastings before arriving at Frank Family. The day before,my husband and I had visited the small winery, Failla and it was marvelous, relaxed and very enjoyable. The Frank Family tasting could not have been further from that. It was, in a word, awful. It left us feeling totally "ripped off" and prey to a lot of hype. Very very commercial. The environment was like walking into a bank. We paid for the tasting and were immediately hustled up to a bar where Rob Crane could not have cared less about us, telling us about the wine or, in fact being there. He did spend time telling us about himself and how he only works three days a week and is close to retirement. He should do the vineyard a favor and do it sooner rather than later. After pouring each tasting he left us alone - presumably to do personal things, or what??? We learned nothing about the wine. We did end up buying a case to have sent home, but only because we had had several of their wines in restaurants. We had the wine sent to arrive 6 months later (due to my travel schedule) and were refused when asked if they could charge us when the wine was being sent since it would be 6 months later. The entire experience makes me angry when I think about being there. I will cool down before writing about this in my article.
I have done A LOT of private wine tastings in my life and this was by far the best one I've ever done. We had a VIP tasting with Liam whose voice will make you want to leave your spouse. He was so knowledgeable and explained the different wines like a story teller. He was so good that we left poor!
Really great winery to visit. The staff were so friendly and relaxed. We felt very welcome. Marcos was informative, funny and friendly. Much better than many of the other more commercial wineries.
Some of the tastiest wines I've had the pleasure of experiencing. These vines are rich and peppery and full bodied. Their cabernet is truly amazing and worth the expense.
We had the honor of being here for an exclusive affair and it was a wonderful experience to be part of.
The grounds are exquisite and it's a pleasant place to spend time.
I used to love coming to Napa Valley Wineries but it's turned into a Circus. We are here at FFV on a Monday at 11am, it's very quiet but it's a 30 minute wait to taste. We asked to purchase a bottle to drink on premises at one of the many empty picnic tables. But, we were told that we first have to pay $40 each for a tasting. its all a shake down these days. Frank Family used to be one of our favorite stops.
I ve been coming to Frank Family for 5 years and I ve been a wine club member here since 16. Hands down, some of the best wines and one of the best tasting experiences in the Valley. This place, especially since the remodel, feels like coming home every time I visit. Mike and Marcos are always welcoming, share a story, and a glass (or 6) of wine with us. My wife and I got engaged here, and Frank Family is now a part of our family s story.
Don't waste your time. They are completely disorganized and unprofessional. We showed up and they showed our reservation but because they overbooked we were told to just stand in the tasting room because they sat everyone else. We were the second people to show for the tasting and the other 15 showed after we did. Such a disappointment! We took a $55 Uber to this tasting and when they didn't seat us and acted half hearted about even showing us where to stand, we felt very uncomfortable and decided to ask for a refund. BTW, Even when we did stand where they told us we never had anyone come to our end of the tasting table. Shocking! They could care less. There were only 2 of us and they were more interested in the larger parties. Obviously, they sat ALL of the others ahead of us. What a joke! We were considering holding a couple corporate events and parties here. This will not happen. There are far too many great vineyards/wineries in the area. They are not too concerned about losing the business. Too bad. That's exactly what makes you lose business.
Not only is this the best wine, and I mean every varietal they serve, but the staff is amazing. The friendliest winery around. For a real treat, try to get a tasting with Dennis in his private office. The wines are reasonably priced and it's hard not to buy them all!
This is a very good place to visit with a tour group, because they are very efficient and professional about managing large groups of people at multiple tasting bars. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their excellent wines and proud of the noteworthy history of the winery. But this is not a great place to visit if you prefer a more intimate and personal wine tasting experience.
Outstanding wine in an unpretentious setting. The tasting includes wines not available at retail. Gorgeous grounds, and a great place to come.gor a picnic. Bring your own food.
This is a must visit winery. Completely different experience compared to the corporate giants. Personal attention, great wine, and great stories. Mike was great.
Great place for a more intimate experience. Paid for the reserve tasting and got a private room with a small group of others (6 total including us). Great wine and knowledgeable staff. Even brought out a taste of their Patriarch for us.
6 out of 5 stars for sure. Best winery we have visited with impeccable service. Sal (somelier) spend good 1,5 hours with us talking about wine, telling us stories, explaining history and giving us recommendations for Napa Valley. Then the owner, Rich, came by to say hi and spent few minutes with us. So good, we are considering coming back tomorrow again!!!
