The manager was a total ***hole. Walked in there at 5:58 not knowing they'd close at 6:00 and he got so mad and snappy with me said I have to hurry up in such a disrespectful tone. Was in there for a total of 30 seconds and he yelled at me from acrossed the store telling me to leave. Like wth man. I don't expect to be treated like ass as soon as I walk into any establishment. I understand that if a place is closing, it's closing, but you don't gotta be totally disrepectful. Will not be shopping here again.

One of the best stocked liquor stores that I have ever visited. Staff hired with very deep knowledge of their respective sections. And the deli is also amazing.
UPDATE: As if this place needed to get any better, but still they renovated and they deserve props for the excellent job that they did with that. The store is excellently laid out and now there is a tasting area in the middle. Also, added check outs, so hardly ever a wait.
But the real star of the renovation is the deli/cheese shop. The store's floor space doesn't feel any smaller, but somehow a large eating area opened up in back of the deli! I actually think that they need to bring more attention to this new focus of their deli/cheese shop being inclusive of a counter service eatery, as well. You can't see it from walking into the foyer and looking into the deli, because it is behind a narrowing in the opposite corner from the door. I almost feel like I am letting out a secret by highlighting it in this review, because it seems to usually be myself and a handful of other people who seem to appreciate it for the peace that it gives us. I still get things like meat (I think that lamb is 15% off on Thursdays, but call to make sure), cheese (the best, if not only, place in MN to bring in the top quality cheeses of the North East states (and yes, that is a thing) and assorted dips, etc. to go. And now, I also get the occasional sandwich or maybe a beer with one of those killer herb/cheese scones and disappear to the back as it is a great local place to escape.
The only criticism that I have (and this is mainly if anybody there is reading this) is that they won't let you open a tab with a card. Several times I have been there where I was fairly sure that I would want to try a second beer or something sweet or maybe a couple of scones to go.And I have been with a friend who I know is going to end up getting three beers, even though he acts like he really only was going to have the one. If I am having a meeting in there where I am picking up the tab, I want to be able to let my guest go up and choose what they want and it is on my card. And when it is just me, just the fact that I am already closed out usually deters me from any additional purchases. And I know that this is an event room, as well, so I am not sure why they wouldn't want people to have open tabs if they want to get something for themselves. But other than that, you guys are killing it!

Brightly lit, well organized, very clean. This place carries many varieties of spirits from everyday items and uncommon international fair to trendy craft creations to classics. It's not a discount store, but prices are reasonable. There is also a tasting bar with many options to discover something new.

I really like the beers on tap in the cheese shop especially when they have dark beers like Darkness. I love the beer selection in the liquor store. I wasn't impressed by the sandwiches in the cheese shop. The bread should have been toasted or heated. It was too tough. I wouldn't get it again unless they changed that. It would be nice if they added arugula or some other green and also had spreads that weren't so over the top spicy. The bread though was the main drawback. I love the sandwiches at Lake Street Liquor Cheese shop. There's really no comparison between the 2 places. It's that much better.

Fantastic sandwiches offered in the cheese shop. If you're feeling adventurous, the Mystery for $10 is always a good pick. They also offer some soups and hot sandwiches, as well as a wide variety of cheeses, spreads, crackers, jams, and more!

The Best!!! If they don't have it they will order it. Very friendly staff, great parking and a great location. Everyone is helpful if you want them to be but not annoying. I am not too knowledgable when it comes to wines and they always seem to get it just right. I can come in and say "I am making --- for dinner" and they will suggest a good number of things to go with it. Some evening they do tastings. Big domestic beer selection, not the biggest international beer selection but they have the greatest hits. It is where I buy alcohol.
Great liquor store with a cheese monger. The liquor side of the store is huge, and allows people to taste alcohol before committing to purchasing expensive bottles, which elevates this place above most other specialty liquor stores. The deli in the cheese shop is decent. If you like fancy cheeses you can also taste them--but beware of inquiring about stinky cheeses unless you want a free sample! Some of the deli's pre-packaged pairings of cheeses/fruits/nuts are excellent, but can add up quickly--great for last minute hors d'oeuvres for your party, or as something to bring to the party!

France 44 is one of the only places that carry my favorite tequila. I won't say what it is because I don't want anyone else ordering it. The online ordering process is quick and easy. Each order has been correct and sent out the day I order it, with the tracking number sent to me via email. When I have had occasion to call France 44, the people are incredibly nice and accommodating. I have no reason to order from anyone else and that is really the best thing I can say about them.
Am excellent selection, and knowledgeable service make France 44 the foremost wine and spirits store in the Twin Cities (at least in my opinion). Another one of the stellar qualities that make this establishment shine is the fact that they allow tastings of certain bottles, allowing you to fully understand their suggestions, and inform your purchasing decisions.

A lot of wines and beers at a reasonable price. Attractive, clean store. A deli under same roof with imported cheese and meat. A very nice place to enjoy a sandwich and a glass of wine. Try the turkey, Brie and cranberry chutney.
