Great venue for a professional event but the air vents were obnoxiously loud and made it difficult to hear the featured speaker. But besides that, the venue was clean, had great coffee, and the staff was friendly.

Staff was wonderful, however, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The carpeting throughout the hotel is stained. The complimentary bottle of water left in the room was not sealed. The electronic adapter plugged into the wall had about 9 plugs in it, and the ground prong was broke off in the wall socket. The CT liquor authority came to inspect the bar. 18 bottles of liquor was thrown away due to fruit flies. Do not stay at this hotel.

My wife and I just stayed at the Four Points notes this past weekend. Our stay could not have been better; the food was very good, the rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was outstanding; helpful, friendly and never missed an opportunity to smile while serving us! Forget the past reviews. Four Points is a great value and we will return!

Avoid getting a room by the ice machine, walls are so thin - sounds like there's an avalanche outside the room every 20 mins. Bring your own pillow - no support. They have free in-room coffee and the breakfast buffet is decent & reasonably priced.

Being an SPG member, we always choose to stay at this hotel, I'm actually in shock to see some negative reviews about this hotel because this is a perfect example of a hotel that goes "above and beyond" to show hospitality and great customer service. We booked a room for a couple of nights last week and after booking, I emailed Yvonne (the GM) to let her know how excited my children were to be able to just chill in the pool all day; I quickly got an email and a phone call from her explaining that the pool was out of service at the moment, I told her that I couldn't cancel the reservation because it was from a 3rd party site. So when we got to the hotel, Yvonne actually made arrangements with another facility to let us use their pool; at first I was kind of disappointed because I didn't want to have to drive somewhere else just to go swimming but she assured me that the place was really beautiful, and what do you know!! She was 110% correct, the place was an outdoor activity place with a pool, playground, soccer field, basketball court and even a bouncy house.
So my kids actually had so much fun that they want to come back ASAP.

Yvonne and her staff made sure that we had everything we needed to go to the facility, they even packed some towels for us. After a whole day of fun in the pool, it was really cool to walk in to our room and see a fruit basket from the hotel. And wait it gets better, our breakfast was comped, and as we were checking out, Yvonne was at the front desk waiting for us( how often do you see a GM of a hotel being this hands on with her guests?) she made sure that we were satisfied with our stay and she even apologized for the pool not being available, though there was no apology needed. I know that the pool is just an extra amenity provided by the hotel and that she didn't have to find us a place to swim in; but she did; and this gesture is an A+ in my book.

I also appreciate the front desk staff that went out of her way to research some activities and places to visit for the kids , she even printed everything out and highlighted directions for us.

Once again, this place is a perfect example of a good / hospitable hotel.

And I also appreciate the personal email from Yvonne after checkout..

This was a pretty nice hotel. We had a nice breakfast. The ice machines were not on every floor, and not marked which floors they were on. This was a little confusing. We did not have a refrigerator in our room. That was a minor inconvenience.

After multiple years of being a member of SPG, I am very concerned with the Four Points Meriden in CT. The general condition of the rooms and the building. The staff were very welcoming but there was considerable dirt in the rooms from the previous tenants, the bathroom had mold and trackable dirty floors, as did the pool. In addition there were multiple safety issues with no staff visit. The security was my final concern. Multiple exterior doors were unlocked above and beyond the normal customer doors,, many of them in need of repair and cleaning.
I will be glad to add further if you interested. I am certainly reconsidering my choice in hotels.

I attended a professional event here and felt like there was a lot to be desired. One of the rooms used for presentations was really hot, and the other room was freezing. The event was for about 80+ women, but there were only 3 bathroom stalls and they all ran out of toilet paper. The area for the cocktail/ networking time after the conference wasn't in one of the presentation rooms or restaurant area, it was in the hallway between the conference rooms and front desk, they just wheeled a cart over with a makeshift bar area. This also meant guests checking in had to wade through a very crowded hallway to get to their rooms. As for the food during the event, it was actually pretty good, which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. The lack of water really bothered me though, it wasn't easy for people to get to the water pitchers and water was not provided in the area where soda and every other drink was. The tables were spaced pretty haphazardly, making it difficult to get past tables and chairs in the room. This place just seemed to miss all of the details, and the staff wasn't rude persay, but they were definitely not friendly.

Just checked out today. The room had multiple problems but the staff were very accommodating. Kim went above and beyond! She was the reason this was rated 3 stars instead of 1. Just to show the attentiveness and services provided really goes a long way. The pool was deep 8ft and wasn t over chlorinated like most hotel pools. Staff and customers really practiced social distancing and mask regulations. I will be coming back.

This is a hotel of almost : almost clean, almost adequate service, almost a night s sleep, almost presentable breakfast. The smells are what will linger in my memory - each floor has a different musty odor, the rooms yet another unpleasant sensation, the bathroom just faintly of urine. Never again.

Greet place to stay for a night or two. Great venue or event place. Rooms are a good value but little outdated. Fridge and microwave are additional. No complimentary breakfast. Restaurant little pricey. Nice pool and workout room. Not sired for extended stay but great value for events and visits

I've only been here for occasions, presentations, etc. But from what I've experienced it's a nice place. When i used the rest room i passed some people taking their dogs out for a walk. I'm not sure but by that experience i would say that they allow pets.

It's not the wonderful rooms that are always clean, it's not the incredibly helpful front desk, it's not the clean facilities that are well maintained, 100% what sold me on coming back here Everytime was the silver city restaurant attached to the hotel

The outstanding staff there are some of the most fun loving people I've met in a long time. I've ordered everything under the sun just to test their metal and I'm blown away Everytime!

Better southwest food than Arizona and creative dishes you find in top restaurants with some of the greatest prices.

Special shout out to Matt and Luis you guys made each visit a special experience, thank you both

t work properly and the a\c vent was terrible as well. I had a 1 yr old and 3 yr old whom alleries started to act up so we just checked out. The staff was nice. They were eagered to compensate me which was ideal but was not what I was looking for. I wanted quality. If your looking for a clean hotel look elsewhere. This is not it. Hotel is outdated. Housekeeping needs to be trained as simply wiping a toilet is not cleaning. Especially since covid its extremely important to keep everythng clean. I've worked in hospitality for 5 years. This stay needed to be comp. Dont stay here! I wish there was a way I can upload pictures.

Layout is a bit odd, elevators are hidden behind the lobby, which isn't much to speak of. The place is getting a bit older, but the rooms are spacious and the staff friendly. Breakfast was also delicious.

If I could only give one star I absolutely would. From the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out there was not a positive thing about this hotel. First we were assigned a room that maintenance was working on so we waited for 20 minutes before we were given a new room. In our new room, there were boogers on our headboards, and the bathroom was filthy. The cleaning staff had their music blasting early in the morning as they cleaned rooms with no regard to the guests. There was a constant smell of marijuana and to top everything off, there was a BDSM leather sex party going on at night in the hotel.

We reported to management we left a very expensive necklace in the room once we realized after checking out. They claim not to have found it when we know for a fact it was left by mistake in the room. It is very apparent housekeeping stole the necklace. We were told by head of house keeping they are not responsible for items left. This is an unacceptable answer. They employ dishonest staff. Very poor customer service

I cannot recommend a stay here. The staff are friendly but the furniture and carpets need to be replaced. If the carpets get replaced it might get rid of the smell. They also need to get new cleaning tools. Bathroom reaked of dirty mop. Aren't mop heads replaceable???
The hotel restaurant needs to replace their dishes and silverware. Either they aren't washing them well or they are very worn.
And do something about the fruit flies. They offered us complimentary breakfast but the fruit flies and dirty/worn dishware turned my stomach.

Attended event in the Hawthorne room. Comfortable chairs and we were very well attended to by catering staff. Not sure if projection equipment was provided by hotel but everything worked very well. Hallways were a bit dim with a somewhat odd layout, but other than that a very positive experience!

Very personable staff check in is fine. My bathroom shower looked as if had mold in it (I did not shower), the hallways smell like a pool room, the rooms are very dated. The hotel really needs some updates to make the place look more modern and enjoyable. But again the staff is extremely helpful and nice. Just the hotel as a whole needs some work.

Bar staff was a but slow, but the hotel staff was excellent as always. They even went so far as to fully replace the very noisy old heater within an hour of my complaining about it, and on a fully booked and busy night no less.

Your hotel has risen in quality and comfort. This is a FYI. The sheets are wrinkled. They look used, which of course makes me uncomfortable. ! However, the mattress was comfortable. And a mini refrigerator would be a great asset.

Right from the jump the staff was excellent. Checking in was fast and pleasant. There was no microwave in my room because I didn't choose a deluxe room but the beautiful woman that checked me in invited me to use the employee microwave when I was ready. I thought that was a small example of an employee going the extra mile for a guest. Very nice. If I did have a problem at all with my stay I would say it was also that. I feel every room over $100 should have a microwave and refrigerator. The wifi worked just fine, I did some gaming and listened to some music using the hotel WiFi. I did hit the sports bar downstairs for some beer wings and sliders. The food is great there. The wings are maybe the best around in my opinion. So it was an awesome experience.

Great place. Happen to find it by accident the first time it was just a lousy snowy winter day and we just wanted to get away and relax so it's about an hour and a half from us maybe less than that and the staff is phenomenal. They have a bar and restaurant right there in the hotel the bartender Luis was fabulous he was get him every time we go and is always friendly goes out of his way incredible. The staff when checking in and checking out go above and beyond. They were great I wish I could remember their names. They have a pool indoor pool the rooms are great very clean like I said we just use it for a getaway you know how the pool and everything is all in one so do you want a couple drinks and dinner you don't have to worry about driving great place we will be back.

When I took a shower there was no fan in the bathroom so the fire alarm went off. I spent five minutes trying to wave a towel in front of it to get it to stop beeping. Terrible water damage in the bathroom.

My partner and I originally planned only to stay two nights here, it ended up being 5 nights. Each time we had to add a night to our stay we were assured by hotel staff that our reservation would not be lost, there would be no problems, everything would be taken care of. Lies. They lost our reservation at least twice and so at the end of a long day we had to spend our time helping them do their job. They did upgrade our rooms and added free breakfast for one( were a party of two). We were shocked that they were calling it an "upgraded/deluxe room". There was nothing special except for the small sofa, but still extremely basic. We did end up getting a second free breakfast, but come on man. You know we reserved a room for two. The other big problem we faced was the temperature and the uncomfortable bed. Now, if you're staying for one night maybebe you can deal with a broken thermostat and the room temperature going back and forth from 60 degrees to 78 degrees all night long because the fan/heater is your only option. But for 5 nights, it was hellish. At the end of a stressful stay at the Four Points by Sheraton in Meriden CT we were looking forward very much to the Indoor pool and it was pleasant, I just wish that it hadn't been such a hassle to actually get in. In summary, it seemed to be a safe building in a safe area, but it was certainly not worth the money or the troubles and I'm disgusted that I even had to pay $71 a night.

Our family are worldwide travelers and understand the value of hotels. This was a lucky find as we were moving from Los Angeles to Connecticut. We have stayed at this property at least 30 times (while we looking for a home) and we have had many friends and family stay there through the years. The rooms are all updated, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant/bar is not only yummy, but you get to interact with locals since it seems to not only attract hotel guests. The staff is professional and recognizes starwood preferred guests. I literally trusted them with housing our 96 year old grandma for a short stay and they treated her like family. I cannot say anything negative about this property. We have heard horror stories from friends that stayed at hotels with five star ratings in New Haven and I would suggest this hotel and the short drive to Yale versus staying downtown. I hope this helps anyone looking to stay nearby...even within 20 miles!
