Great little Theatre, watched woman in black which was great
Very cozy inside this venue. Saw "The Woman In Black" which was very well done. Terrific actors. Snacks and drinks were available and delivered to our seat.
I ve now seen The Woman in Black 3 times here, great performance but I ll stick to talking about the venue itself!
Small theatre which is lovely and means even at the back you are SO close to the stage, only a couple of toolets so queues are insane at the break but being reasonable, it s a very old building and space is limited.
Lots of options for snacks and drinks.
Historical building, lovely to visit each time.
Small intimate theatre, good for the woman in black but quite basic. the concessions took ages to queue for.
Saw The Woman in Black here, amazing show and the architecture / atmosphere of the building adds to the impact.. a must-see
The Woman in Black ; First on my list for horror plays to watch - I was kept on the edge of my seat as the play developed - partially also because if you were shorter than the rest of your peers, you too would be struggling to poke your head above the rest being seated in the upper upper circle - I had constant goosebumps, which says alot if you were to ask if the play was good the play runs for about 2hrs w an interval of 15mins. An original by Susan Hill. Go check it out!
Just visited here to see The Woman in Black. Very small theatre for the West End circa 400+ seats. Do be aware that seats can have limited leg room & you may have stairs to climb. It seems every possible square inch has been utilised. Drinks & snacks are available in your seat, but pricey as to be expected.
Cute theatre, the old school vibes worked well with the play. We saw the Woman in Black on the second row and I cried my eyes out because of some scares. (I'm just a little jumpy when it comes to horror) I was very impressed and enjoyed the play a lot! The location itself is quite small wich makes it an intimate experience
A beautiful building. As most of the attendees, I came to enjoy The woman in black and it was superb. The theater is elegant, with gorgeous details and is just perfect for a horror and suspense play.
Lovely little theatre. Very easy to find on Drury Lane just as you leave covent garden. Good selection of drinks for such a small bar and snacks are not over priced for central London. Staff very friendly.
A great show that gives amazing jump scares throughout the entire performance!
A lovely little theatre. I saw the wonderfully eerie Woman in black.
We were attending the 'Woman in Black' play there, during our classic Christmas trip to London.
A theatre like any other around, staff is friendly and looking after you to help find your way.
I'm just wondering if they realised how much it is painful for people taller than 6f to stay during an entire play, without barely moving/extending your legs, as the seating places are so narrow!
Lovely small quaint theatre, had a very intimate feel to it.
One of the oldest Theaters in London showing The woman in black . We had a great time and enjoyed the show very much. Excellent performances by the actors and the theatre itself radiates great charm. You can practically feel the decades of history while being there. Bathroom is a bit small, though... :-)
The Woman in Black is a very entertaining show, but the theatre itself needs a little bit of an update. Prices for drinks etc are expensive, as expected, but staff were pleasant and accommodating.
Watched the woman in black and was blown away. Everything about the show was perfect.
Great show and good service thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The play was great! The bathrooms are a little small tho, otherwise the staff was very nice...
Very intimate theatre, could use a few coats of paint and a vacuum, great night and show, just felt a bit grubby.
wonderful show, lovely theatre performance was excellent, acting very professional pity about the plastic glasses for the pre theatre drinks and the interval the perfomance was enhanced by a crowd of schoolchildren at the back who shrieked at the appropriate spooky moments and provided added atmosphere a wonderful night out and topped it off by having dinner after the show at dishoom a great treat
Amazing place great show very historic theatre I think it's one of the smallest and oldest in London
Woman in Black was awesome. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Came here to watch The Woman In Black. Absolutely superb acting and such a memorable experience. The seats are a bit tight, but the show definitely made up for it.
Front row on the upper circle, still a good view. Not a good one for anyone over 6 foot tall.... Very cramped leg room
Lovely theatre and wonderful production. Had a fabulous time.
The Fortune Theatre is nice. The Woman in Black was a bit of a basic production to watch.
Great wee London theatre. Saw The Woman in Black, which worked perfectly there.
Awesome small intimate theatre in central London. Went to see The Woman in Black, excellent show and o would highly recommend that people go to see this show. The venue as stated is one of the smaller theatres in London but that helps give an more intimate and intense experience when viewing shows there. I sat in the dress circle, seat F3, the view of the stage was not blocked for myself. The seating arrangement were a little snug for myself being 6'2" but apart from that overall and excellent venue. I would highly recommend seeing a show here.
Show was great. (Austentatious) Building needs renovating.
small and intimate: perfect for the atompshere of the play
Small theater, but cozy and comfortable with great bar and pre-intermission ordering. Toilets are small, so plan ahead.
What a wonderful place to see the play you desire. A personal.favourite was The Woman In Black. Pheonominal acting and a truly great vibe and atmosphere. Again with all theatres, prices are slightly dear for refreshments but that didnt stop the enjoyment and thrill of Fortune Theatre.
What a great surprise..... fabulous intimate venue with careing staff. The bonus was the show itself. See it....
Brilliant funny and scary at the same time the actors amazing
Went to see woman in black today. Fantastic play, the production was great. Lovely old theatre with good views for all angles.
Woman in Black...still as amazing as when I saw it over 20 years ago
What a great night. Women in black was excellent! Arrived at the theater with minutes to spare and the staff were really helpful and suggested that myself and my wife sat in one of the boxes because I walk with a stick and there were fewer stairs! Everyone couldn't have been more helpful. 5 out of 5 stars...
Pretty good old theatre (Edwardian?) which manages to be intimate without being pokey. Warm enough in winter and ok in summer. Well run; organised. Current show has been there for decades but is good too (still fresh). No restricted views unlike other theatres. You could sit in the back row of the upper circle here and still enjoy the show.
Great view of the stage and the usherette was interactive with the public and super play to watch
Amazing theatre and amazing actors, had a great time watching women in black
Great production of "The Woman in Black"... Staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. Facilities/premises were well maintained and clean. Loved having an onsite bar that extended service into the house for patrons. Great location, near other places of interest, including plenty of restaurants, bars, and pubs. Transportation was very easy to/from.
A beautiful theatre. Very friendly staff. "The Woman in Black". Excellent
I have a severe nut allergy and was a little bit anxious to go to the theatre, however the staff are amazing and I actually was upgraded to sit in the box so I was away from everyone. The customer service was brilliant and really appreciated. Xx
Went to see The woman in black at Fortune Theatre a great show, and great place
Friendly staff, seats a bit cramped for people over 6ft tall
Quaint small theatre with very helpful and cheerful staff. Toilets are tiny and need a refurb.... Upgraded on the night at no extra cost. Pre booked some drinks.... Take your own snacks. An overall very enjoyable experience.... Would definitely visit again.
Loved the woman in black! It's a lovely small theatre with really friendly staff. :)
The theater is very nice, toilets are clean and there are several bars inside. It's quite a small theater so there going up and down the stairs it's a bit tricky, also the queues for the toilet can be long but it's overall good.
Unfortunately the show (the women in black) failed to excite either myself or my wife. However there did seem to be a good proportion of the audience jumping out of their seats with every loud bang and appearance of the mysterious women.
Small venue with a pretty small bar downstairs. They are showing The Woman in Black - almost 30th anniversary.
Really small which is perfect for the production, and it was a really good show.
Tiny West End theatre on Drury Lane. It has hosted the Woman in Black play in recent years, and the production is suited to the intimate and old-timey feel the theatre gives.
Went to see woman in black here and they got it spot on, the use of lighting and sound was simple but very effective to create the perfect atmosphere for such a piece, if you want to see woman in black here is the place to see it
Here they put "The Woman in Black", so it's worth coming. But the theater itself is small and uncomfortable.
Loved it a beautiful old theater performance was excellent
The theatre itself is small but the seat F13 had a good view and decent legroom. The toilet facilities were appalling with the urinals facing the entry door and the ceiling might hit your head if you re taller than 4 ft.
The show itself was unimaginative and a joke of a thriller/ horror genre.
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff.
Great little theatre. Dress and stall seats are better than upper circle
Excellent theatre cheap tickets and good seats. I went to watch the women in black.
Great show, intimate theater, and the most intimate bathrooms in the world. You practically had to put your arms around the next fellow's shoulders to stand by his side at the urinals. I'm all for fellowship and brotherhood, but that's a bit much and costs this place a star.
True entertainment. Historic. Reasonable prices for food and drink. Warm and welcoming staff.
Small but excellent theatre. Good facilities and the atmosphere was great.
The best theatre show I've seen. Staff were great, theatre comfortable and the show awesome.
I sat in the upper circle for the woman in black. It was a great view and easy to see the show even from up high. It is a beautiful older theater. It is pretty confusing to get out if you end up away from the crowd but the staff is friendly. Seats and leg room are very small so it is not necessarily comfortable as your knees are very easily in the back of the person in front of you and you are likely touching one or both people beside you
The Lady in Black has been running for over 30 years, and we'll worth seeing. Old theatre with not much leg room. Bars need updating
Went to see The Woman in Black and it was amazing. The venue is gorgeous and intimate and because of this makes the show much more interactive
