Cosy theatre with a possibilities to have your drinks and food while enjoying the show. At the break ice cream were sold. Didn t enjoy the play that much but overall nice theatre.

Very very small restrooms with huge lines.

I enjoyed the show but found the bar area very small and not enough seats for people to sit down and enjoy pre show drinks so in the interval we just stayed in our seats and didn't bother, also the toilets are very tiny which are not good if you are of a certain size but still enjoyed my night the performance was very good.

We saw The Woman In Black here (fantastic horror show). The theatre is ageing which lends to the atmosphere a little at times but the seats all very creaky so even the slightest move can be heard from rows away which can be a little distracting during tense scenes.
They do give you a cup to empty your plastic bag of sweets into though, which cuts that noise out - a neat idea I thought. They even actively monitor (and scold!) anyone who refuses the cups and eats from the (noisy, rustling) plastic bag.

Old but small, and cosy. Production was very good. Richard Hope was delightful and most enjoyable adding a new dimension to a play I've seen many times. If you haven't seen Woman in Black I suggest you do.

The seats are crazy small. If you're any taller than 5'8" you are going to hate life. They were so uncomfortable I have no idea what going on for a 2 hours during the play. I would skip this location.

Lovely little theatre, in need of a bit of tender loving care! Saw "The Woman In Black" amazing performance with only two speaking parts. Actors were brilliant, how they remembered all their lines I have no idea!!

Bring your own snacks and drinks. This place isn't called Fortune for nowt. 11 quid for two small Pringles tubes and a popcorn? Place is a bit careworn too. You can tell the same shown has been running there for 30 years.

Travelled seven hours on a trip to see the woman in black to then be kicked out the show and told we weren't allowed in. Staff were very rude and did not help at all in the situation, didn't expect to be spoken to in the way the staff spoke to us.

Thoroughly enjoyed watched the woman in black. Actors were great and the story eventually became thrilling after a slow start. Sadly the seats are tiny. I would recommend paying more for a better view and hopefully better seats

I came here with my date to watch the woman in black. While the enterance seems small, the theatre floor is actually very large.

They have bars on each floor to obtain drinks during the play intermission.

The staff are friendly and helpful and made it substantially easier to work out where we needed to go for things such as toilets, nearest bar, etc.

Would absolutely come here again.

Watched Woman in black here. We were moved from upper circle to royal circle box. The box view doesn't get the entire view of the stage but you can lean in to see it all. And it was so close to the stage you felt like the actors were performing for you personally making the experience even better. The seats at this theatre aren't amazing but they were comfortable. The staff were tentative and really nice. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful theatre steeped in history, will definitely choose to go again. We saw Woman in Black, wasn't as good as we remembered but things change, still recommend going to see it (score of show not counted in review)

Worth paying extra for better seats...We went through the Fever app to see The Woman in Black and were sat in the last row, last 2 seats in the back left corner of the upper circle. I'm just under 6ft1 and spent the majority of the performance rearranging my leg position to try and get comfortable. Other than that the theatre itself was lovely, very rustic and oozes London theatre going.

Great performances in a very charming theatre. Really enjoyed The Woman in Black and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a thrilling ghost story. The excellent sound design from this play was well suited to the theatres good acoustic conditions.

This is a two part review of both theatre and show.
1. Theatre 1.5/5 A small theatre with many seats that have a slightly restricted view of the stage. We paid extra for good seats in the middle of the stalls and enjoyed fairly good view and sound. The bar staff were friendly but they had run out of the wine we wanted. We didn't like their range of ice creams on sale so we purchased from a nearby gelato shop and were prevented by security from re-entering the theatre - even though there were others inside eating ice creams! Forced to throw them away in order to catch the beginning of the second part.

2. The show 2.5/5 The woman in black.
A cleverly told storyline with just two actors. Quite predictable and relied on each actor playing multiple parts. Several corny 'jump' scenes relied more on a loud sound effect and movement instead of actual suspense and emotion. Glad I saw it but wouldn't bother going again.

The performance was great. But unfortunately the seating ruined it for me. Came out with cramps because of severe lack of leg room. I understand it's a older theatre but maybe more could be done.

Needs refurbishment. The lack of legroom is unbearable and that makes a really uncomfortable experience. Amazing staff though. The play is excellent, but that's not what we're reviewing here.

It's an older venue, but it was a fabulous performance execution and experience! I watched The Woman in Black for the first time with a friend and we had a blast. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the play, so they were also able to update us on the narrative setting after we were a few min late and I had to run off to the toilet . They also served ice cream during the intermission. It was a great night out.
