So we went to obviously see a play or so we thought. I being a modest man of 6ft 3 could not sit comfortably in the chairs. I kept apologising to the lady infrount of me who i became very intermet with as to my wife and her husband great amusement. My legs wrapped around her and the row infrount sort of sit in your lap. My knees kept touching her cheeks. I tryed to keep still but cramp kept setting in. Anyway the play was so bad i feel asleep only to wake up as i kneed the lady in front in the face. Bad place bad play tiny bar just no Never ever again.

Helpful box office staff, who gave us a very good discount on the expensive seats for the lady in black. He said they are offering the discounted seats as they are losing out to the internet and discount places.

great small and intimate theatre. its a nice change to the big and busy theatres in the west end. bar had a great selection and staff was super friendly and helpful.

Really lovely staff, we were greeted and upgraded on arrival to watch Woman in Black. Fantastic show would recomend. This was a 50 Birthday treat and was everything and more brilliant service.

The Woman in Black is one of the oldest and (in my opinion) best West End experiences out there.

That said...if you are tall, pay more for a seat where you can stretch your legs. I saw most of the crowd wincing when getting up at intermission. The stalls will make sure you see all the action (a bit hard to see everything from the Dress Circle), but I was most jealous of those in boxes for the leg room!

We went to see the Woman In Black. It was AMAZING! On first impressions I was a little because the theatre is a little tired and very small. The seating is SO SMALL even at 5 2 my knees were touching the barrier in front. Anyone tall would not have a comfortable time. I was also worried that the stage was dressed in very few props. I wondered what could be done with so few items. My first impressions couldn t have been more wrong! The show was gripping from start to finish! I didn t even have time to think about being a little cramped. The show consisted of three actors and a few props and a lot of imagination! It was truly FANTASTIC! I am so impressed. I highly recommend this show! The only downside was that the toilets are tiny, they do need to have more room in them and to allow all ladies time to use and get back to their seat in time during the interval, then they need to have more toilets installed (somewhere).

We came here tonight to watch The Woman in Black and what a performance! We had heard good things about the show but nothing compared to seeing it in person. It was absolutely fantastic. The staff were all cheery and happy to help, the actors were fantastic and it was a decent sized venue. We were in the upper circle at the barrier and the bar did get in the way somewhat but that was mentioned before booking. Well worth a go, and the tickets were cheap for London at 25 a head!

We went to see The Woman in Black here. What a fantastic show! Unfortunately I am 6 ft 3 and the seats in the fortune are just not made for me. There is a very minimum leg space and the seats themselves are very upright and uncomfortable, not great for watching a long show. Plus at half time, the men's toilet was non existent, there was only one disabled toilet for all of the men attending. This needs to be addressed.

On a positive, it is a beautiful little Theatre and is pristine. Just make sure you are a short woman and you will be fine!

I'm not one who normally writes reviews but after coming to watch The Woman In Black on Saturday I thought I'd make an exception. The play itself was really enjoyable and the actors were fantastic. The reason I'm posting this is in the hopes that someone who works at the theatre reads this....please take a can of oil and spray all of the seats in the theatre!! The squeaking from the chairs every time someone moved was really distracting and I am amazed that anyone could concentrate on what was happening on stage...including the actors!!

I attended (a woman in black) and everything was wonderful and beautiful place and the play and actors. Great place to sit upstairs first or second middle rows. The play produced a few depends on the performance and words of the actor more than anything second is necessary to understand the excellent English to enjoy the play and possible become boring for young. I bought the tickets from the (TCT) office of Lancaster Square the same day and they were honest with me in terms of the place like what I bought. I advise looking at the story of the play in a simple way before the audience to be on line with them.

Lovely little theatre. A bit tired in places but it has a wonderful intimate feeling to it that works perfectly for a play like 'The Woman In Black'. We sat on the front row of the dress circle and with the view we had it felt like we were watching it from the comfort of our own home, as the stage was framed perfectly like a television screen. We would definitely recommend the theatre and the show was breathtaking, so it's a must see!

Fantastically intimate venue for staging of the Woman in black. This is possible my favourite play, I've seen it twice here and both cast and venue were perfect, complimenting each other excellently.

The women in black was an amazing performance and the theatre offered great confectionery. The food was a tad pricy so I recommend bringing some of your own stuff and only purchasing the essentials. Even though some of the staff were a tad anxiety they were largely helpful and charming I certainly would say go and see this show

Great show, and staff lovely. But the theatre is like stepping back in time. No conception of how customers need to flow to use the facilities such as bars and toilets. Needs a bit of a rethink for the public areas. I think Americans might say it was "quaint"!

Saw The Woman in Black Thurs 9th. Staff were lovely and very helpful, a credit to the theatre.
Theatre is classic and old, could do with a subtle refresh. Seats were comfortable (I was in dress circle row D6) had an excellent view of the stage.
It was a matinee I would say the actors are brilliant, however the older male was a bit hard to hear at times.

Very helpful staff but the toilets are tiny. And I believe the ladies have a harder time in the WCs than the gentlemen!
Ice cream was extortionately-priced but I guess that is indicative of London.

We visited to see the woman in black, which was fantastic. The theatre is small but lovely, and the staff were super helpful, they advised on how to beat the queues for the loos at the interval and also offer a pre order service for intervals to bring refreshments to your seat. Fantastic night all around.

It was completely different experience with the theatre. Inside you can feel a bit odd but it when you see the performance it add more mystery to the play which makes more interesting to watch. The actors were highly professional and the play involved completely. I highly recommend to see it and have slight confusion of what is real and what is not!

A wonderful old theatre. We saw Woman in Black there. Really great show. Just a heads-up.... I'm about 6-04. I couldn't fit in the seats. My knees were jammed against the seat in front of me. Suggest you other tall guys ask for seats where that will be less of a problem. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Went to see "Woman in Black" my first time at a play and it was great, very atmospheric and great acting, shame about the giggling schoolkids, however that's probably due to it being a matinee show.

Four of us who regularly visit Theatres went to see the Woman in Black and we had a bad experience here at the Fortune Theatre in London. We had seats in row B of the upper circle. The seats were totally unacceptable as they were so close to the seats in front that we were unable to lower the seat flat to a 90 degree angle, instead the seat was like a bucket and we had to sit at a 45 degree angle which was incredibly uncomfortable. My partner who is almost 6 foot tall had terrible pains in his legs as a result of the cramped conditions. If you suffer from back problems you would be unable to use these seats. Unfortunately the play didn't live up to the great reviews that we had read about it and we had a disappointing evening.

A old school London theatre the inner workings of which are a little dated and simplistic by modern standards.

Seats are a little on the small size at 6ft 4inch I was certainly at the top end of what these seats can accommodate.

They pretty much exclusively show the lady in black in this theatre, a show originally designed on a shoe string, it is a little boring and doesn't compete with modern stories being told at theatres a stone's throw away. One hopes management sees sense and brings in a new production keeping the values of the theatre alive and well.

Staff are great friendly and knowledgeable.

Saw The Woman in Black, it was brilliant and a fabulous little place to see it. The sound was excellent considering none of the actors wore a microphone, the stage was fantastic as was the view from the mid level. The decor is a little different from the usual modern sights of that there London but a must if you can. The seats don't seem to have changed layout since it was built either but if you get your knees just right it's a different world.

A theatre where someone of my height (6ft 7in / 201cm) actually had enough space for the legs! Then, secondly, the play "The Woman In Black" was amazing, and the break inbetween the acts went well.
