If you're doing the tourist thing this is definite...
If you're doing the tourist thing this is definitely one of the boxes to check off in San Francisco.
If you're doing the tourist thing this is definitely one of the boxes to check off in San Francisco.
It was an adventure finding the place but it was a great gem to see fortune cookies being made.
Must visit if you are in Chinatown. Make a fortune... For real!
In the middle of chinatown, nice fortune cookies, funny and giood flavior
Crowded place but unique to get a personal fortune put inside a freshly made cookie.
Cute place, but not easy to find if you're on your own. Would suggest a Taxi because the driver pointed us in the right direction. Shop is small with merchandise from the front door to a few feet in. Best part is watching the 2 ladies making the fortune cookies right there in front of you. Pay the 50 cents to take pictures or add a little more to take picture next to the ladies forming the cookies.
This was a totally unique place to visit. It is located in an alley which adds to the experience. There was a line to enter the store and the line moved fast. Know how much you want to spend on fortune cookies before getting to the cash. It was a very quick visit but the owner was charming and seeing them make the cookies while we were there was fascinating. It is an assembly line and you feel like you are in one as well as you shuffle through. As you leave with freshly made warm cookies it's hard not to smile and embrace the vibrancy of San Francisco.
Great little place, it's in an alleyway so don't be scared to go, very nice place
what a disappointment!! A small room with one lady folding dough into a cookie with some pictures of honoraries on the wall. worn out depressed people not at all happy to be there. attitude and grumpiness is all we experienced. not worth it as tourist destination. waste of time! use your time for some more valuable historical points.
If you're in the area it's worth stopping by for a minute. Otherwise, don't go out of your way to visit.
This is a hidden gem and such a fun place to visit. It's fascinating to watch the little old ladies expertly wrap and fold the cookies. There's delicious samples, a charge of 50 cents to take a photo and for $1.50 you can write your own fortune and have it wrapped!
It is not really a factory but more of a small kitchen but if you are in Chinatown it is definitely worth a visit
This one is easy to miss. Its located in a small alley and only a small sign is hanging outside. You should stop by here on during your visit in chinatown. You can smell the cookies when you enter and the give you usually a free sample of the cookie before it has the little piece of paper inside. This company is a part of chinatowns history.
Place was a lot smaller than anticipated and the workers looked sad, it was free though so at least there is that
Not an easy find but very fascinating!! Got a free sample and overheard one of the tour guides talk about the history.
Iconic place to visit.
Last factory where Chinese fortune cookies are made by hand.
This is a place that briefly appears on the movie in pursuit of happiness.
You can customize your cookie is great to give news or something to say. The place is small but they are details
This little hole-in-an-alley place is suprisingly well worth the trip! Yes it is in the alley
Fun to visit. Cookies are a good price, very fresh, and taste good!
Small shop in an alley way. Smells phenomenal, the cookies are a bit pricey. Like $5 for a bag. Cool experience in Chinatown not more than an half hour tho.
Must for anyone visiting chinatown and the surrounding area. this is a historical laboratory where fortune cookies are produced. you can see the workers at work and choose different types of cookies. the biscuit wafer is simple but very good. I prefer the green one with the taste of herbal tea. You can't miss this place
Good but small place! Got free sample walking in. Have to pay a tip for pictures which was fine. Very cramped place but had good selection for fortune cookie lovers to buy from!
This was a very cool place to visit while in San Francisco! Less factory, more a station where someone is making the cookies, it is still cool to see... if you hang out for a minute and watch the person expertly place and fold hot-off-the-press cookies into the shape we all know and love. They even are nice enough to give you a sample castoff or two, and with my purchase she slipped in a small handful of the castoffs. A nice snack while walking around Chinatown waiting for the hotel to be ready. I would highly recommend a visit here. Stop and read the signs in the alley, describing how the alleys of Chinatown originally came about, and some interesting facts about an area with a long history in San Francisco.
Not much of a tour you just walk in buy and walk out but I tell you what those are the best damn fortune cookies in the world
You must go!! I made my personalized furtune cookie for 1$ super cute!!
Who doesn't love fortune cookies. Fun little place off the main streets of China Town.
This is a must-do while in Chinatown. Where else can you sample hot fortune cookies off the line?
Watch them make your cookies, or have custom one made. Cash only.
The cookies are delicious and the staff are so friendly. My family and I loved watching the cookies get made!
Don t waste your time, just want you to queue and buy cookies, lady serving handles money as well as the food, not nice!
Great spot tucked away in an alley. All they do is fortune cookies! Many different varieties, but the real fun is making your own. Write down a fortune, hand it to the lady, and she folds it into a cookie on the spot, inside a cute little to-go box.
If you've never been here, go! The line might be out the door, but it's worth the wait. You'll see the cookies made right in front of you while you choose what you want.
Delicious fortune cookies and you can see how they're made. But they are very expensive unfortunately. Nice to see if you are visiting SF Chinatown area.
Awesome little gem. A cool little unique experience and a cool little souvenir to scoop up
A must visit while you are here. So cool to see the cookies being made and they hand out samples. You can also wrote notes and they'll put it in a cookie (great way to propose )
this is a must see little place is making a fortune
Delish fortune cookies. Gave us so much to us on to go
It's a place to go if you're into nostalgia.. fresh made fortune cookies or just the pre folded cookie sheets.. the staff is nice and always smiling..
Absolutely loved it! You get to see the ladies in action making those fortune cookies. Highly recommend!
Great cookies and a fantastic place to take these kind of pictures that will produce a Wowwww in your friends
This is a small tight fit to see the production process. The cookies are good, especially the samples. The employees may not seem excited to get their picture taken but they did smile. This is a 30 second tour so the line outside goes pretty fast.
Neat little place, yummy cookies and fun fortunes. They give out samples and extra cookies!
The best tasting Chinese cookie you will ever taste.
Tiny little tourist gem hidden in Chinatown. They have every type of fortune cookie imaginable... including "adult" themed ones.
Not only can you see exactly how fortune cookies are made, but they often offer samples and you can customize your fortune messages.
Very cool stop. Small store front in the alley with room for just 10 visitors. Can have custom made cookies made for cheap.
Family friendly place to visit if you are walking through Chinatown. Parking is a challenge at this location.
Disappointed. No tours offered. Literally one room measuring 10 feet by 15 feet, and located in an alley. Not missing much if you don't stop by. I will say that their cookies and tasty, tough.
Worked with Kevin to make some fortune cookies for our school. Was an amazing experience. Must see for anyone visiting San Francisco!
Super cool place. Hot and fresh cookies are the best!!
Cool little tourist spot. The factory is very small so don't expect a tour. It is basically walk in, look around, buy some cookies if you choose to, then walk out.
Tasty cookies and not that long of a line. An important part of SF history to see.
Small fortune cookie factory. Great taste though :)
Variety of cookies. You're in & out and leave with tasty fortune cookies. Complimentary gift bag & samples.
Alot more Chinese people than you'd think in chinatown.
Neat place tucked in an alley like a hidden gem. Very friendly owners and free samples. Make sure you seek this place out when in china Town.
Not sure what makes a good fortune cookie. But it was interesting to see
It was a famous place in history, so there were many people.
You can get huge cookie fortune or different types.
Very small bake shop with very unique experience. Hiding in the drive way, the place turning to whole new experience level quest to find the shop. But it is worth it.
You can watch the fortune-cookie machine at action and feel Chinese hospitality. You can chat with owner and learn quick history about Chinese-American food and, yeah, fortune cookie like perfect example of san francisco the best invention.
Not much to drink besides water & soda, but the best cookies!
Wonderful fortune cookies. You can put your own notes in them!
Delicious and warm fortune cookies! Definitely a great souvenir for friends and family.
Awesome place, tucked into a alleyway in the middle of Chinatown.
Delicious cookies in the store but staff are not friendly in general. This is not a museum or something even close. Just a store with very little "showroom" that can be completely packed by 4-5 people
Located in an alley in Chinatown, there was a line but goes fast. Fast service if you're just picking up the pre-made cookies, which are the original. They also come in several different flavors and chocolate covered.
Good alternative of Cantonese cuisine in San Francisco. Regarding the service is not the same as the food. But, I can say that we enjoy a good dinner.
Fun to see how the fortune cookies are made. The smell of fresh cookies was great!
Very small factory, but extremely entertaining, informative, and more importantly authentic.
Good variety of fortune cookies, including sweet flavors and x-rated fortunes. Fun gift to bring to a gathering, for instance.
You may get free biscuits while in line. You may write the small bits of paper by yourself at the desk. Then they are put inside the cookie. The offer is hard to be customized: 1 cookie + 1 box = 1 $ OR 2 cookies + 1 box = 1.50 $. When I added an extra package of cookies worth 6 $ the cashier wanted 10 $ instead of the 9 $ I expected to pay. I had to insist to have my dollar back. Whach out, you tourist!
I San Francisco treat and treasure! Do not miss it!
Chinese fortune cookies factory. People are seen at work. You can have your cookies personalized with your message.
