Heading out to a new town on an early morning in near freezing temperatures with two young kids in the midst of a pandemic today was not exactly thrilling. We happened upon Foolish Craig s Cafe and it was one of our favorite dining experiences to date for my husband and I. The staff (Craig, Mitch and Meg) were SO friendly, welcoming, and fun to chat with. The food was wonderful and we were so excited to have real glass mugs for our coffee instead of disposable cups and real menus instead of having to use our phones. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Definitely stop here if you re in the area!

Burnt food, slow service. Fun vibe and has potential. Would rule it out completely, obviously from other reviews it has good food and service other times. My experience was less than favorable.

I ve been to Boulder several times and have special fond memories of the place. I had just hiked 4 miles in Chautauqua state park and needed a nice warm casual cozy joint. I looked on trip advisor and was on my way to a highly rated restaurant and ended up walking behind a local couple who were talking about how good this restaurant was that they were heading to. So I followed them in. Apparently this place has been in diners drive-ins and dives, but it really didn t strike me as any of those. It s a noisy bustling fast-paced restaurant with humongous portions of food. People here seem happy, the wait staff is very efficient, and the place is packed. Being a solo traveler, I d much rather spend time here and sitting at a fancy restaurant with nothing to do. Sports TV was on, and being a New England Patriots fan, It was great to see all of the pre-Super Bowl hype. I think I was the only person watching it. The breakfast menu is expansive and the portions I saw coming out of the kitchen could feed a family. I ordered spinach walnut salad with Salmon. It came out in 10 minutes. Delicious! And reasonably priced. I d cinevhere again!

After reading all the great reviews, I was truly disappointed with my expierence.

The food was ok, but I wouldn't travel out of my way again to come here for it. The French toast was fine, but the strawberries on top had a very strange taste, and they were more brown than red for sure. The chai tea was decent though.

Our waiter seemed less then enthusiastic about serving us. Brought our drinks, plopped them down and left. No splenda on our table for coffee, so we asked the table next to us since the waiter ran off so fast. Came back 10 minutes later and took our order. Which he seemed almost disappointed with our choices. Gone again before we could mention that we needed refills on the drinks. Brought the food 15- 20 minutes later with one of the orders wrong. I said it was fine because I was starving and just wanted something in my stomach. We are able to ask him for coffee refills this time, which he got. Again plopped down less then gracefully and ran off. We were finished eating (and with empty cups again) and waiting for the check when he came back another 15+ minutes later to see how everything was. When he brought the tablet over for payment he was magically cheery and friendly.
I left more of a tip than he deserved because I know and understand what working in the service industry is like. And outs not his fault I didn't send my food back. But there should be no excuse for barely taking care of your tables.

Overall, this next time I want crappy service and a sub- par breakfast, I'll go to waffle house or Denny's for a lot cheaper.

I had the corned beef hash with eggs over easy. The eggs were cooked a tiny bit more than I like them but we're still very well prepared. The corned beef hash was fantastic. The corned beef was in chunks instead of the usual shred and so were the potatoes. there were also bite sized pics of pepper and onion that still had a bit of snap left in them. There was a sprinkle of fresh herbs on top of it all. It was an enjoyable experience. Also the coffee was decent and the service was fast and friendly. A fine place to get breakfast. On another side note, my friend ordered a Ruben that looked to have the same corned beef in it. She thought it was great.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere was fantastic. The server was really nice and helpful.
The chorizo I had mixed into my eggs and tasted great. The crepes looked good. The French toast was interesting.
The best part is that there was no wait, where next door at Snooze had almost a 2 hour wait. And I ve been there before, and Snooze is not worth that wait.

Waiters are a bit to young consciously to be real concerned about their customers, and actually were offputting, not the one who waited on me. But the couple who were following each other were annoying. Thick dust and coffee beans spilled in plain view that no one felt it was their job to handle... Halloween crud all over 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I asked for the check so I wouldn't get a ticket and it took 15 or more minutes, and I got handed a machine I've never seen before. I didn't like that germy thing.

My family and I have been coming here for a few decades, probably my favorite place to eat breakfast in Boulder. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is always fun if no matter where you sit. The staff is always spot on!

It was a little bit of a rainy day and we initially wanted to eat at the mountain sun but there was a 60min wait. So we walked down the street and stepped into Foolish craigs. It was filled with smoke and smelt like someone had burnt More

I would give this place 5 stars...but...a few weeks ago I was sitting at the bar and two employees were arguing VISCOUISLY behind the bar on two separate occasions within a 20 minute time frame. One younger girl (skinny, short, dyed hair, never stopped talking and swinging around the bar) and a gentleman (who was extremely accommodating and friendly and professional) were involved in the conflict. It was incredibly uncomfortable. The gentleman she was arguing with didn't seem to do anything wrong and attempted to mediate the situation and clearly attempted to drag the argumentative employee to the back room so not to be unprofessional in front of customers.

Normally a wonderful place to grab a late breakfast with an amazing bar selection.

I have literally never left a bad review for ANYWHERE but this behavior was UNAACEPTABLE.

I work in the service industry and I understand the stress and the daily disrespect servers deal with but this was incredibly immature to witness.

So unprofessional, so bothersome, and so uncomfortably rude to her coworkers.

Ugh I'm already regretting the fallout from this post but I really need to relay this information...

Nice diner. Had breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, toast, hash and coffee. Bacon was great quality. Took them a little long to make food, even though they were pretty empty, customer service was alright.

I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats and apparently the Uber Eats drivers stole my meal TWICE! Since it was picked up twice and never delivered. The owner of the restaurant called me to sincerely apologize and to let me know that he was coming to deliver my meal himself. The chicken and waffles were delicious! The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the waffles were fluffy. Highly recommend this restaurant for it s great food and excellent customer service as well.

Thanks for wasting my time! I definitely felt foolish coming into this place. I waited over an hour for Reuben sandwich. I patiently watched patrons come and go. Waitress checked in once and I still didn't get my food. When I saw customers come in sit down, get served their food, right next to me!! I was done, staff was Unapologetic Cooks were laughing behind the bar. No excuse for this poor service. Still Paid for my drink and left. SMH 7) 591-9191 if you care to correct.

I don't often leave reviews, and I have no complaints about the food, but service was terrible. Two staff were arguing and cursing right in front of myself and other customers sitting at the bar during the entire visit. If that weren't bad enough, service to customers was neglected in doing so. Very unprofessional.

HORRIBLE SERVICE: Took my assistant to breakfast for her birthday and she wanted to go here. I am on a very limited diet plan for the month of november but didn't think it would be that hard to order three egg whites and one egg scrambled with little to no oil if possible. The waitress was super annoyed with me from the start asking for water with no ice. Then it escalated when I got my eggs and it def didn't look like 4 eggs (huge mound) so I tried confirming there was no milk or anything else added in. She explained it may be a few more eggs due to the fact that they "scoop or ladle the eggs into the pan". I didn't understand so I continued to ask questions. She literally huffed and rolled her eyes as if I was taking all of her time even though she only had one other table who was currently eating. I maintained a calm and kind demeanor for the remainder of the meal knowing that its not fun dealing with consumers food issues. She dropped the check, I reviewed it and realized my little egg combo was $11.00. When I tried to ask questions again, she explained that it was just the way she had to enter it in the computer. I said ok... but $11.00 for 1 egg and three egg whites? Are they organic? Local? Nope. She said she would talk to the manager.... from my chair I could hear her disgust. When she returned, I explained that I was sorry I was so much trouble for her but that I didn't think I warranted her short and rude behavior with me. She said she wasn't. I said ok... but it certainly felt like it from both of us. She left the table and walked over to the owner where again, I could hear her explain how I had this order and then didn't like the pricing and then I said she was rude. Tackless. Due to the layout of the floor, my assistant walked by her on the way out the door... she paused long enough for us to squeeze by. Sad.

I've only ever been to Foolish Craig's when Snooze's has over an hour wait. Which happens quite a lot, but every time I have been there I was not disappointed. The food is good, the service can be a little better however. Sometimes the hostess would be confused or disorganized, but this isn't a normal behavior from them. Overall my experience has been great, and I've been going there more and more regardless of the wait time at Snooze just because the service and food have been consistently above average.

OMG, my wife got huevos and had avocado added, however much of the avocado was bad, see photo. Waitress was nice, however when we pointed out the bad avacado, she didn't apologize just said she'd take the extra charge off the bill. When we first arrived we waited around for someone (hostess) to help us or least communicate but nothing. My wife had to track someone down to just find out if we could be seated. Hostess was really struggling unable to communicate with us. My French toast at $10 was average, felt over priced for what I had. I hadn't been here for many years and not going back. There are better options out there, don't bother. Visited on 7/22/19 in the morning.

I really like this place just for the homey feel, good location, and lack of pretension. It also helps that the food is good, the service is good, and there seems to be a fair level of consciousness devoted to keeping things healthy and real. I'm a fan of their Tempeh Reubens - one of only two places that I've ever found serving them - I always ask for a bit of extra sauerkraut just because that's how I like it.

Walked in with a "I'm a hungry, grumpy bear" face. Walked out with a "damn that was good, smiley" face. The spinach dip was as marvelous as the server, and the nutella and banana desert crepe warmed my soul. This is a must stop.

I did some tile work in the kitchen for Steel Raven Industries who was contracted by Foolish Craig's that was started about three weeks ago. I was lied to by the owner of Steel Raven Bryce Hansen about the rate of pay. I pulled off the job due to the issue and my progress payment check for $1500 was canceled by Bryce. This has made me bounce checks for the labor that I paid out. I was owed much more than just that since the bill is $3078.44 even at the agreed rate for the work completed. This has left me in a terrible situation and is taking food from my fiance's mouth which she needs to support our baby that she's carrying. I am currently going through the legal process of getting a lien on this building and the home of Bryce Hansen. I ask that all of you please refrain from being a patron to this establishment until this issue has been resolved. Thank you and happy holidays.

Foolish Craig's has great food! I ordered the The Porktastic (it's Sacrilicious) Crepe (Pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, onions, pear apple marmalade, sweet soy) and it was outstanding! Eating outside on the picnic tables in the morning sun was a pleasure! It's great for a date breakfast!

I always love my meal here. For breakfast, they are quite simply the best in Boulder, maybe all of Colorado. The servers are kind and attentive. It seems like they're actually happy to be working there, and coming from someone who has worked their share of food service, that's hard to come by. The warm brie is on point. And the Foolish Huevos is a vegetarian dream. Foolish Craig's is fast becoming my favorite restaurant.
