We were looking for a good crepes place and this place came up in a search. When we walked in the atmosphere was more like a local greasy spoon restaurant. The experience matched the atmosphere. We ordered crepes which were highly disappointing. Certainly not the French type of crepes we had in mind:-) If you re looking for traditional thin crepes, stay away from this place.
Went in for a late breakfast, and we waited for an hour. The kitchen forgot to fire one of my friends' orders, and the rest of our orders sat in the heat lamp. By the time our orders came out, most were dried out and crusty. Our waiter had a bit of an attitude about the situation, and seemed to only care about the table of his friends. Until today, I've had good experiences but I likely won't be returning.
Menu looked great, execution was not... picked up a togo order and watched an overworked line chef have to stop what she was doing to check out customers while most of the restaurants food sat in the window waiting for a couple touches from the line chef, a bartender fixed a drink and then sat looking at their phone instead of helping to check out, I believe the owner finally checked me out, asked if I needed silverware three times and then forgot one of the food items that was paid for, biscuits were burnt, tenders were cold, and the crepes were disappointing
Best bang for the buck in Boulder. This was the first and last place I went to after 8.5 years in Boulder. Foolish Heart, Crispy Chicken Salad and the Cuban were my go-to's. If you're looking for a diverse menu, that's affordable, with a chill vibe-this is it.
Great food, gravy was cold but server was quick to bring hot cup full . Over all very satisfied.
Overall, this was a good experience. The wait time was slightly shorter than the projected 45 minutes. The service wasn't especially speedy, but not especially slow, either. Our waiter seemed appropriately concerned for our enjoyment. We almost didn't get our bacon, though, until we brought it up. The bacon was excellent, but the omelet was a little dry. Still good, though.
There's not much to say about Foolish Craig's. I have been here a handful of times over the years and nothing has ever stood out in a good or bad way.
It's pretty good. The dishes seem to be hit or miss. Very good waffle but the Benedict had overly-runny eggs and bland hollandaise. Honestly, I much prefer Snooze.
We had a great breakfast there and the staff was amazing!!
This place has always been just fine. Been going off and on since 2011, and always get reminded of why I don't typically come back.
The food is good- I d call it 4 stars... but the service?? 100 stars! Absolutely lovely staff.
My husband & I chose this restaurant from Trip Advisor & could not have been more satisfied with both food & service. I had the Cuban sandwich with house-cut fries & he had the Chicken Salad on a baguette with the pasta side salad. Both over-the-top delicious! He had the Citridelic IPA... really enjoyed! Our Server, Megan, was friendly & very efficient.
Foolish Craig's is kind of a Boulder institution, especially for a chill, cozy breakfast downtown without a lot of waiting around for a table. It can get a bit packed in there. Recipes are not too exotic but pretty classic and honed over the years to be reliably tasty. The breakfast potatoes are great. Prices are standard. Parking can be a little difficult, go early to avoid the Pearl Street crowd.
Foolish Craigs is an amazing dining experience. Today was the 2nd time my wife and I went for a date to Foolish Craig's and they didn't disappoint. Service is amazing, the covid seating is outside but still a joy to be at, and after trying different foods for our 2nd date...the food is spectacular as always. I'd come here again soon and recommend it to anyone looking for a good Boulder Brunch joint!
This joint is totally old school Colorado in all the best ways. If you are in Boulder, and looking for an authentic experience as to what we love about this state, stop in here! I had the fish and eggs, and it was on point. Our waitress, Carolyn, was amazing. Thanks for the good vibes to the start of our day!
Excellent food, slow waiter, and extremely expensive.
Just in from Florida and walking the downtown area. Stopped in at Foolish Craig s for lunch, great choice. Had the Cobb Salad and was amazing, great portion size. Weather was perfect, outside tables.
They were able to handle a large group on short notice, with strange dietary needs with minimal wait times. I would recommend the santa Fe burger, absolutely delicious!
Services but slow but I did come at an off time even though that shouldn't be an excuse
Don't be fooled by the perception of crepes, these crepes are a good hearty meal.
We loved Foolish's Craig's! We came in for lunch time at sat at the bar. The food, drinks, and service were all phenomenal. Highly recommended!
Incredible food! A little bit of a wait on a Sunday morning but WORTH IT!!
Great food, terrible service :( After waiting for 10 min we had to finally ask a guy walking around filling up water glasses to put in our order. After we had to go ask the hostess for the check then had to ask a different waitress for the check. We almost got up and left.
The food was excellent but the service was terrible :(
Reasonably priced drinks and food for being on Pearl St.
Breakfast tacos are amazing. Great environment and staff.
One of the best brunch places in Boulder. Lots of food and decent prices. It can get busy at times.
We tried this place on a whim. It s amazing. Try the eggs Benedict
Great gluten free options and yummy food! Service is also awesome!
Fast service, great food. I liked the Benedicts with avocado, tomatoes and spinach.
We hadn't been to Foolish Craig's in a long, long time and decided it was time to go back. The food was very good, served hot and fresh, not long of a wait when we were there. The Mac and Cheese is not your kids' mac and cheese, in a really good spicy way. We thought we remembered more crepe options (there are only two dinner crepes now) but it's all made up for with a crepe cake for dessert.
Excellent local eatery. The Chorizo Benedict was good and the butter rum caramel crepe cake was amazing. Have it for breakfast or dessert!
I'd like to tell you how the food is but I've been waiting over an hour and still haven't gotten it.
My all time favorite brunch spot in Boulder. Foods great, lots of vegetarian options, and great cocktails too! If you go try the sunrise mimosa it is to die for!
The breakfast we had here was just okay. The corned beef hash was tough. The potatoes and coffee were good. The crepes were cold. There's loud music at 9:30 in the morning if your into that. Personally, not a fan.
This place is like Chipotle but 500x better and with a bar
A solid breakfast for sure. The breakfast tacos with tempeh were fire.
Solid little breakfast joint. Definitely get here early to avoid the rush, but their eggs benedicts are great, and the coffee they serve is locally roasted and will get you perky AF in no time.
Yummy burger, decadent bacon , gluten free bun (thank you). Sweet potato fries are excellent and gluten free - the regular fries have gluten containing coating (FYI). My companion's eggs looked perfect, along with the brie plate. Very friendly and safe service. Inside and outside dining available. Next time I'm going to have to try the Reuben- looked like it would be one of the best.
Great staff and great food! The Reuben is ridiculously wonderful just as is the corned beef hash
I love Foolish. Their grab and go is NOT as advertised.
It's cozy but with it. Skip snooze next door; this is local and legit.
It was okay, saw it on DDD and we love DDD so we had to try it. Average priced and everything overpowered the crepes. I might try again and just try a breakfast crepe or the mac and cheese.
Unsanitary, vegetables were not fresh, would not come here again
Craig is a venerable Boulder institution worth a visit. Recently written up by one of those big city papers back East as a cutting edge crepe place, I thought the author might have been this restaurant's namesake.
The best place in boulder. Hands down. My favorite memory.
My favorite restaurant in Boulder. Unique interior, nice patio seating, delicious food. Perfect brunch spot. Light years ahead of Snooze.
I maple + ... two things Foolish Craig's does very well. The baked Brie dish is so deliciously. I'd eat it at least once a week if I could. It's definitely one of my favorite spots in Boulder proper.
Good food! Location is fun and inviting! Always fun to visit Boulder and try the local foods! Definitely a must try!
Always great food. Service can take a while a times, but it's a popular spot. Always worth it in the end.
The caramel crepe stack has 21 layers. I'll be back!
I never leave Colorado without a visit to Foolish Craig's. I effing love this place. Great vegetarian options as well.
Great food, fun and easy going atmosphere, pleasant servers, very cost effective, can't beat breakfast all day to.
The country fried steak and gravy was on point. I was a bit worried but it tasted like back home in Nashville, good southern taste. Love this cute little spot!!
Great atmosphere! Great service! We loved the breakfast options
It was good the waitress didn't come to table to often, needed refills for drinks. But only came back once
AWFUL SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unexpectedly stumbled upon this place. Got seated right away on a Friday evening. It took forever for someone to come over to our table to greet us. Finally someone came, walked up to the table, and could hardly say hello to greet us. Since we were waiting so long for someone to come to our table, we knew what we wanted right away. We ordered two appetizers and two drinks first. After waiting another 15 minutes, we will had nothing on our table. We saw our server hanging around the bar, counting his money, and tending to other tables. We grew so annoyed that we got up and left. We told our server we were leaving. He had asked if something was wrong and we told him that we have been waiting for 15 minutes and still didn't even ha e our drinks. He said nothing and out the door we went. It's too bad because the food smelled and looked so good.
Go here for the awesome breakfast crepes. The place is a strong competitor (and alternative) to the out-of-control popular Snooze next door.
Excellent place to get breakfast or lunch while in Boulder. Great menu that caters to different needs and tastes. And they have cocktails!
This place is less expensive than Snooze next door, but you get what you pay for; I found the food quality to be subpar. I would recommend Snooze, instead.
45 minute wait for take out. 16$ breakfast that tasted like Denny's. #supersadtogetrippedoff.
Some of the best food in Boulder! Friendly staff, very enjoyable place. Never a disappointment.
Good breakfast! Lots of choices. Gluten free stuff as well!
Had to wait 45 min for a table on Sunday which is totally understandable, but also had to wait about an hour for our food which was mediocre at best. Fries were frozen that they put in fryer, my Belgian waffle was a joke, and got very feeble potatoes as my side. Overall not even close to worth the wait nor money.
Way overrated, uncomfortably small and always crowded. I don't understand the appeal, the food was very bland and the service was mediocre.
Food was pretty terrible. Service was okay. Kind of disappointing considering this place is supposedly legendary.
Service is terrible. I sat in the booth for 20 minutes without even being looked at by the snotty waitress. Now I m eating at snooze.
Love this restaurant, one of Boulder's best for breakfast!
Food was not the same as I remember it being before, it was still great just different
good burgers, nice service, great price, chef served us personally because his brother was visiting
Great portions and great drinks. We got brunch here and it was fantastic. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict. The breakfast sandwich was also great!
We had an awesome experience and the food was amazing. Our server was amazing!!!
This place is really good for a quiet breakfast. The food is good, they also have GF options.
Bustling and funky little boho cafe w delicious crepes.
Not usually a fan of crepes but theirs was so fluffy and flavorful!
Got the BLT w/Guac. The baguette bread was phenomenal, and the house potatoes AND house potato chips are a massive highlight.
Great for a brunch date, but expect some wait time
Had the burger with blue cheese and cucumber, it was fantastic. Sweet potato fries were also good.
