Delicious dinner, great place for a family celebration.
Delicious dinner, great place for a family celebration.
Unpretentious. Accommodating service. There were 19 of us, and they did an excellent job serving us.
Lovely white bean soup du jour and roasted beet salad starters. Excellent classic gnocchi and orichetta -- all homemade. Wonderful wine pairings as well.
A favorite. Genteel, classy decor -- a good place for quiet conversation. Understated Italian food (not over top Italian-American). Impeccable service.
My daughter and I went to to this restaurant on a Tuesday night. The service, right from the get go, was spectacular! Our waiter was exceptional, giving us some great suggestions. I ordered their special and it was the best pasta I have ever had. My daughter's had a simple pasta with spices and it was phenomenal! Overall this is a great, reasonably-priced restaurant that has great food for any night of the week!
Came here for lunch. Rigatoni buttera and margherita pizza were great. Mussels were so-so, but since my 7 year old ate the entire pizza I can't complain.
What an awesome place to eat, food and service were fantastic, prompt and friendly.... what more can you ask for... price was pretty reasonable as well
very nice place and atmosphere
food: the only thing which is OK was the minestrone
one of my favorites - solid italian cooking, but with many light choices and seafood options. i come back for the seven vegetable salad!
Great service, very tasty food and nice outdoor sitting. Love it!!
The new location is extremely noisy. I had to yell my order to the waiter and it was impossibly to have a conversation. The chairs were also uncomfortable. The food was very good but very expensive. I had, what was essentially macaroni and cheese and it cost $15.
From the valet parking to the waiters, management, work team in general and the food all excellent
If I ever visit Chicago again , I won't want to miss lunch at Coco Pazzo Cafe!!!! Excellent food and excellent service.
Really great food. The manager came around frequently to all the tables. I had an outstanding Manhattan from the bar. Reservations highly recommended.
We were stopped by to have a drink killing the time had beer and appetizer. Bar was nice
Delicious! The staff is super friendly. Loved the passion fruit sorbet for dessert!!
Really nice place. Had dinner w a friend, rsvp since it a smaller place. Food was good, service was great.
Our 1st restaurant experience in Chicago and it was a good one. Excellent service and the food was great.
The ambiance and the food are wonderful. I ordered the squash filled ravioli and grilled asparagus. Both tasted amazing. I will definitely come here again when visiting Chicago.
Good food, good service. Casual place. I'd come back.
Good food at a pretty reasonable price. I highly recommend the gnocchi! My boyfriend got it and it was absolutely outstanding.
Bit expensive for a "cafe" (2 people for dinner $108) but the food is good, service is timely, helpful & friendly, the decor is cute. Pizza & pasta plus plenty of drink specialties but oddly no margarita. Will definitely go again.
Great meal and atmosphere, owners very attentive to your satisfaction good meal and fun
The food was amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Really nice experience and fabulous dining. I look forward to visiting during every visit to Chicago. !!!
My wife and I dined there 12-4-14. We had an excellent experience and meal. The food was great. The wait staff was very attentive. My water glass was always full as was our bread basket. We enjoyed the atmosphere as well-nicely decorated. Would love to go back again.
Good food and atmosphere. Great service and prices.
Most of our party of 10 didn't like their dishes. Small portions, charge for soda refills, didn't see smiles from any of staff.
Tables are not 6 feet apart. Food was mediocre but service was great. Really recommend they space tables apart more
The staff is very friendly and they know the food and the wine equally well. Have been here for a few business dinners and they do a nice job with larger groups. It's not inexpensive but it's definitely a location where you will get what you pay for. I haven't been here during the time of year where the outdoor dining is available but it does certainly add a nice touch albeit smack dab in the middle of downtown.
Was here for a rehearsal dinner. Service was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Really good food, good location in that party of town. More relaxed atmosphere than the river North location but just as good food. Pasta probs are not overly generous. Good quality ingredients and wine.
Great service. Great food. We have visited Coco Pazzo Cafe on Friday night and it was a great experience.
Professional staff and good staff. Reasonably priced as well
Tuna steak was delicious and the tiramisu is on my top list!
Excellent lunch options. Lasagna and gnocchi were great.
Great service, delicious food. Lingered over a leisurely dinner with wine and dessert. The service was great, we were not rushed. There is an elevator to get into the restaurant, but you'd need to call to let them know you had arrived. The elevator is in the building next door, so it isn't obvious.
Maybe it was an off night, but my experience was anything but good. The Margherita pizza was okay, basil was fresh, but sauce was watery and the crust wasn't cooked properly. The second nail in the coffin was our waiter. He said approximately 8 words to us and was very short with my entire group. The other people in the restaurant served us more than our actual waiter. Finally, they seemed to be unable to create a decent Tiramisu, which is an Italian staple. Very little flavor, almost nonexistent lady fingers, and a shockingly mousse like consistency. I do not recommend that anyone eats here, particularly when there are so many wonderful options in the city.
I go back for a pasta dish that I love. Everyone in our party loved the food. Great atmosphere and waitstaff.
Good food but we were with a large group and 2 meals arrived 10 minutes after other meals were delivered. No apologies or consideration for delayed meals. Very noisy so hard to carry on conversations.
Very good food, great location. Service can be slow if you are sitting outside, but not too bad if you are not in a rush.
Stopped in with my family for dinner and the food was good. They can make VEGAN options upon request. I ordered the spaghetti "AOP" and it was delicious. I did notice spiderwebs/dust on the lighting directly above the table.
It is okay, in my opinion too expensive for what is offered.
Great food, fuss over you service, and in this neighborhood that's a 5 Star! Old school, Sinatra music, nice Italian wines, and outside seating, even on Ohio, a plus and better than decibels inside. I'll be back many times.
Visited the restaurant twice, the place doesn't disappoint. Black squid ink pasta was not what I expected, they serve it here with tomato sauce instead of black squid ink sauce; nevertheless it was good. Have also tried the lasagna and rigatoni buttera. Highlight is actually the breads, ask the waiters to serve the olive oil with parmesan cheese, this combination is simply delicious.
Food was well prepared, sitting outside was lovely. Service was slow.
Great food, good atmosphere, really good service. Friendly staff always interested in making sure you have a good positive experience.
Excellent food and staff. Wonderful place. My mom would have loved it
who would have thought - an italian restaurant this good in a red roof inn? the food is very good and well prepared. the pasta dishes are outstanding. the waiters attentive without being overly. and the atmosphere cosy. those who come here instead of the "big brother" on michigan are not missing much except a bigger check.
Brought my son here for a late dinner while visiting Chicago.
My wife and I used to come here years ago when we lived in Chicago and the restaurant was in its prior location.
Food is just as good as I remembered. Staff polite and attentive even while it was busy. Prices very reasonable.
The only reason i give a 3 and not a 4, or 5? The location and interior. It is now easier to find which means busier and noisier. The new location is a busier street which means "Al Fresco" dining is a no-no unless you're into the gritty sidewalk vibe... Interior of the old location i recall being bright and airy. This one, while clean was darker and had these strange drapes in the middle of the room.
If you never went to the old location and are looking for good food, nice portions and reasonable prices then this is worth trying.
If however you recall the prior location on St. Clair with fondness, then you should skip this one unless it is just for the food.
This restaurant came highly recommended from a Chicago native now living in Boise Idaho. It did not disappoint. Although we didn t really know what the dishes were (not huge Italian eaters), we were fortunate enough to get Luis Z as our server. We allowed him to pick our two meals from his favorites and it was AMAZING. I have NEVER enjoyed a pasta dish like this EVER!! Thank you for our first amazing Chicago dining experience!
This restaurant was extremely fresh and amazing I love the scenery & the aesthetics. The salads are amazing and the Pizza is on the top of my list for now. Everything about this restaurant is a 5 star. The waiters are nice and always on top of it!
Ate her 5 nights in a row,. Each night better than the last.
Went for the first time for a breakfast meeting at work. Other than being hard to find the meal and service were very good. Would go back.
I had delicious butternut squash ravioli. Friendly atmosphere.
Good looking place with rustic charm in Strreterville. Lunch menu is limited but 3 items we tried, were decent. Servers were attentive. Mushroom pizza was tasty and nicely crusty
Yummy food! Not worth the price, in my opinion. When you dine here, you pay for the atmosphere more than the food. That being said, it was very high class and elegant while having relatively low prices for such an establishment.
Very nice ambiance and setting. Sat at the bar for my meal as I was eating alone. Bartender fixed me an excellent Manhattan. The carbonara waa fantastic and had just the right mix of bacon and cheese, at least for my taste. An after dinner drink and a quick chat with the bartender left me with a fantastic appreciation for this restaurant.
Food is so so, but space is good for chatting with friends.
Had not been there in a while. The menu has changed, improved, and the place is still a class act. Glad to have gone back.
Excellent! Visiting from out of town and sat at the bar. Very nice staff from the moment I walked in an excellent food and drinks. The bartender was very nice and helped recommend some stuff on the menu. I got the Spaghetti AOP and added chicken, ceaser salad and an espresso martini. All incredibly delicious. Highly recommend.
Great service and ambiance. The rigatoni is fantastic, as is the salmon. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I'm from Montreal where we have the best restaurants ever. Travelling to the US is always a bit of a downer when it comes to food. But this place had THE best food I have ever had in all my travels to the United States. I will definitely go back when I am in chicago!!
The rigatoni buttera, suppli and seasonal fruit crostata were excellent - the rigatoni was definitely the highlight of the night, though. Apparently the trout special was good but I didn t get to try it because some people like to share food and some people don t. Trout shalt not judge.
Full disclosure It is very loud in the restaurant, though, so if you re hard of hearing, this might not be the place for you.
Stopped in on a whim for a quick dinner, and was very impressed! The bread was delicious, and I had the gnocchi ricotta which was fantastic as well. Service was very friendly. Will definitely come back again next time I m in Chicago.
