A place that is certainly worth a visit for many reasons. The first is the building that houses the collection created by Renzo Piano and really very beautiful for the materials used, for the spaces and for how it fits into the surrounding landscape. The collection donated by Bayeler is of the highest level as are the temporary exhibitions that are hosted. Now there is one of Klee's absolutely extraordinary.

A splendid building which houses magnificent works! The private collection is simply brilliant which knows how to put the works in relation to one another: Mondrian, Bourgeois, Monet, Kandinsky, Miro, Eliasson, and others ... As for the temporary exhibition: I attended at Bacon & Giaccometti, it was a very nice way of seeing personalities with such distant productions come together in their subjects.
Even if the Beleyer Foundation is far from the center of Basel, it is very easy to access by the tram which is clean and punctual. You have nothing to worry about.

An influx of culture.

An influx of culture.
The park is special, even in autumn / winter time. I can say that the Beyeler Foundation is one of the most interesting galleries in Europe. This season's program is Resonating Spaces !!!

It is the 20th anniversary and admission is free for people under the age of 25. There are free lockers inside, and audio guides can be rented for 8CHF. If you don't want to pay, you can take a free English booklet to see the key exhibits. There are paid guided tours on Sunday.

Very nice exhibition of Picasso! Too bad that half of the Foundation was closed and pity that we were not warned. A reduction could have been proposed by the administration in the purchase of each entry due to lack of products to exhibit.

Magnificent architecture (I recommend the special tour), always sensational exhibitions. The walk towards the meadow is also very nice. The not exactly cheap price can be leveled out again by using the museum pass.

Beautiful building, beautiful collections and superb Hopper exhibit. But everything is so expensive! The entrance to the museum, the shop, the restaurant! It is truly art reserved for the privileged.

Imposing architecture that would inspire by itself. But it is filled with inspiring works of art by contemporary artists. It was a gift that Ernst and Hildy Beyeler's collection was made available to the public. I enjoyed my annual visit to the Fondation Beyeler yesterday in the exhibition of Paul Klee's works immensely and will definitely visit again in the near future.
Highly recommended.

One of my favorite museums.

One of my favorite museums.
Effortless only the approach, the parking. Too bad, it does not have "life" all around. The approach and parking problem is not better in Basel. Therefore, for those who seek "leisure", after the museum visit, Basel is also not a pleasing alternative. The whole with public transport is no less expensive. The constant change of means of transport is cumbersome, eats unnecessarily much time and is in the full means of transport also no joy.

The Fondation Beyeler is definitely worth a visit. The building and grounds by themselves justify the short trip from the centre of Basel. The architecture is very interesting and complements the art very nicely.

I specifically visited for 'Kandinsky, Marc & Der Blaye Reiter' exhibition which was fantastic. Carefully chosen and presented artwork, demonstrating how the movement developed and helping the viewer understand how it contributed to future generations of artists.

I had some time left and wandered through 'Roni Horn' exhibition which was equally exciting.

All in all, a great place, bringing art to a wide audience in a fantastic environment.

Always worth a visit; so far I have never been disappointed by an exhibition! Nice park and grounds. Well-stocked museum shop not only with books, but also creative art and everyday objects.

In any case, very positive.

In any case, very positive.
All exhibitions are always of the highest standard and in every respect only very positive.
For me, the quality of the creation within the creation of the artworks is crucial for each visit.
However, this is always given and therefore - compared to other art houses - particularly noteworthy.

The exhibition with the works of the young Picasso (Blue and Pink Period) until 26.05.2019 is absolutely worth seeing. The thematic design of the exhibition rooms has also been excellently pedagogical. The way there is worthwhile in any case.

A beautiful site with relevant authors. The collection is not the largest, but includes important artists of the 20th century. Around the building there is a small park with large exhibits. Unfortunately, in September 2018 most of the exposition is closed.

Very nice place to visit. Edward Hopper, beautiful exhibition, the film by Wim Wenders is worth the detour, as if we were in the paintings.
Beautiful permanent exhibition.
Small flat, we reserve for 5pm, the museum kicks us out at 6pm. A little short to go around at your own pace ...

The museum building has an impressive but simple architecture. Relatively few (250), but very high quality paintings from the 20th century are shown. There are always interesting special exhibitions. Admission is not cheap at CHF 25, but it is worthwhile for art lovers.

Fantastic, both as place and for the exhibitions. It is a relaxing and fascinating cultural center, where the beauty of the arts bring a whisper of happiness in this life. It is maybe a bit expensive, but it worth every cent.

The building and grounds are beautiful. The galleries are spacious and very well lit with vast floor to ceiling windows adding to the views of the art and country side. Visited during the Picasso Blue Rose period plus the museum's own collection of later Picassos. Overall an impressive exhibit with several works on loan from private parties and museums from around the world.

We had to take two different trams to the Fondation Beyeler, but it seems easier than getting a cab.

This place has one of the best Picasso exhibitions I ve ever seen!

It was beautifully presented and audio guides gave a great insight to each artwork.

Outside the compound is also just as beautiful. We some guests sitting on the grass and just enjoying the scenery.

A beautiful building that forms a coherent unit with the surrounding garden. The house collection is relatively small, half of the house was inaccessible at the time of the visit, which was not mentioned in advance (homepage). The current exhibition was very good. Private collections are always a bit more expensive, but the small size does not justify the high ticket price.

The website regarding discounted online tickets is misleading or at least incomplete. There is no information on benefits via tourist cards (for example Basel Card) and so only the possibility online to buy a full-price ticket. At the cash desk you get the discount but very well .... My note at the cash desk at least on the website to point out the possibility of this cheapening was rejected in a very unfriendly way. This review only concerns the organization and management of the Foundation.

About Fondation Beyeler

Fondation Beyeler: A Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Riehen/Basel

Fondation Beyeler is a world-renowned museum of modern and contemporary art located in Riehen, a suburb of Basel, Switzerland. The museum was founded by Ernst Beyeler, a Swiss art dealer and collector, in 1997. Since then, it has become one of the most important cultural institutions in Europe.

The mission of Fondation Beyeler is to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience that combines art, nature, and architecture. The museum's collection includes works by some of the most famous artists of the 20th century such as Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne and many others.

One unique aspect of Fondation Beyeler is its location. The museum is situated on the edge of a forest park that provides visitors with stunning views over the surrounding landscape. This setting creates an atmosphere that encourages contemplation and reflection on both nature and art.

The architecture of Fondation Beyeler also plays an important role in creating this unique experience for visitors. Designed by Renzo Piano - one of the world's leading architects - the building itself is a work of art that seamlessly blends into its natural surroundings.

In addition to its permanent collection which features over 300 works from various periods including Impressionism to contemporary art movements such as Pop Art or Minimalism; Fondation Beyeler also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year showcasing new artists or themes related to modern or contemporary arts.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours led by knowledgeable staff members who are passionate about sharing their love for art with others. There are also audio guides available for those who prefer self-guided tours.

For families with children there are special programs designed specifically for kids including workshops where they can create their own artworks inspired by what they see at Fondation Beyeler.
