Small intimate theatre. Saw Jungle. It was well acted 2 person play
Probably on of the best professional theatres in Toronto
Amazing play about refugees. Moving and the actors are incredibly talented.
Great show, plus the concessions stand had a really good selection of craft beer and other beverages.
I saw a one person show called Person Of Interest in one of the smaller theaters and it was spectacular. The room wasn't anything special, but it was the perfect place for the performance nonetheless.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful. For example: on the night I visited, a man dropped his presto card on our way out. One of the staff members went around the building to see if anyone had lost it, and even made an attempt to go outside and around the corner to where someone may be headed toward a bus. The staff member eventually came back in, and was about to leave a note with it behind the counter when a man came back in to see if anyone had found his card by chance.
This place has staff that go well above and beyond their duties, and is the kind of place I would happily spend my time and money. Institutions with great staff, are institutions with great values.
Excellent play tonight Yaga. All the actors were amazing, playing multiple roles.
Went to see Mustard. Great show and impressive professional set design!
Excellent presentation, friendly volunteers and delicious cookies.
Different style of production this time ppl in crowd did not get it dude in front of me was so ticked he walked out during the show.
Went and saw Hawksley Workman's 'The God That Comes' a few years ago with the wife, and was very pleasantly surprised by just how unique and cool this venue is. Highly recommended, and from what I understand they usually get some great shows here!
My wife and I took in the show Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story this evening and it was wonderful. Wow! The music was lead by a powerful performance by Ben Caplan and I highly recommend getting your tickets now before they're sold out and the show has moved on!
Excellent theatre with strong productions. Toronto is lucky to have this establishment
An excellent venue for an intimate theatre experience.
Saw an amazing play Cottagers and Indians, a very moving depiction of Canadian challenges to understand reconciliation.
Tarragon consistently delivers thought-provoking, entertaining theatre, featuring a wide array of Canadian voices.
Very good actors. Good value. The cons: no pre-assigned seating. Seats were just chairs not comfy or roomy.
Went to see "Old Stock." Absolutely a must see: well written, directed, and acted.
If you're under 35 they have a very reasonably priced tickets for both subscriptions and single performances and you can buy rush tickets online on the same day of the performance (AMAZING).
Fantastic volunteers and shows with an emphasis on new Canadian works. I've never been disappointed here.
Smaller intimite theatre in converted building. Still sat ~150+ people. This means no seats miles away from the stage. We saw the Inook play of Kivvig. Wonderful use of actors and on stage moveable screens. Chairs were of an improved stackable design which is why I held off on 5 stars. For a local theatre it was superb.
Very cozy theater and beautiful ambiance! Try and see some plays, nice hidden gem in downtown Toronto by George Brown and Casa Loma.
The Tarragon Theater is about as good as it gets when you're looking for incredible local talent, and a play you've never seen before . Their plays are written in-house by local playwrights and the spaces are always aesthetic and professionally designed. If you're looking for hip, original, and cutting edge theater, look no further.
"Message" performance was really Great! We really enjoyed the board game playing before the performance. Please come earlier, to get good seats. Last Sunday was Full house!
We saw "Copy that" and it was all around incredible. Gripping and a sight to see. Not the first time we've been to this theatre and it most definitely will not be the last. A fine contributor to the Arts in Toronto.
Great place to see theatre in any of their 3 theatre spaces. We'll run and looked after.
Excellent venue with wonderful plays . Highly recommended!
Great performance and great environment to spend the night out with your partner.
Absolutely love this theatre. Have been into the mainstage and other stage. Friendly staff amd good performances. Favourite is Marine Life, I would come back to see Marine Life again! Fantastic play with only 3 actors! The theatre itself is on the edge of a neighbourhood and very close to the college. Cute surrounding neighbourhood eith Casa Loma nearby.
My wife and I have had season's tickets for two years now. We've yet to be disappointed by the Tarragon.
A bit of an access challenge - but with the effort. (rails on stairs)
Saw Ben Kaplan im the immigrant Story. Phenomenal performance. Great venue top.
Saw "Harlem Duets" this time. What a fantastic production. I don't know if all of Tarragon's plays are this high quality but I was blown away!
A lovely little theatre with unique (in a good way) shows, in a lovely little area... what's not to like?
Nice small space. The audience is staged super steep, so it's easy to see the stage. The waiting area is small but still feels "open". There was food after the play which was nice. I believe they also do drinks on some nights.
Excellent small theatre and we saw Midsummer which was excellent. Funny and well acted. Will be checking out future plays as definitely going again.
Saw two plays at Tarragon. Avant-garde theatre. Thought provoking. Amazing acting
Never have I ever been dissatisfied with a performance done at the Tarragon. The theatre itself is cozy and inviting while the productions are always a good time by yourself or with friends n
I love this place. I think I've enjoyed every performance I've seen there. Nice selection of snacks to choose from and it's licensed. Staff are very friendly
Intimate theatre and great performance tonight. They even let us bring wine to our seats. The talkback session batter the show made the night perfect.
Sweet little theater, checked our Nightfeed as part of fringe. Is was amazing! What a show.
I absolutely loved my experience there! I saw Girls Like That with my English class and it was AMAZING! I can t wait to go back in October for Harlem Duet!
Worth the drive up from the States. Amazing performance and wonderful staff.
Great Canadian contempory playwrights. One of the classic Canadian theatres in town
Great little theatre. Interesting and unique plays. Highly recommended.
Watched a Danial Maciver show and balled my eyes out, it was quite wonderful!
This is a great little live theatre space. It's really intimate! The front row seats put you right in the action! It's easy to get to by public transit but there is also a big parking lot just across the street.
Great atmosphere. Intimate settings with Good sight lines. Good professional theatre with exciting new work and refreshing ideas and work on established plays.
Love this theater! Well organized, intimate and relaxed. Some great refreshing plays that will challenge mind sets.
Pretty cool venue. The play I saw there was quite good. Totally worth the price of admission.
Yook my almost 4 uyr old daughter to see Old Man and The River. Great production
A bit pricey for new Canadian works but an essential Theater in Toronto
Show was good but the actual venue needed better maintenance
We love this theater for it's great selection of shows!
Some of the most thought provoking theatre in Toronto.
Great local theatre with a long history of producing original Canadian plays.
Great place to watch a play. They always have interesting shows to catch. Seating anywhere offers you great views.
Quaint theatre, awesome actors, and incredibly nice staff. Easy to get to with the subway if you get off at DuPont. Worth your while!
It's great that artists have a place to share their craft. The Fringe Festival at Tarragon Theatre is such a place. Be advised however, the theatre has a late zero-tolerance policy so be on time or you won't get in. They sold me a can of pop but then advised me that the only item allowed in the theater was bottled water. Good to know.
We totally enjoyed Hamlet. It was awesome . Our first time to Tarragon, we will be back. Congratulations to the cast and crew. Great job
The Tarragon Theatre is one of my favourite small theatres in Toronto. I saw an outstanding performance of Daniel MacIvor's "New Magic Valley Fun Town" last night, in the Mainspace. The theatre was large enough to accommodate many patrons, but still intimate enough for the audience to really connect with the actors.
The seats were comfortable, the space was well-equipped, the staff was extremely pleasant, and the facility itself looked clean and well-maintained.
From start to finish, our experience at the Tarragon Theatre was wonderful in every respect.
Always great plays at the Tarragon. Great theater space.
I just had the absolute pleasure of attending, The Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. Amazing! So well written and acted. Everything was spot on! I would love to see this again.
The theatre was great. A small cozy atmosphere.
The Message was Incredible!
Contrary to STEPHEN LUBIN, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I could not not pay close intense attention.
Was a very memorable stage performance, from the hosts to the actors it was superb.
Not keen on giving out my email and personal information just to buy a ticket for a show. The staff was kind and courteous but buying tickets is a pain.
These pros know what they are doing. Saw 'Musard'! Loved it!
