Fond du Lac Public Library Review

I know their only following politics, but honestly if I had covid, I'd be dead or having noticeable breathing problems.

Businesses are only trying to get less business, let's give that to them! They don't want our money. Hey business, tell TOYS R US I say hi!

The Fond du Lac public library is great but most of all l the children's department is the best I have ever seen. They do so much for the kids.

I love to write. With that said, I have an infinite love for books. Sometimes my research calls for eccentric works and let's face it, while my love for books is vast, the Benjamins in my bank account is not. Sorry Amazon.
I have had 100% amazing service and even above and beyond assistance in helping me find exactly what I need from this extremely, kind and knowledgeable staff.
I highly recommend not only using the Fond du Lac Library, but supporting their efforts as well. Their love for the growth of children of our community is so amazing to see. To the Staff, Thank you!

Very helpful, friendly staff, large selection of books, books on CD, DVDS. When my son wanted to read the next book in a series, they ordered it right away and he got to be the first one to read it. I enjoy the summer reading program and it gets my children reading.

Now that it's gotten new carpet and and some re arrangements, it's a better experience. Staff is helpful and friendly. Computers are a bit slow and it's a weird layout of materials. But overall a pretty good library

I love the variety in books, and the latest movies and music.

i went to get a label printed and went for help up stairs,i ask for assistance from one lady,she couldnt get it done so she ask the other lady about 3 ft. away sitting the whole time listening to our problem so she instructed me to get on public computer to get label,she spent more to trying to get out of helping me? i said i didnt have a number or my reading glasses,no help !telling me to get on a public computer in a pandemic,thanks things are bad enough now and no one want to even do thier jobs or get off their posterior aspects!EJH

Staff ignored my email ........no response PERIOD. Not very nice treatment of someone looking for help from a librarian.

Knowledgeable and helpful volunteer staff. Always an interesting reading activity going on. Great for kids and adults of all ages and interests. Many book clubs to join.

My grandchildren and I attended the Fairy Land program. It was so well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The amount of time and effort put into it was apparent. Crowns(hats) off to the library staff.

This library, compared to every other public library I've visited, is one of the best. It's always clean, the staff is friendly, and there's a wide variety of items for borrowing. Its a very large library that can meet the needs for whatever you need. Love this library.

For a small-town library, the Fond du Lac Public Library offers a truly astonishing array of services. I live in a town more than six times the size of Fond du Lac now, and the selection of titles available in our local public library pales in comparison to FDLPL's array of titles; I never realized how spoiled I was to have such variety available to me in such a small town! We were even able to find rare 1980s knitting books that would have been quite expensive to purchase here. And even if the titles aren't available for you in the library, you can usually find them in the library consortium or get the library to order them for you, which is pretty generous Also, many great resources for local historians, and since the remodel a decade or so ago the library has been housed in a beautiful downtown building.

I always enjoy reading,I just trying to fax papers ,they just didn't go thru,so the library suggested I do copy in then email to the rightful owner,she was a big help she also call up stairs to inform them I need they assistant,so big prop to the library at the Fond Du Lac library, Wisconsin

So far hands down the best public library I've borrowed from and participate. They are definitely keeping up with the times to continue having people come and use. Having grown up in the twin cities, went to school in Iowa, and lived in Fond Du Lac and sadly recently moved away to Madison I've visited my fair share and have loved all of the amenities that FDLPL provides.

For being a smaller town their selection is pretty good with the ability to get some material from other locations. I wish I discovered earlier but go and check out the idea studio, this is what I miss the most. This space is for kids and adults alike. There is so much provided down there to use to help with anything you might want to create from 3D printers to laser cutters to sewing machines to music studio to simple paper crafts.

I have also enjoyed the equipment checkouts from trying out electric circuits to testing energy usage of devices in my house to a projector and screen to show presentations and videos wherever I needed to.

They frequently have events and visitors to always have something to do. I wish I could of brought the Fond Du Lac library with to Madison. Libraries should look to Fond Du Lac as a good example of things to do and provide.

I used to go here when I was little and it was pretty decent. But as I got older, it really declined. As of a year ago, I would approximate that half of the books upstairs were aging and likely outdated. When I would go there to do reports, papers, et cetera, most of the librarians were very unhelpful-recommending material that was obviously unhelpful and sometimes even inappropriate. I much prefer the Oshkosh and the North Fond du Lac libraries.
