Chloe Manes Review of FLVS

I am a student currently doing FLVS for my 2nd year for high school. I have also done it for a year in middle school. It can be flexible and I understand the teachers have to contact you to keep you on track... Most of the teachers I've had are nice and seem to care about the students and I have total respect for them!... but there seems to be a vast amount of students assigned to each class (Covid-19 has not helped.) My point is its difficult to get in contact with your teachers and I'm guessing they are low on staff. To add on, the what I've noticed is that the material in the courses and lessons seem outdated and barely interactive. I think this could be improved and the lessons could be updated to be more interesting for students wanting to learn or who have Attention Disorders (like myself). We all know, reading pages after pages can become boresome. This begs me to ask the question if those in higher positions in charge of the student's learning strategies or the way this Virtual school is run even has the kids in their best interest? Furthermore, Zoom is a confusing outlet for having Live Lessons, in my opinion. Some Live Lessons are pointless and leave you to do the majority of the assignment by yourself after it or at other times the host will briefly go through the Lesson and then rush through completing the assignment. I have also been kicked out of a Live Lesson before, for no reason. I have seen the negative reviews and most seem to be fellow students. I think they have valid concerns that need to be called to attention by enacting change with how this school is run.
