Saw Brand New's "final concert" was such a great concert. Oh yeah Modest Mouse was there, too. The venue was good, we sat on the lawn, was comfortable. They have low chairs you can rent, we went the blanket route. The grass is so well taken care of, and so soft. The sound system is great.

This is Cracker country located in the Florida State Fair grounds. They are open even after the fair has left town, they host several events, check their website. It's like stepping back in time.

The state fair was really fun. Kinda expensive for a family if the kids want to ride all the rides the bands were 30 each so close to 100 with 3 kids. Seemed safe. The food wasn't ridiculously overpriced, you could get tea for a dollar. Worth the time and drive.

Its OK...to charge $13 just 2 get in is absolutely ridiculous...
A family of 4 or 5 has 2 spend almost $100 just 2 walk into the place...UNACCEPTABLE...
Food is way overpriced....had a sausage sandwich and it was $9
Call me crazy but thats crazy!
Not worth the money!

Everything was great with the venue except for one thing! In the seats above Orchestra, Row one is metal chairs and wheelchair handicap seating and they don't tell you that online but everything else was perfect!

Always a good time at the Florida State Fair!! Plenty of vendors, rides and games. And of course, every food you can think of. Love the fact you are allowed to conceal carry here as long as you let the Sherrif run your CCWP.

My husband and I always go to the gun shows. Never have parking problems beings we need a handicap spot. They moved the gun show into the bigger building and it has more room to move around. Bathrooms are always clean. Never had any problems with the fair grounds for any event.

Great venue for a state fair. Ample parking. Lots to do and see. Very clean and well organized. I wish there were more original food choices, but it was still fun. My 38" tall daughter could ride enough of the rides alone that we got by with just one ride wristband for her. The craft fair had some unique offerings. Stop by the fair for a few hours, if you have any interest. Only $13 to get in!

Fun packed event with everything for everyone. From Turkey leg to Demolition Derby, from Ferris wheel to Alligator show, from fresh Doughnuts to delicious Gyros. If you want to go buy something from the expo or just want to have some gator kabobs or just want enjoy all the rides all day it's your jam. No matter who you go with family, friends or a date, you will come out with a smile on face and delicious food in your belly. Classic Fair with so much more.

We have attempted to go to four events at the Tampa Fairgrounds since moving to Tampa 2 years ago. Every event was a challenge to get to due to multiple options for entrances but only one OPEN entrance. Each of the events ended up being a disappointment.

Yesterday we attempted to go to the balloon glow event. The fairground only had one entrance open...again... we were at the turn for the MLK entrance when we realized that people were pulling in and making u-turns because the gate was closed. 3 lanes of traffic were backed up on MLK as people tried to figure out where they needed to go. The sign for the fairgrounds flashed an image with the balloons stating that the entrance was on 301. US 301 was backed up to the point that it was shut down.

We gave up however we followed the facebook event page where many people said that they were let into the event after an hour and a half wait in traffic, directed to a parking lot that was a half hour walk away from the event, and when they finally made it to the event area all balloons had been taken down due to weather. They took people's money for the event even though the event was being shut down. No refunds were issued. Communication REALLY needs to improve and adjustments need to be made by opening other entrances when entire roads are being shut down due to traffic.

Be sure to check out Cracker Country with docents in period dress.
Huge fairgrounds. Maps are a must for getting around on your first visit to this state fair.
Too much space devoted to carnival rides and "junk food - fair food" for me.
