I got my order. Most of it was as ordered but--they switched out the gemstone beads I ordered for two plastic, totally unusable beads. This is not acceptable. I spent $6 for 2 small gemstone beads I didn't get.
Update: 8/10/21 I upgraded my review by one point. I contacted customer support and they did ship out the beads....also wrong. I got two jasper beads, they were unevenly sized and did not match at all. Larger than the ones I ordered, one grey and one proper red jasper. Now I have to rethink my project to accommodate these two chunky beads, or give up on it entirely.

i really do love fire mountain gems. I have ordered from them like 12 times now. I have an Etsy shop where I sell my handmade jewelry, and there are literally always great discounts to take advantage of and they've really upped their customer service game in the last few months. they also have such a gorgeous selection of jewelry supplies from more affordable things to more high end things. love it highly recommend purchasing from here!
Their prices can't be beat but they have to be the absolute worst for slow shipping. They take forever to get orders out. Stopped ordering from them because of it but needed some stringing material, findings, metal beads etc... so gave them another chance. I ordered from Fire Mountain, Lima beads, Dakota Stones, Rishashay and Monster Slayer all on the same day, paying for priority shipping at each vendor. Received all the others within a week while as of today 7 days later Fire mountain has not even shipped my order yet. Never again...i'm done with them.
I came across Fire Mountain while searching for Swarovski hotfix rhinestones. I was immediately drawn into some outstanding deals on discontinued Swarovski merchandise. I did some research and was a little unsure about purchasing due to a seemingly even balance of positive and negative reviews. However, with the discount prices on some items I was interested in being too good to pass up, I decided to do a small, yet inexpensive bulk order. I received a confirmation email quickly, and shipping information a few days later. (I had anticipated this since I put my order in on a Friday and the website clearly stated they were not filling orders on the weekends.) My order arrived in just under two weeks and I was pleased to see the order fulfilled correctly, included a free gift, a coupon for another purchase, as well as having no issues with billing or quality of the products. I have since made a second small order, which arrived in 7 days and again, no issues the entire process.
My only complaints are the high shipping costs, especially for smaller orders and how the 30 piece burr set ordered in the second order was not secure in the case in which it came, so all the burrs were in a disarray and most had come out of the case. Luckily, they package things in closed bags within the padded shipping envelope, so nothing was damaged or missing.
The website can seem daunting at first with the large selection and wide array of quantities available for some things, but you can use the extensive filters to narrow down your search. The website also has great resource articles. Anything from how to clean different materials properly, to instructional guidance on project ideas, to reference and comparison charts. A nice feature is being able to save items for later in your shopping cart for expedited access to products you're considering buying.
Bottom line, I will use them again in the near future for particular items.
Fire mountain is so easy to order from! Im set to receive my second order today ! The only thing i wish they did was give an idea of what the mystery package beads are. I have ordered bulk packs of gemstones beads and wish i knew for sure what they are! So excited for my next order!
Buyer beware. The return policy is really poor. I bought 50 sterling S clasps and did not see from the photos on the website that the design is seriously flawed. I called customer service and they said they had to pull a sample from stock and validate my claim. I got a call a couple days laer and they disagree with my findings. They said I should just bend the S clasp to free the jump ring, then bend it back so the clasp could close. Really? Each time the wearer has to do this is going to ruin the clasp.
They have a large selection, and pricing is good, but they take forever to fulfill orders, almost an entire week. Then, shipping takes absolutely forever. It'll be almost 3 weeks before I see my order, now I wonder if it'll even be delivered at all. I'd rather pay a bit more and have my order sooner, or buy from another store entirely that ships faster.
Customer service has really gone downhill. I have been a devoted customer of this company for many years. When inquiring about an order that is over 10 business days late in shipping out they completely ignored my email. When reaching out via their live chat, they still could not answer my question and just made excuse after excuse about Covid-19 and how overwhelmed they are. I was not even given an option to cancel my order as it has been sitting in the warehouse all this time. I will be taking my business somewhere else as Fire Mountain Gems has become unreliable.
I no longer will buy from this company, it's takes almost a week to fill your order and they run out of the items before they even start on mine. I want to cancel my order and they told me that they can't cancel it. That's ok I will have it cancelled and get my money back.
I highly recommend this company. I live in San Antonio, TX and a customer at Michael s turned me on to their website a couple of weeks ago, and I m already on my third order. This company is amazing. You can tell they really care about their customers! They put a hand written thank you note in your order, and they add a little a little measuring chart for your beads and your jump rings and things. They have great prices and so many different choices for different jewelry making projects.
