good atmosphere, much better service than in the trendy Temple Bar.
We ordered a vegetarian dish whose portion was generously served accompanied by Guinness.
Good place!

Good place!
Easily one of the most expensive bars I have ever been in. International or otherwise.
A nugget this restaurant !! All super fresh! Super well cooked !! Lovely staff great atmosphere ... I highly recommend !!
Very good service, live music and chicken wings were awesome!
Went for late lunch. Food was excellent! Reasonably priced. Live music and friendly staff. Try the chicken and leek pie with a Smithwicks Blonde
Pub wise best historic pub in the temple bar area. My only problem is a 7 pint of Guinness is stupid ridiculous.
Nice place in the heart of Dublin. We stop there for lunch. It take a while until I realised that nobody come to our table, and food need to be ordered at the bar. Also take a while until bartender start pay attention, other customers also need wait (as can be seen on photo), even bar was far from busy hours. A bit lack of professionalism, I guess. Food was not bad, but I guess a bit small quantity for such price.
Totally overpriced. Most expensive drink in Dublin. Bottle of beer and a pint of Heineken for 15. Not surprised why it was quiet on a Saturday afternoon in comparison to the better more reasonably priced other bars around Temple Bar.
It's a Pub in Dublin's most touristy location, so expect long queues, lots of noise, high bills, no variety and average food.
Great food, service very attentive. Nevertheless, my wife was first presented the wrong food. Made aware shortly afterwards. No problem.
Didn't appeal to me the price off the drinks are rediculus for a pint off Gunness and a gin and tonic 17 I nearly fell off my chair won't be going their again
This review is for the room accommodation, not the restaurant. The location is amazing - you can't ask for a better place in the city center. But if you're a tourist who has to go on early tours, it's definitely not the place for you. It gets very loud late at night, and stays loud until about 4am. The beds are not the most comfortable, and you have to carry all your luggage to the third floor by stairs. If you want a good night's sleep, spend some extra money on a comfortable accommodation a little further away from the party scene.
Good food, scrummy beers by a nice warm fire, what's not to like
The Norseman! Wonderful cozy pub with live music! Good contrast to the crowded Temple Bar.
Very authentic pub at Temple Bar. Nice selection of beers and ciders on tap, classic bar food and burgers on menu, cozy tables and lots of seating at the bar.
They had (great!) live music playing even at 1pm on a Friday, so the atmosphere is spot on. Drinks are a bit pricey, but that s kinda to be expected in that area.
Great pub. Good food. Friendly service. Great live music.
Food is bang average and expensive but thats temple bar for ye tourist trap
Shame that the staff are so rude. Girl behind the bar said that my Irish accent was a bad one. I told her I wasn t trying to speak Irish- that WAS my natural accent. How rude! Then she had the nerve to try to charge me more for my meal. Came back in to bring friends in. Won t be doing that again! Shame on the staff to insult the customers. Well just go elsewhere!
Excellent pub for beer tasting, excellent draft! Great food too.
Good for an 'early' Sunday drink
Great central location in the temple bar area. not so crowded like in other bars. great musicians there. you can have coffee, tea with a biscuit as well as wide variety of beers and whiskeys. great counter staff.
Really good Guiness and beef pie, sort of expensive though. Nice live music and lovely staff!
In aspect of being a proper bar, there is nothing wrong with this bar. On the other side there was nothing to distinctive. The atmosphere wasn't to welcoming and the staff seemed to be very distant.
If some is searching for a good bar to drink in the evening and even enjoy some live music it is definitely worth a visit.
Had a great night here listening to some amazing live music.
Good place to eat, to have dinner and enjoy music too.
Great atmosphere, you have to spend an evening, a singer and everyone even sings you, you take the game
Good food, nice place. Plus for the meretarian menu (I recommend vegetable curry). Good Hop House 13
Good place to get a drink on Temple bar street, the live music was nice
Pub located in the heart of Temple Bar. I had a great meal there and enjoyed a great Guinness. Too bad the live music was only on the ground floor while the tables to eat were on the first floor.
A bit pricey, but has a great location, and good live music. The food was very good as well.
The Burger are soooooo good!! And the music is nice!
Expensive but with good food it is a super environment. Right next to the temple bar .but without the fuss of this one ... and with singers
The largest pub in Temple Bar District. It's huge and crowded.
We stopped for a quick drink. The friendly staff recommended some excellent draughts beers and whiskey.
We have eaten here tonight. My wife had a chicken salad and I had a burger. The lady who brought us in was very friendly! The burger was delicious. Unfortunately, the salad salad was no longer fresh, so it turned brown. We also asked for water without flash, she did not like that and charged 6.50 for 1 bottle of water. I do not recommend the restaurant. I certainly don't come here anymore either.
Friendly staff, cold pints, large and clean establishment. What more could you want?
Lovely pub with live music. Well visited but not crowded. Not only for tourists, also visited by locals.
Delicious. Sat up right by the window. Unfortunately it was very busy there. However, the live music was very good.
We stopped by for drinks and weren't disappointed! Service was good, especially for how busy it was. We did sit at the bar, but the bartender did an excellent job keeping up with everyone and keeping everyone entertained.
Nice bar with singer tristounet and expensive glass
Thouroughly enjoyed our visit, good food, good music and a pint was less than the better known establishment next door.
Decent bar but a bit on the pricey side for what your getting. Its not a top end bar but its charging theymir prices
our waitress seated us but we had to wait a while to get menus.
she couldn t tell me about the beers available, i had to go to the bar and ask the super nice bartender. our waitress didn t even serve us the beer, it was another waitress.
unfortunately she also had trouble speaking english and had a hard time answering questions, even from the customers next to us.
finally, our blue cheese tarts had more egg than cheese or leeks and were obviously frozen and reheated as the crust was soggy and soft. the ambiance was nice though.
overall a huge let down.
Service was good but someone kept screaming and couldn't hear the music.
Great music, plenty of different drinks, great atmosphere
Live music and pleasant atmosphere. We will repeat site
The food was mediocre and the portions too small, especially for the price. The chicken wings were bland, not crispy at all and the sauce bought in a shop. The chicken skewers were tasteless and there were only 2 of them. Live music was late and not very good. The only OK thing was beer, but that is rather low bar. All in all never going back, there are way better places around the area.
Oh my Guinness, I saw a waitress pour 8 beers at once while simultaneously pouring a fine irish whiskey. 5 out of 5 would drink again.
Manager was very rude, racist and used foul language when talking to us. Also probably the most expensive pub in Dublin. Would recommend any bar over this one.
A bit more quiet variation of the Temple Bar experience. Excellent burgers!
Nice, spacious hotel room with a clean, neat bathroom. The location is great, right in the center. It's nice that the hotel entrance is separate from the pub. The pub itself is cozy, with friendly staff, plenty of choice of drinks and delicious food. A must for Temple Bar District!
Lovely pub with great atmosphere ...service is very good ....
Traditional pub with live music and vast range of beers and whiskeys
Really loved the local vibe. Hung out for hours taking to really cool people.
Night was awesome, great pub, great life music, nice people.... Had good Craig. Expensive tho as everything in Dublin
Overpriced tourist trap, but good musicians and friendly staff. Went here to meet some tourists colleagues during day, but was put off by the across the board overcharging for all drinks, aimed clearly at US tourists, who will have a maximum of 2. Even cheaper variety of pints were all hit by the 7.50+ premium, even though they are a euro cheaper next door, and there are happy hour prices of half that literally 3 minutes away. The bar itself is rustic and clean, and the musicians are excellent, but the response that they charge high prices because "all bars on the strip (sic) can charge that" was galling, and a horrible indictment that this place - having existed for hundreds of years - is now there solely to fleece tourists as much as the 4 for a bag of "traditional Dublin kebab shop" chips up the road.
Great little pub with a relaxed atmosphere and live music. We could get a seat for dinner on both a Saturday and a Sunday night. The beef and Guinness pie was absolutely delicious. The service was also outstanding. The waiters really went above and beyond to help
Nice friendly place. Stopped for a drink on the way to a concert. Great no nonsense service. Would recommend
Very nice bar, a very good live guitarist (it's not Irish music of course), around 20 different beers, price ok.
Adored, super nice waiters and very nice musical discovery sean at the top
Fun place to drink and eat. Outstanding people watching.
Great bar. Live music was at a good level to hear but not too loud to have a conversation while enjoying a beer.
