I really enjoyed the exibition in Faberge museum. Before the visit, I did not know much about the Eggs but after visiting the musem, the Eggs became one of my favorite jewels.

A gem of a museum (no pun intended) in St. Petersburg and a "must visit" for anyone who appreciates fine craftsmanship. The level of detail is absolutely mesmerising and it is refreshing to witness that so many pieces have survived conflicts, wars and natural disasters over the centuries. Not only are the exhibited pieces worth admiration, but so is the interior design of each exhibition room.

But not as big as the idea. It takes about an hour to walk.

In a beautifully restored small palace you will find a nice collection of 19th century Russian goldsmith art. Not only the well known eggs but fine examples of the art of all the big jewelers of imperial Russia.
Guidebooks are available in several languages including English. If you like shiny things this is a must-see!

This is a curious place to visit. A great restored palace, precious exhibits and temporary exhibitions. Unfortunately, the palace not fully opened due to WWII damage of the building. Open late untill 9pm

The museum first visited when there was an exhibition of works by S. Dali. I liked both the exhibition and the museum. Well-renovated antique interiors combined with modern technology give an amazing effect! It is very important that audio guides are offered! For add. PAY but worth it. The announcer speaks in an accessible way, just for people like me - who are interested, but not brilliant with erudition))). The second time they came here with a girlfriend. It was an exhibition of Madigliani, Soutine and other legends of Montparnasse. Also visited the cafe. There was little time, so we drank only coffee. Latte was chilly. This is a minus. And the interior is very beautiful and cozy !!

Breath taking museum. Fantastic Easter Eggs. All beautiful things in a beautiful building. If you want feel this beauty, you need 1 hour visiting it. Not very huge place. Possible to make photos with out flash.

Accidentally forgot a purse there, all returned safe and sound. For which all the staff and museum guards thank you so much. The exposition is chic, Aivazovsky is delicious. Organization of information support for visitors below the skirting board. At the ticket office, we could notify you that it is recommended to take an audio guide, no exhibit has a description, but only numbers. Experienced it turned out that there are booklets in the museum, guidebooks, which, incidentally, also were not informed when buying a ticket. And to find these guides is not so easy. The tall white boxes in which they lie are appropriately signed, but for some reason rotated with an inscription to the wall, and not to the visitors. I will also note that you will not find a gemological description in the guidebook. And it would be very useful and interesting to know which inserts were used to create the Faberge masterpieces. A separate "attention" is required by the museum's souvenir shop. Price tag is unrealistically high. Personally, I would not buy a copy of an egg for 13 thousand rubles., And, for example, a tea pair produced by the Imperial Porcelain Factory. And the money would still remain, and the pleasure of using it would get.

Too bad, 1 piece on faberge eggs, the rest is filling ...

Beautifully designed museum. Many samples, including eggs, snuffboxes, icons, etc. Well located, near Metro station, a lot of public transport. There is no parking for people with disabilities. But the museum has an elevator and helps to move around.
