I'm sitting here writing this review at 10;30 PM without contacts or glasses. My Lasik eye surgery was just a little over 24 hours ago and I am furious at myself for waiting so long to do this. Why did I put up with contacts, glasses, and solutions for over 30 years when I could have come to Eyes of Texas Laser Center and eliminated 30 years of hassles? Dr. Wong and his staff are friendly, professional, and highly competent. You too will ask yourself why you waited to do this. Dr. Wong is a gifted physician & surgeon and his staff are just as talented and committed to an excellent patient experience. Every appointment started exactly on time and every step in this process was thoroughly and patiently explained to me. My spouse had his Lasik surgery performed here and he convinced me I should do the same. At first I was reluctant, but after seeing how positively the procedure impacted my husband, I decided to follow suit. There is a lot of competition by providers who can perform the same procedure, but if you are looking for a surgeon and staff who truly care about your well being, the choice is easy. Although the surgeon's skill and experience are critical in making this decision, you also need to consider the competency and dedication of the support team and this practice delivers excellence in all areas. Dr. Shawn Wong is known as the best laser eye surgeon in Austin, and my care was no exception. My only regret is that I should have gotten lasik eye surgery a decade ago when my eyes stopped changing! My lasik surgery was quick and easy (for me at least!) and Dr. Wong walked me through every part of it in detail, before, during, and after the surgery. Recovery was exactly as I was told, and I was seeing perfectly with no fog two days later! It's truly amazing. Thank you so much, Dr. Wong, I'm recommending lasik to everyone now!

Dr.Wong is AMAZING! I went to my free consultation today with the hopes of being a candidate for LASIK surgery, but unfortunately, found out that I wasn t a great candidate. I was highly impressed with Dr.Wong s honesty and how knowledgeable and informative he was. So many surgeons would have lied and done the surgery anyways to make some money, but he was honest from the very beginning and explained to me why it wouldn t be in my best interest. He explained an eye condition I have that I ve gone all 24 years of my life without even knowing about. No eye doctor that I ve been to has ever explained it to me in so much detail. Although I was disappointed that I wouldn t be getting the surgery, I left feeling extremely happy and at ease now that I finally understand why my eyes are the way they are and what the best correction options would be. He didn t have to spend as much time talking to me as he did, especially given the fact that I was not going to be getting the surgery (spending money) and the consultation itself was free, but he didn t treat me any differently and he spent a substantial amount of time answering every single one of my questions in detail. It also helps that he s very witty and funny! The staff is also extremely nice and welcoming. Very clean facility. Very honest company and, if I was able to do the surgery, I would 10/10 do it here.

Excellent service i got from here. Had laser surgery 3 days ago..and cant believe i can see perfectly without my specs or contact lens. Just 3 days passed i am already healed completely. I cant thank enough Dr. Shawn Wong whole of my life... i have to mention i had very high power of -9 and -8 for my eyes. But these people made it possible for me to get rid of specs after almost 2 decades.. though i have average thin cornea.

This review comes 13 months after my lasik eye surgery: Amazing. Dr. Wong gave me 20/10 vision (better than 20/20). I am not only grateful for the gift he gave me, the soft hands and touch of a master; but more than pleased with the final result. I have not had any issues whatsoever since the surgery, only Joy! Thank you very much. I will recommend to friends and family!

This place has great staff and Dr. Wong is the best eye doctor I have ever met. The guy knows what s he doing, has done a multitude of LASIK eye surgeries and is super friendly. He guided me through the process, got me quick appointments and within a week I was through with the process. Definitely recommended.

I am absolutely thrilled with my LASIK completed by Dr. Wong. I can tell you it took me 3 months to complete my research on the process and who I wanted to complete the procedure. After multiple searches I kept coming back to Dr. Wong. When meeting Dr. Wong at my Pre-Op I was put at ease. He has a way of making you feel comfortable during the entire process! I went in the following week for the actual procedure, walked in at 11:00 exactly and walked out at 12:29. The very next day I could see in "HD", as funny as that sounds. Colors just looked so vibrant and clear. I highly recommend Dr. Wong! You won't regret it!
P.S. His staff is AWESOME and super nice! Was very accommodating to my wife and daughter during my appointments.

i had Lasik eye surgery little over a month ago and extremely happy with the outcome. Prior to surgery, i wore contacts/glasses for over 15 years and was blind without them. Dr. Wong and Staff are wonderful and couldn't of asked for a better experience !

I did LASIK vision correction 3 years ago, the vision of both eyes are 20/20 in this recent annual vision check. Dr. Wong is very professional, he and the staff are friendly, special thanks to one staff gave me translation during the surgeon, my English isn't very good at that time.

Experience - My personal experience with Dr. Wong was exceptional. Dr. Wong is highly professional and puts you to ease immediately by sharing the entire process of the surgery with you. Moreover, the surgery itself was executed exactly as described. The expected results have been achieved.
Staff - The staff was very friendly and professional. Part of the protocol of the Pre-Op is to have a staff member walk you through the facility and describe the work flow during operation day. The staff also too COVID precautions seriously, utilizing face masks, hand sanitizer, and a laser thermometer to measure temperatures of clients.
Services - Dr. Wong's bio will speak to the level of service provided by Eyes of Texas Laser Center. My wait time for pre op, op, and post op were all less than 10 minutes. I would recommend Dr. Wong to any of my friends, family, or acquaintances. The center also offered a generous discount for my military active duty status.
Transparency - Extremely transparent in both the potential outcomes of the surgery as well as overall cost of the surgery.

The only minor critique I would offer is a more clearly defined eye drop schedule. The schedule does not have the best font and the bottles could be better matched to the labels on the schedule. This is the only critique I can provide.

Dr wong is incredibly knowledgable and his staff is remarkably professional and caring. His staff even goes out of their way to accomodate your needs. I have no doubt dr wong is gifted at what he does and his reviews show for it. He even came highly recommended to me by my own sister. so why the 1 star review? Let me start from the beginning.
I feel every individual is different and it is the doctor s responsibility to recommend or advise accordingly. In my case i feel dr wong did not listen to me entirely and instead relied on his own opinions to advise me. From the very beginning i told dr wong i had very dry eyes especially in the mornings upon awaking and during the late evenings. I was skeptical that i was a good candidate because of this but dr wong reassured me that my eyes were not considered dry. He even went as far to tell me my eyes were a 2 out 10 in dryness and told me i would have no issues. He did not listen to me. He guaranteed me 4k vision. Immediately after surgery i did not feel comfortable and i felt something was quite not right but i chalked this up to normal post surgery discomfort. They gave me strict instructions, which i followed religiously. Something happened and dr wong had to correct the lens. Immediately he began to question whether i wore my goggles, poked my eyes while using the drops, or knocked my goggles while sleeping. I was extremely careful because after all they are MY EYES. I care about my eyes and when my doctor tells me to so something to care for my eyes im going to follow his instructions...believe me. The eye that he corrected is amazingly clear but the other eye i did not have an issue with was never clear and even appears to have gotten worse. I knew of the risks involved going into this and accepted it however i still suffer from chronically dry eyes, worse than ever. Granted i did go back to him several times for my dry eyes and each time he prescribed to me different eye drops each having the exact same results. The final option was restasis which you cannot stop using once you start. I declined this step and decided to use systane ultra high performance, which they recommend after surgery. To this day my eyes are dry, very dry and i regret EVER having surgery on them.

I cannot recommend Eyes of Texas Laser Center enough. The entire staff was friendly, informative, and invested in me throughout the whole process (calling to remind me of appointments, explaining what would happen before and after surgery, etc). Dr. Wong was especially thorough in his explanation of the procedure and made very sure that everything was clear to me and that I didn't have any questions unanswered. He took his time with me during each appointment, I never felt rushed (I mention this because I had gotten a free consultation elsewhere and the doctor barely spent 5 minutes with me). The lasik procedure itself was a breeze, Dr. Wong talked me through it the entire time. No pain, no anxiety. He even called me the evening after the procedure to check on me. The follow-up appointment the day after surgery reassured me even further. The office itself isn't the most modern-looking, but it's very clean and really, it was the staff that won me over. I was also pleased with the variety of payment options that they offered. All in all, great experience, no regrets.

Dr. Wong is an amazing surgeon and I could not be more pleased with the results of my lens replacement surgery. After wearing contacts and glasses most of my life and not being a candidate for LASIK due to extreme myopia, I now see better than 20/20 without contacts or glasses. Dr. Wong is not only a truly gifted surgeon, but also a consummate professional who invests himself in the outcome. His caring and educational approach made me feel comfortable and knowledgeable every step of the way. Likewise, his staff is the best you'll find - professional, caring, friendly, and helpful. They consistently went above and beyond to answer all my questions and ensure a smooth process. I highly recommend Dr. Wong to anyone considering vision correction surgery. Dr Wong did my lasix surgery 11 years ago. I have had great vision since then. I went from trifocal glasses to occasional reading glasses for tiny print. I was very happy to be able to get rid of those coke bottle lens glasses. I had severe astigmatism as well. All corrected now! I have not needed any revisions.

It's been about half a year since the surgery and things are fantastic. I had lived with a -10.0 contact prescription for years and was referred to Eyes of Texas by a coworker. Even though I was clearly sold on the procedure before walking into his office, I like that Dr. Wong still took the time to make sure that I was a good candidate for the procedure and that I understood the risks involved. Hours after the surgery, Dr. Wong called to see how things were going. There were also a few quick follow-up appointments to make sure that my eyes were healing and that my vision was improving. I can't remember my vision ever being better, even with contacts. I'm not normally the kind of person to write a review, but I am incredibly appreciative of Dr. Wong's work.

I went to a consultation at a different laser center and am so happy I kept searching and found Dr. Wong. He is awesome, and if you're going to have Lasik surgery, have it done at Eyes of Texas Laser Center because:

1) Dr. Wong is personable and thorough but not pushy. The other consultation I went to wanted me to make a decision on the spot, even though it wasn't the best timing for me. Dr. Wong said I could easily wait until after my vacation.

2) All the pricing is upfront at Eyes of Texas Laser Center, whereas the other places I checked with seemed to avoid giving the full price I'd have to pay.

3) Three days after my surgery, I went abroad for three weeks. I had a couple of moments that scared me, so I called the office (out of hours). Dr. Wong got back with me immediately and calmingly recommended how to solve the issue I was facing.

4) Staff was friendly from the very first phone call until the end.

5) I can see perfectly without glasses!

I was more than happy with my experience at Eyes of Texas Laser Center with Dr. Wong.

One of the best decisions I've made in my life, and no words can really justify the overwhelmingly positive experience I had at Eyes of Texas Laser Center! From the first moment I enquired with the staff over the phone to the very end of the procedure I was set at ease the whole way. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable and Dr. Wong is a true Master at his craft! It can be very nerve-wracking thinking about someone doing surgery on your eyes but if you're on the fence about this procedure then this is definitely the place to go to set your mind at ease. Literally the day after the operation that took just a few minutes, I could see clearer than I could have ever expected! There is no real pain and I walked out of the procedure with 20/15 vision! Fantastic experience with Dr. Wong and his team. I visited several other LASIK centers before choosing Dr. Wong for monovision LASIK. I chose Eyes of Texas Laser Center because my initial visit was with Dr. Wong himself - not an associate or a consultant. He was very clear and realistic about my options and the pros and cons of each. Procedure pricing is straight forward and transparent vs. the other centers. His office team made everything easy and comfortable and most of all efficient. Wait time for my appointments was minimal to none - with my schedule, I appreciate the patient empathy. The procedure was quick, easy and painless. Recovery instructions were concise and easy to follow. I'm extremely happy with my results. I highly recommend this office to anyone considering/needing a laser eye surgery.

I can't thank Dr. Shawn Wong enough for my new lenses as a result of cataract surgery. From the very beginning he makes you feel completely comfortable and explains everything thoroughly so you know exactly what to expect. You will not be disappointed!

There were so many great things about choosing this lasik office, but my favorite thing was that Dr. Wong meets with you every time from consultation to surgery to the post op appointment. My mom had lasik done by another place in Austin and she only met the surgeon on surgery day and never saw him again. The whole staff was friendly and hands on. My eyes have never been better!

I have to admit the thought of having ones eyes operated on is no small thing. It s huge, especially as a designer, my eyes are my livelihood! I was blessed to have really good vision for most of my life. Then the forties hit and the glasses covered up the deficiencies age had wrought. The problem was, I never got used to wearing them and in fact loathed them. This loathing inspired me to seek other options which led to extensive on-line research and eventually ended me a the door of Eyes of Texas Laser Center. The answer for me was lens implants. Basically a two week process, one eye at a time. From the initial phone call to the flow up phone call after I had my last lens replaced was nothing short of professional. Dr. L. Shawn Wong has assembled an outstanding staff and he himself is just a delight. A font of information, skill, compassion with a wonderful sense of humor. So how ed it go for me? I m typing this on my laptop .glasses free! From computer length to infinity I ve not seen this clearly for 25 years. I highly endorse the procedure and would definitely trust my eyes to Dr. Shawn and his staff if I had to do it all over again.

I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this staff and Dr. Wong. This has been the most satisfying medical experience of my life. I am so very happy with the results and recommended this group to any one who is thinking of getting Lasik. What an amazing experience!!!

Dr Wong is awesome. My experience mirrors all his reviews. He explained to me that he has been doing this procedure for a very long time and pioneered doing lens replacement surgery on younger people when the industry thought it should only be used on elderly people. I was impressed during the surgery how supportive he was talking you through the process and telling me how well i was doing. It really only took about 10 or 15 minutes but when you re trying to hold your eye still it s reassuring to hear from the person doing the procedure that you re doing well
and the procedure is going great. Highly recommend.

I had my procedure 6 years ago and wanted to relate not only my process but the long term results review! Staff was very friendly and professional. They included all details to myself and Wife, as we were very nervous (I make Video Games, so my Eyes are pretty important, lol). The procedure was quick and straightforward. My eyes started at -8.75 and -9.00 diopters before the surgery, so it was pretty bad. Within hours my eyesight had stabilized and was better than it had ever been. By the next morning it was clear and dramatically improved. By the following day I had extraordinarily sharp and clear vision, better than 20/20. No artifacts, glare, or any other defects in vision. I highly recommend them, absolutely one of the best decisions I have made.

Had cataract removal surgery with the corective lens transplant and am extremely pleased with the results. Dr Wong is atentative and very professional. He was informative, easy to talk with.
