Extreme Edge (climbing gym) Review

My daughter and I had a great time racing each other up imaginatively painted climbing walls. We climbed very high, but felt safe and supported. Good for youngsters and active oldies.

Great adventure playground for the little ones (with some steeper slides for the bigger kids) and good coffee Our 6 & 3yo loved the birthday party they attended here, the only thing missing is some couches to chill on while the kids play!

This place is cool for your own personal climbing experiences. A few different walls to test your climbing skills. It's decent for New Zealand standards. The main negative part about this company is the staffs attitude everytime i go there they seem to be arrogant and self centred. If the attitude changes then so will my rating.

Indoor climbing. Full to the brim with mad kids running and screaming around the place during the weekends, esp if its raining.

Been here a few times with my sons and we love it. Great workout that is fun and challenging. The speed wall is great for getting some competition going between your crew.

Excellent rock climbing centre, by far the best I've been to and there's walls for any level of experience and skill. Great place to go with some friends

Such a cool rock climbing place for kids! Heaps of different walls, all sorts of awesome designs, really creative and fun. They obviously love what they do, the environment was fantastic and the kids had a blast. It's mainly for children, I'd say 14 and under, but the main walls go way up high so all confidence levels are covered. There are also cool walls for much younger kids to climb and an awesome hand crafted playground. They were busy when we went in the school holidays but there are lots of walls and the kids didn't have to wait to climb.

Really good for all ages. There is a great indoor play area for kids to small to climb. You can also have kids birthday parties there.

Excellent for kids learning to climb with the hydraulic ropes, no belaying required!

Love the place. Tidy and well organised. The climbing routes are charged regularly so there is always a new challenge.

On a whim this week we decided to visit here (which we've done many times before). Was disappointing this visit however - many games (8+ of of not many more) were out of order (sometimes a kid likes a break from climbing), one out of two slides is STILL out of order (has been like this since the opening of the new playground months and months aho) and when we were there an instructor was busily, very noisily, drilling holes to put up a new rope to stop older kids (we're talking 9+) go down the popular inflatable slide. Sadly this is the last time we will visit. Not good value for money and not a good feeling. Monehy and time needs to be spent on this venue to stop it getting more derelict. The young staff really could have cared less too, spending more time talking amongst each other.

Great place to test your skills and have fun! Pricey, but worth every dollar

Great fun for the entire family. Gotta be fit & flexible though, some grades kill your forearms. Aim to spend at least 2 hours

Hosted my sons birthday there. Kids had a blast!
They have an online booking system to invite your guests to the list so they dont have to sign the waiver at the venue.
Makes it easier to track who is coming to the party and saved time.

Gotta be early for a good carpark though .. Can get busy in wkends and end up parking on road.

Been here multiple times. It's a great place for adults and kids. Theres a children's play and climb area which the kids absolutely loved. And theres heaps of climbing walls for adults too.

Great atmosphere and people are always so friendly and approachable there are a few different options for bouldering along the main walls .there are no specific routes just pick and go .most of the top ropes are pretty good there's a few tricky one near the far corner .I hope you have a wonderful time .

Awsum place to take the kids. Reasonable prices. Mind you, I didn't climb my self on the day.it was a pride thing I was going through. But next time I will. .

Wow, so much more to do than I expected, and so user friendly. Heaps to occupy the kids too, and the climbs cater for all skill levels. Great place.

We had a great time here. Really nice. and worth for the money. Our daughter enjoy her first time rock climbing. They got climbing for all ages. Very experienced and nice staff too. They got space for the birthday parties as well. Car park not that big and we had to park along the main road. They got little cafe inside.

I immensely enjoyed the indoor rock climbing.

Super fun. I was amazed how many fun exploration places there were in this place. Will definitely go back.

There was no social distancing coffee was terrible and no hand sanitizer but staff were well mannered and thumbs up for contact tracing system set up for us to fill.

Great family rock climbing gym with a lot of kid friendly walls as well as top ropes and lead climbs. There are awesome bouldering caves, but they are open for 14 year olds and up. They have a few snacks and decent coffee available. Fun place for kids' parties.

Only downside is that there is a lot of carpet that gets wet with rain and visitors, so it can get a bit smelly at times.

Love this place. There's rock climbing for all ages and has an indoor playground which my daughter absolutely loved, was difficult to get her to leave lol. We'll definitely be back

OMG was invited to go along with a friend didn't know this place existed.. what a awesome place to take the family, (kids to burn that energy haha) builds there confidence, all ages climbing here... Staff were great plenty to do and a waiting /chill out area ,,

awesome facilities but the manager isn't qualified. she changed my booking without notice even though I paid deposit and got confirmation. i booked a party table and 16 kids for 5th bday party. however, i was so embarrassed and disappointed when I realized that the table had been moved away without any contact, notice or a call. i had only less than half hour to have to accept her arrogant anouncment. she didn't apologize at all. also the staff has so low voice hard to listen. i ve been most of places in auckland where are popular for the kid's party. this one is the worse experience ever.

Great climbing gym! Friendly staff who all seem to love sharing their experience and expertise. Well kept facilities with drinks, snacks and coffee. Good variety of climbs and I believe this is the largest climbing gym in Auckland, would highly recommend.

Amazing place with so many climbing options for kids and adults of all ages and all levels of experience. Also great playing area for kids who are done with climbing for the time being. Instructors are friendly and helpful.

Recomend this place to anyone absolutely amazing for kids of all ages just celebrated 1 off our girls 5th birthdays here the kids that were to young to climb had a great time on the amazing playground and the older children all had an amazing time on the very creative climbing walls well done extreme edge on a great fun filled place to come the only down fall here is the nasty tasting coffee but will let you off for how good the rest of the experience is here thanks

Nice climbing gym. A litte crowdy over the week but really nice at the werkends. Lots of facilites for kids

Of the few big climbing places in Auckland, Extreme Edge has everyone beat in terms of space.

There's a wide variety of different routes and the holds generally 'hold' out (heh). It accommodates for all climbers, even beginners and kiddies.

I'd only take a star off from the place just because of the location. It's a little inconvenient if you don't have a car. If you do, it's pretty easy to get a park.
