I did not go to the museum, but the building is a magnificent work of art. Each year brings a different view angle and light reflections adds charm.

We've always enjoyed visiting and experiencing the EMP/MoPop on our visits to Seattle. Now that we live nearby I had to buy the family membership to show our support. This is a great place to bring friends and family for a day of inspiration and amusement.
Interactive, rich, and informative exhibitions! Pay for parking right across the street.
I Enjoyed every bit of it.. Especially the Jimi Hendrix & PEARL JAM exhibits. All U need is 1.5 hours to tour it thru..
Very cool. Unique exhibits, real props & costumes.
I think they can include some rooms with more contemporary singers
The Marvel exhibit is very well thought out and is worth every penny. Ends on March 3rd. The museum itself is absolutely amazing. I need to go back soon.
The staff were helpful.
Terrific! Really fun museums with all my favorite nerdy stuff.
Entertaining, enlightening, and countless memorabilia. You will learn something in each exhibit.
The exhibits here are incredible! So many original props and rare items. The curator has done a good job making you care about the genres (even if you're not a big fan) and the videos along the way are helpful.
I ended up staying a lot longer than I thought I would. We also went when the Marvel exhibit was there which was a great bonus.
Pretty cool but mostly boring for me. IDAF about fantasy or scifi or horror flicks but the rock and roll salute was interesting.
Not my favorite Museum, but it has some cool pop history. The building is very unique. It's next to the Space Needle and easy to get to.
A very cool looking museum, I loved the exhibits when I was there.
So this place is pretty cool, they have a ton of movie props from all over the place and the rotating exhibits were great. The only issue I had was that there wasn't a clear indication that there was another section of the museum. Some guy ended up telling us as we were leaving to check it out.
Really awesome place, great way to spend the day and be hands on with all the wonderful things they have inside.
very weird and unique place... came with CityPass, so it was kind of a bonus; not sure I'd pay full price to go in.
Great Museum. It is not as large as you would think. It is very expensive for what you get. So not great value. But it is really enjoyable.
A bit hectic but very engaging. Great way to spend your weekend!
Total waste of time. Most of the displays are clearly from old Planet Hollywood closed restaurants. Its super expensive and will take you less than an hour to see the entire thing. Don't waste your money or time!! There are so many other cool things to do there.
Love this musuem. When my kids were in elementary school, it was called the EMP. We were even members for 2 years. They added new stuff but the history of famous local musicians is still the best, I think. Once in a while, you want to refresh your memory of the famous people and realized that they were kids too and appreciate them even more. Oh yeah, adding comic stuff, Marvel, really attract the younger generations. My kids, in their mid 20's, came along to reminisce and enjoy the new "EMP" and Marvel, of course. :)
The museum here was amazing! I went when the marvel exhibit was still showing. Paying for the extra exhibit was worth it. There was so much history and analysis of how super hero became famous. Not only that but the the museum itself had so many amazing sections. One of my favorites was the Jimmy Hendricks, the science-fiction, and the horror section. This is a must in Seattle cause there are not many museums like this.
Not very interesting. Not enough room to move around. Boring exhibits and old displays.
This place is never boring, continues to evolve and is great to bring visiting friends and family to.
Love the exhibit and I think it's a must go to in Seattle..
This place is a must-visit for anyone who's ever enjoyed the nerdier side of pop culture
Pretty cool exhibits at the Museum of Pop Culture! Nerded out a bit when I saw some costumes actually worn in the filming of Harry Potter, or the light sabers used in Star Wars. Though I'm not a huge football/Seahawks fan, the area dedicated to the Seahawks was really cool, and I even watched a portion of the Superbowl movie they had playing in the theater. Lots of Seattle pride feels.
Would recommend if you love movies / guitars, but the movies and pop culture references are not the most recent, so don't come expecting Beyonce / Bruno Mars, think more Jimi Hendrix / Star Trek.
Had an amazing time here with my family. So much to see!
The museum is big and there are a lot of things to see. My favorite was the horror section and video games section. There is also a section for science fiction fans. It's a good place to go to when you visit Seattle.
Got to see a lot of the thing I enjoy. For those who like LOTR, GOT, Conan the Barbarian, Highlander, etc, the fantasy section is a must. For those who like Alien, Doctor Who, etc, go to Sci-Fi. Not to mention the Horror and music section that are fantastic as well.
Fantastic, nergasm, you name it. If you like sci-fi, come here.
A tachyon is anything that is in the middle of traversing a wormhole since its particles would be traveling faster than the speed of light and existing in the past, present and future as a singularity until it decided where in the space-time continuum it wanted to exit the wormhole. The sounds that cause my meltdowns.
K-pop came out and played a lot of things, but on Sunday it was too many people did not see properly .. weekend to go away ..
This was a great deal of fun for everyone in my group! We got here later in the day and managed to get to everything we wanted to see in the last hour they were open, but I'd recommend budgeting at least two hours for this, if not more.
Definitely worth the visit. Wish I would have had more time. The kids enjoyed it , but didn't enjoy the same things as me.
Oh, I LOVED it! Definitely worth the Money! My favorite part was the sound lab, where you could use and play many different musical instruments, such as piano, drums, your voice (Microphone), guitar, bass and much more!
This museum was okay and interesting but not my cup of tea. My boyfriend really enjoyed it so that's all that matters. The Marvel exhibit was the best thing there. I think if you had time I would check it out.
Besides fiction room is worth the price of admission alone. so mesmerizing to be in the same room as one of Jimi hendrix's real guitars or to see Kurt Cobain's handwriting in person.
The place was pretty big. We went during the Nirvana exhibit and there was really good amount of items that they had displayed. The jam area was really fun as well. However parking was extremely difficult to find.
What a fun, engaging and educational place! Loved the Marvel display but I have to admit Horror was definitely my favorite! Looking forward to going back and spending even more time there.
The marvel exhibition is quite short, and the Hendrix room is really small. I expected more, but it was still fun.
Very nice museum. Rotating exhibits keeps a fresh new feel to it. Some parts could be updated more with some new items. But overall it's a pretty cool.
It has a lot there. Kept my attention for a convention event.
3 levels of a variety of pop culture. My favorite part was the Marvel add on. Also really liked that costumes from the original show/film were there
Great fun. Lots of cool things to look at, from all sorts of genres.
2019 March, party of 2. We bought the tickets as part of the City Pass. We went on a Sunday, and it was not busy at all.
This was a block from the Space Needle.
If you love movies in detail, like wardrobes, tools, facts about, etc, yes, this is for you.
MoPop is my happy place <3 100% recommended for out of town art/music/pop culture geek friends
Near the entrance of the mega screen, where the videos are shown, you can get stuck. There is also a huge fascinating "statue" of musical instruments. A room where you can play computer games, children are not bored with us. Especially liked the part where you can play musical instruments. Very good. In the part where the horrors did not come, unpleasant sensations. Here it is necessary, can always make of nothing interesting.
I must have missed the point of this museum. In my opinion it was way over priced for the quality of exhibits. The interactive music section was, by far, the most interesting part, with instruments to play around on. I could see it being an overall good time for families, but in general the curation and educational materials were lacking in substance. The fantasy, sci-fi, and horror exhibits were a cheesy hodge podge of movie memorabilia, and the way the captions were put together failed to offer any real value or learning.
Great place for a visit. Many displays of your favourite sci-fi and fantasy films.
Fantastic museum for anyone in to nerdy stuff and a little music.
Such a great experience! Artifacts and exhibits from so many artists, TV shows and films. Note, they close at 5pm in some months (such as March, when we visited.
The museum is well laid out, we got to experience the Marvels, Jimi Hendricks, Nirvana Exhibits. It was overall a great experience
Really enjoyed the fun vibes...went for the Star Trek exhibit & loved the Sci-Fi exhibit also. Will derinitely return for future exhibits!!
The Jim Henson 'Muppets ' exhibition was AWESOME! Don't miss it!
Nirvana exhibit showcasing Kurt Cobain guitars, family photos, and original album art. Jimi Hendrix exhibit, Wild blue angel see Jimi's guitars, pass port, clothes and rough draft songs written in Jimi's handwriting. Pearl jam exhibit showcasing props from their tour, rehearsal studio and Grammy. Tons more to discover you won't be disappointed.
I had a blast hanging out at MoPop, this is a museum I could spend a whole day at if the schedule allowed it. I was able to explore the following areas with my favorites listed
The Thrill "Scared to Death" of Horror Film - There were some great movie props from classic and pretty current horror films. My Favs: Jason Voorhees, Michael Meyers, and the Walking Dead section.
Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction - Space Marines gear from Aliens, Starship Troopers Gear, Ghostbusters Proton Pack and Back to the Future Hover Boards.
Fantasy- Worlds of Myth and Magic. My Favs: Princess Bride Costumes, Conan's Sword, and a Dungeons and Dragons set from the 1970s. (yes, I nerd hard)
Marvel Exhibit - Statues of The Thing, Spider Man are a must for your social media fans. I loved how they broke down the history of Marvel Comics and how the heroes evolved. It's much better seeing and reading the art on the wall versus reading on the interwebs.
The Sky Church hall was constantly playing pop music videos. The sheer size of the visual and audio was amazing. The 8 Bit Nintendo World is cool to look at with games for the kids. The Hendrix and Nirvana section educates you on the talented artists.
Overall this place is an amazing visual, audio and informational experience that kept my brain stimulated and entertained for hours. It kept me awake when I was hungover working on 2 1/2 hours of sleep from my last night on the cruise ship. You are given a sticker that allows you to leave and re-enter the museum throughout the day. That was a great convenience I appreciated later in the day. The Gift Shops are dangerous as they sell a lot of cool stuff. It's on the pricier end ($36 with the Marvel Experience added) but if you're a Pop Culture junkie like myself, it's well worth it. Check it out and enjoy! =)
Need to monitor interactive activities such as be Ironman so people take turns properly
Well worth a visit if you are visiting Seattle, the EMP has some fascinating displays on cinema, music and more.
It was featuring my all time fave artist PRINCE ... Only negative... The exhibit wasn't big enough... Wish there was more
It s not the boring kind of museums. There s lot of things to do here and I really enjoyed my visit.
As a lover of art and Jimi , this place was just the kind of place for me to spend my afternoon.
The architecture of the building is so neat and awesome to see. The shapes, colors and materials used for the outside of the building are definitely intriguing to the eye. The location of the museum is pretty neat too, right by the Seattle space needle. The art pieces that reside on the outside of the building are pretty interactive and enjoyable for all.
The large tornado like structure of guitars is pretty trippy to see but awesome to capture on video or in a photo. I also enjoyed the live music via a band that was playing in one of the main open rooms of the museum. There s a studio room, where you can record vocals or instruments , it s a really cool idea. There was this hall of screams that was pretty entertaining and fun to walk through. The horror film exhibit was a treat for me, there were life like models of monsters and villains.
Now, for the part I literally won t ever forget, the Jimi exhibit...
I adore Jimi so much!!! Seeing some of his personal belongings and his notes and songs and all kinds of amazingness was more than satisfying for me!!! There was so much to see, from his fashion , to a recording studio setup of that in which he worked in... it was definitely an awesome sight.
I recommend this museum for anyone who appreciates art, and the culture that comes along with it.
If you re a Jimi fan, no need to think about it, visit the museum ASAP!
This was really fun. It has a bit of something for everyone. I would have preferred some areas to be bigger but it was still good. My kids loved the sound room! They enjoyed learning about how the instruments worked.
Best museum in Seattle. you can spend all day here. And you should!
