Ewing Diner Review

It's the best place in the area. Great Menu and recent farmost tastiest deserts due to a new baker. Love this place and it's service.

Came in today Saturday June 17, 2017. 7pm. Was seated on the left hand corner by the window, had this awesome waitress bring us some delicious desserts that I choose from the baked fridge. I was really craving a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream but I didn't see it in the menu. So, i asked the waitress if she can do that for me since I did notice a nice brownies in the baked fridge. She said " Sure, would you also like some wipped and chocolate syrup? I said sure. she said "Ok, I'll be right back. Kid you not, it was pretty it made me feel as if I was at the Cheesecake factory and the taste was Gradios to my liking. Thank you!!! It was and always a great experience.

Today August 13. I have visited the greatest Diner in Trenton City Area. The Ewing Diner..Last time I came in I wasn't so pleased with the baker, for that reason alone I held myself of coming in to enjoy a meal. I love pastries and cakes. The last baker in the beginning was pretty good, but after a while I didn't like the cakes or any other pastries, cake were dry and taset horrible.
Today was a new day. I walked in and straight to the glass display fridge i went where all the baked goods are. I was stunned by what i was viewing. Beautiful cakes. Yummy, I was extreamly happy to have made the decision on coming here today. I ordered 2 pieces of cake and an eclair. Best desicion today.

Ordered for pickup and the order was completely overcooked and wrong. Brought it all the way back to be told they DONT give refunds and it was my fault for not being more precise on my order (although ive been ordering the SAME THING there for years).

Had dinner here last night and had an okay experience. The food was good - I had the French onion soup and a patty melt. I really enjoyed the texture of the fries and everything was cooked to my liking. The only downside was the service. Our waitress was MIA half of the time and seemed to be all over the place. I m usually fine with this until you don t have anything to drink with your meal and have to just stick it out because she s nowhere to be found. We grabbed a slice of the caramel fudge cake to go and it was very good. Overheard another waitress saying that the cakes were outsourced from a bakery in Philly for the time being, but nevertheless it was a delicious piece of cake.

Very crowded. Seating is tight and the place is dark. Good food.

First time here. Food was great. I got a heart attack omelet. Yum!

Excellent selection on the menu, greek cooking is one of their specialties.

The best french onion soup I've ever tasted! The gyro was good but I've had better. French fries were absolutely delicious as was the cole slaw. Definitely worth a return visit.

Food was really great, staff was friendly. However, the waitress checked on us once after being served our food and we never saw her after that. We had to flag her down to get the check. It was a little busy so I'll give her that. Overall, great experience.

We were list when we pulled into the other Ewing diner on Olden Ave and saw it closed. Made a bee line to the other Ewing diner and found our regular staff. Great food. Great service. Nice place. We usually go for lunch but every meal is great.

I love this place. We love this place. It's our diner. Everyone had that place that they love and like to call their own. This is that kind of establishment.

The people and the food are fantastic. The waitresses are sweet, accommodating, and generous. The hosts are great as well, and incredibly helpful and genuinely happy to see you.

The food is great. Don't get me wrong, it's not fine dining, but it's excellent, satisfying, and worth the price. They make sure to give you your money's worth, too by filling and sometimes over-filling the plate. I almost always need a to-go box to take home.

Overall it's a wonderful place, where everyone is happy to see you if you're a regular, where you can always depend on the food being great, and for there to be a ton of it served by some of the warmest, most friendly service people in the industry.

Chicken stir fry with vegetables and rice. Very good and tasty and season just right.

I come to this diner all the time. I really like the burger from here but today I got nachos really not what I expected but I tried to eat them. When I look down I had a hair in my food told the waitress (Mary Jane) and she was very rude. She tried to make it seem like I put hair in my food.

Food not bad just the normal dinner fare. Nothing special but the prices are a little high. Cant afford the salads or the chicken and waffles

Food and service was good. People are very pleasant. Was very dissapointed in the Cinnamon bread. My husband bought a loaf to take home, and there was hardly any cinnamon in it at all! Was more like just bread! After paying $5 for cinnamon bread, it was a dissapointment. Go to the diner and enjoy the food, but do not purchase the NON- Cinnamon bread. You will be throwing away your money!

Excellent diner. Quality you'd expect from a diner. Large portions at a low price. Great coffee.

The prices went up just for breakfast for two it was $40.89 .Before when we went b it was just $23.08.

Great eggplant parm and rubens! And tapioca pudding if you're into that my significant other and i love this diner. We recently moved out of the area but make special trips now and then just to get a bite to eat at our old diner i recommend trying it out if you're nearby !

Great diner. Very shiny and clean. The food is good and nothing on the menu is terrible. I would get an omelette. I think the Pete's Omelette was really good. Also, BYOB. Nothing wrong with that.

The place was clean, the people were courteous and pleasant. Centrally located for food and close to the hospital

It's mostly not bad. Bit pricey, service is decent but could be better, some things to like on the menu and others that are not so great.

Having said that... What is the deal with not having grapefruit juice after 10:00?? This is a 24 hour diner! Do grapefruits only exist at certain times of the day? The only possible thing I can think that it could be is that it's in some kind of soda fountain and they change the concentrate to something else at 10. But even that doesn't make sense, and all other possible explanations are too bizarre to even give serious consideration. I don't get it, nope.

A little pricey compared to other diners on the area, but always good food and good service.

One of the best finds here, I'll be here a dozen or more times before it's over.

The food was great, but unfortunately there was a physical altercation between two female employees. The fight was very intense and was pushed in the kitchen where I heard more commotion. Being right there and seeing that behavior was unacceptable. I felt bad for the Elders (including my Grandmother) & the young children.

This is the best food from a Real Diner that I have had in a long time.

Wow! Great food, a lot of it, quick service and nice atmosphere! I ordered the Ewing Chicken special sandwich. Huge!!

Just average. Went at lunch time, they had a good selection of specials. Service was decent but all in all just average.

It's a good place to stop for a quick bite. Large portions, nice servers and GREAT desserts. Best strawberry cheesecake!

Placed a order over the phone arrived at the diner at the time I was told to. Was greeted when I walked in and asked for my name. They said the order was coming. 15 minutes go by and long story short they do not have my order. Will never give them my business again. Did not even apologize for wasting my time!

We only stopped by for coffee and we were not disappointed. The selection is huge and everything is top notch.

Got the meat lovers omelette, very good, coffee was always topped off. Service was prompt, which was impressive because the place was full, there was a wait for a table.

Great service great food! Quite unexpected in a dinner. The price is quite high for a dinner though. A hamburger is like, just a patty over bread. Adding lettuce/tomato will cost you more, and they will throw two onion ring and call it a delux! So watch out for little surprises.

Excellent gyro, friendly staff, will come again! I think the gyro is homemade and recommend it, but shakes too runny for my tastes. During my experience I attempted to order gyro and was instructed they were out of pita, alternatives were offered apologetically and I went with bread. After that, I ordered a shake to find they were out of chocolate, again alternatives offered, I picked and was happy with the result overall. The waitress apologized many times even though I was not upset. Their menu has many items and can be a bit daunting, not a complaint, only an observation. If you want good food with no frills, come here.

Mostly Good food and decor. The seat we were given was close to the open door and was hit by cool breeze all the time. I note someone else had the same problem a week before. I will ding them a star for that.

I went to this diner for the first time today after recently moving to the area, and it was the greatest experience I've ever had at a diner. Great service, a huge menu, the food was delicious, and I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

Usually great service, when with my parents. Waitress was awful, my favorite omelet, the heart attack, jalapenos tasted stale. Will try again next time in town, maybe I'll eat here, maybe!
