Very Good Croque Madam. Best I've had in this country. The only thing lacking was the service.

Very Good Croque Madam. Best I've had in this country. The only thing lacking was the service.
Fun little cafe downtown, the decor is cute and always love their breakfast options!
A cautionary tale of phone-in orders...
Any pastry aficionado knows that a good bakery sells out by noon, so since I was not able to arrive at Eva s bakery until 1:30pm I called ahead early that morning to place a phone order for afternoon pickup. They took my name and pastry order and set it aside for me. When I arrived downtown for the sole purpose of picking up my order from Eva s, I was told it must have accidentally been sold. To my utter dismay, I went home pastry-less.
Such a sweet little place! The coffee and eclairs were excellent. I loved the classy feel, very shabby chic!
I haven t had the food here really but the bakery items are hands down the best I ve had downtown. I love their brownies they definitely have that homemade taste to them, their cinnamon rolls are to die for, and they have a great selection of macaroons. If you are having cravings for something sweet, I high recommend checking Eva s out.
Served at the counter during a busy Sunday. Quick and easy to grab a cold brew and crossaint. Will def be back!!
This place is cute cute cute! The beautiful blue storefront brought us in, the delicious benedict and pistacchio cream puff wowed me and the sweet staff will bring me back. Quest and Laura were so lovely to us (a loud group of reuniting girls) and I really appreciated that they matched our energy and were eager to let us have our fun, I think they were having fun too :) Thank you for an unforgettable experience! Don't listen to the negative nancy reviews and go to Eva's ASAP!
I always go here for the sit-down meals. It is one of (if not #1) my favorite restaurants in Utah
Food is consistently excellent at this small French bistro. Although service can be slow, food quality and atmosphere more than make up for it.
I f'ing love their vegan cookies and I am not even kind of vegan
The chai was perfect. The staff was so friendly. We had the Quiche and it was excellent and a generous portion. Classy decor. Don't miss this place in SLC.
The chocolate croissants were delicious and tasted just like the ones I had in Paris.
Came with my husband on a weekend. The closest thing to actual French food was the macaroons which are so far from the actual pastry that it should have another name. My husband and I spent the last several years in France and he is French. They didn't even have any French breads. This place is a bastardized starbucks that looks like a French bakery on the outside. Would not recommend.
After years of searching, I have found my calling. It is to eat Eva's food and drink their coffee.
Love this old, established bakery. Food is awesome. Go early for best choices. Both breakfast and lunch dishes are wonderful.
Everything I've tried pretty amazing here. The quiche is divine and the Benedict is amazing. Sometimes service can be a tinsy bit slow but the waiters are always courteous. Also, I haven't seen these very often but if you have the chance to get a plum tart, do it. It is soooooo good. Wish I saw it more often.
didn't mind waiting 45 min, but got a little annoyed when host skipped us a few times. Ordered cappuccino in a mug, it came with a togo cup. The food came really fresh and hot. The stuffed French toast was amazing. Wanted some ketchup for the yummy potato but had to wait nearly 10 minutes for that. 5 star for food 2 star for service.
Fantastic bakery and a real gem in the middle of downtown SLC. I came with a party of seven and everything that we ate was delicious, including pastries, the french toast, the quiche and the melts.
My wife and I found the food and the venue "Fabulous!" It's fun to discover places like Eva's whenever we return to Salt Lake.
Certainly worth a return trip. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.
Ordered srambled eggs with a butter croissant...croissant was delicious as always..eggs were a BIG disappointment sent them back..waitress explained the way the eggs was cooked..I appreciated that.. her service was good and I appreciated her explaining why the eggs were cooked the way they were..hot chocolate was delish
The food was excellent, Stuffed French Toast was delicious. Service is great. Best Macaroons, I can't wait to try the other goodies I got.
Well, it is charming, food is very good, but when I was there for a few times, service was bad.
Best grilled cheese/tomato bisque and mocha lattes I've had
Wonderful French bakery and open on Sunday at 9am ...in Salt Lake City!
Came in for breakfast this morning, there is a sign "wait to be seated", so I waited for over 10 minutes. The server is running around, not once making an eye contact to acknowledge my wait. A person before me left 5 minutes into my wait. I left as well and won't be back. Hire more people and train your servers to acknowledge people and let them know they will be right back.
Same people that have Eva down the street. Super easy downtown location. Same great experience but in the morning. Really great way to start my day. Awesome breads and pastry. Had the very ubiquitous these days, avocado toast. Fresh and delicious. Solid Cappuccino and great friendly people. The people were lining up out the door but they move them quickly. Ill be back for sure.
Delicious pastries. Great homemade teas. Very nice staff.
This place was good. I got chocolate cake at the end of the day and it was kinda dry. But it was the very end of the day so I guess that s par for the course. Very friendly staff.
Try the coissant sandwich. It's hearty and flaky. Get here early in the day for a decent selection of baked goods. The service for dining in was fine, but not particularly friendly.
Ordering was easy, the staff was helpful and friendly.
The chocolate croissant was light and sweet, but I always wish they had more chocolate in them.
I've visited this bakery a few times just for a quick croissant and coffee. Today was the first time my husband and I sat down and had breakfast. The food was delicious, but my favorite part was sipping their delicious coffee. My husband also enjoyed his mocha. A nice place to relax before our long flight.
The best onion soup I ve tried in slc,the waiters are friendly and respect you space. The have a chocolate croissant with a coconut filling, that is delicious ever better the day after, and good quality coffee.
Great little spot for food. The macaroons are spectacular and the quich was tasty. Worth a stop. There bread is a must take home!
Great food but you'll get better service in France. Very pretentious staff.
Perfect place to enjoy a great onion soup and amazing salads and most importantly ...mimosas.
Eva's Bakery has to-go bakery items in addition to the sit down part of their restaurant. The menu has lots of yummy comfort food items and they serve breakfast all day. The boulange potatoes are to die for! The food definitely deserves 5 stars, but I gave Eva's four stars because the service is a little under par. The staff isn't super friendly and they don't explain the restaurant very well. For example, when you come in the restaurant the staff doesn't ask if you want to do take away pastries or a sit down meal. Lots of first timers end up standing around not knowing what to do. Also, even though it's a sit down restaurant you're supposed to pay at the register. The first time I went here I waited for a long time for them to bring me the check because they didn't tell me that I needed to pay at the register.
Amazing staff, very friendly and attentive. Amazing food came with a couple food bloggers friends, we all enjoyed the food.
The quiche was INCREDIBLE. This is a cute little French style spot. Highly recommend it however the baguettes were nothing to scream about. Just good but not fantastic.
They should take the title of Boulangerie out of the logo. I doubt any of the bakers have been to a real boulangerie that makes a good baguette. The baguette was grainy, tasted like lactic acid, and had almost no gluten structure when cut open. I have it 3 stars because the croissant and chocolate croissants are ok. Still think they should use more butter in their croissant tho. Take a trip to Paris to taste good bread and then come back.
Cute little bakery! We loved it. The lemon mirage pie was delicious!
I live in the UK but whenever I am back in SLC, I make sure to stop by Eva's. Honestly one of the best bakeries I've ever been to - everything I've had there has been absolutely incredible. Croissants are always perfect.
Adorable little bakery with lots of delicious options, but like most bakeries, you're going to want to get here earlier rather than later because they will run out of stuff as the day goes on. My favorite was the coconut macaroon. The brownie was also very good. The coconut cake was pretty good, but I didn't like the frosting. The best part, though is the atmosphere which is very cozy, warm and inviting. Very hygge.
Eva's bakery is a gem. We ordered the stuffed French toast & Quiche Lorraine. Both were excellent and very filling. If I lived in Utah this would be a regular stop for me.
Amazing! I came here for brunch and loved the egg s Benedict. I appreciated that it came with ham and spinach, along with some salad. The potatoes are sliced thin and are lemony - the ham is also thin. It s a little different than other egg bennys that I have had, but a treat nonetheless. I also got a chocolate croissant to go, which was perfect.
This is a four rating behind some of the best bakeries in the world. I'd still drive 40 miles to eat baked goods here.
One of their baked rolls, perhaps cinnamon, was a five, but the rest were solid 4, which on my scale is very very good.
I'm not comparing to Utah, but to SF, LA, NYC, Paris. We also sat and had a breakfast egg choices that all 3 of us enjoyed.
But I'm rating the place primarily on their baked goods. The breads were a 3 though. Perhaps best in UT, but still a 3.
They need a hostess to seat people. We waited way to Long for our food and when they forgot part they just didn't bring it even when reminded. We waited way to Long even to pay.
This place is a hidden gem! We tried their BLT and almond/choc croissant and it was just so delightful and flavorful. Definitely going back to try more things on their menu.
Honestly, consider me a little unimpressed from my encounter here because it was seriously underwhelming.
I had read SO much about this place and people always sing its praises, but I didn't think this was the best bakery I've been to on my lifelong hunt for macarons.
The macarons were slightly more expensive than my regular bakery at $2.25 a pop. They were good, but the staff could hardly explain what the flavors were and wouldn't even try to describe some of them like the Grasshopper. I didn't know what that flavor was and the guy was TOTALLY disinterested and told me: "It's Grasshopper." Yes, I know, I can read.
The service was what really blew me off about the place. They were all so blase over my being there. They couldn't have cared less even though I spent quite a pretty penny on a bunch of macarons.
Probably wouldn't go back purely because of the rude attitude I received.
Eva's is one of my favorite places to stop in for lunch downtown. They have great grab and go options if you're looking for something to take out. They also have a larger menu if you want to sit down for breakfast or lunch. Plus, the bakery items are always delicious.
I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. Prices are reasonable.
Holy moly. Yeah, this place is a 5-star.
a) Chocolate croissant? Flakey with a crunch. Chocolate was kind of weak but meh, still good. 40 out of 50.
b) Almond croissant? 50 out of 50. Not overly sweet -- which I prefer. Westerners love their diabetes. Me? I am half-sweet kind of guy.
c) Quiche? I have never been a quiche person so 36 out of 50. (Note: 25 out of 50 is average). My buddy gave it a 45 out of 50 since he loves him some eggs.
d) Cold brew? With sugar and milk, dope. Liked it. Not amazing but for $2.50 I'd gladly drink it again.
Overall: It's downtown. I'm lazy. But the drive is worth it. Five star.
One of the best spots in the area. The service here is great.
Super nice people. Awesome food. Perfect ambiance. Two thumbs up.
Food is absolutely amazing. I have never had trouble with the service either. I totally recommend this place to friends and family.
Great pastries & coffee... if cashier girls can be more friendlier, when my daughter & I walked in there was no Welcome or Hello or can I help you with something?! I had to ask if I can go ahead and order she looked at me like "Yeah?" (Meaning Duh) I don't know what her problem was
The service is horrible. Expect to wait a long time, or get up and big the staff. The food is great however. Tough to say is it's worth the hassle though.
Only been there once, but had a great experience. Nice people, very good breakfast, including a solid vegan offering.
I love this place, their pastries are excellent, the coffee is a tasty dark roast.
This is a wonderful Salt Lake gem. Brunch is delicious (and reasonably priced as well). I had the French dip sandwich and it was delicious. You can also just order coffee and a pastry up front if you aren t a fan of waiting for brunch. Either way, the food is delicious and the coffee is fabulous. The service here is also fast a friendly. This place is definitely worth a visit.
i really loved this place. the service here is outstanding. the bill was reasonable i would say.
Nothing to complain about. Service treated us so kindly. The bill was fair for the quality of food. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.
The best breakfast in Salt lake.
Very careful products, with an atmosphere reminiscent of a French cafeteria.
The Service Quality. Totally recommended.
Absolutely love this place. Lively and fun atmosphere with delicious food.
The stuffed French toast is to die for.
I've been here a number of times, and I'm always full and happy when I leave. Their house coffee is good, with free refills, and their beet and avocado open sandwich is to die for. Staff has always been nice to me, and I always recommend this place to friends!
Absolutely the best French toast in the whole world!
Best breakfast in SLC! The food is delicious, the location is divine, and the atmosphere is delightful!
The ambience was nice. The cafe mocha was ok. Unfortunately both my friend s and my grilled cheese panini were burnt. Our tomato soups were salty. Sadly we were both disappointed. Washrooms were clean.
Love this little place, great food and warm drinks, really reminded me of a small cafe we visited in Paris.
Best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted! Such a treat!
Fabulous bakery with wonderful meals. We stopped in for breakfast & pastries. Old world artisan breads & pastries of extremely high quality. Absolutely worth a visit.
Very slow service (take out order was 30 minutes late and coffee was cold), but the food is outstanding.
They make the best fresh salads daily and their Chocolate croissants are to die for.
Amazing food and service. Love the European feel. It's a fantastic place to eat
If you are looking for Healthy options, please visit this place! Food is great but they need to work on portions. There were days its a big portion and there were days its small. Customer service is great but they mess up a lot. Over all, great experience
The French would be proud. Everything is good, at this place. Baguette, omelette, cheese.
Have only stopped by for the pastries and they are great . Very tasty macarons!
As a pastry lover, I was very pleased with this place. Super friendly staff and very willing to be flexible with people who didn't really know how things work at Eva's:) we had the chocolate croissant, upside down corn cake, raspberry macaron, blueberry danish, and cinnamon roll. We developed a sugar buzz so ordered a frittata on top of it and were not disappointed!
In true European fashion, this bakery is done correctly! With the best pastries and baguettes in SLC area, the only time to be disappointed is when they've run out of the top items. Delicious breakfast and takeaway croissants, it's a favorite!
Great breakfast spot. Food was excellent. Service was amazing. Everything was fast, fresh, and tasty.
Nice little bakery and cafe. Loved their french onion soup.
