I selfishly don't want to post a rating because I want this place all to myself. I love Eva's Bakery. It's been a few years since I discovered it, but I'm still just as satisfied with the food served today as I was the first time I visited. I appreciate that you can call in to reserve the pain au chocolat as that goes very quickly. Honestly, everything is good here though. It is usually very busy, so just keep that in mind if you're going to visit. It is definitely worth the crowd and wait.

Not sure what happened to this place. In the beginning of quarantine they provided cute window service, it was done well and safely. I went last weekend and they stopped window service and were allowing lines of people to come inside. They weren't enforcing masks or any of the new precautionary health code standards. Very disappointing to see during a world pandemic.

I recommend it :) Cute shop with vintage style. They offer staff service (e.g. getting sitted in a table) there is a classic selection of bread and drinks; overall it is affordable.
I noticed that most of the costumers are in their mid thirties and over and they seemed very happy.
If you come you have to try avocado toast!
Overall I felt content with the place but I was not excited.

This place looks like it could be a movie set! The employees were super helpful in selecting the best breakfast. The food is so amazing that words don't suffice. Go there and eat and you'll understand. I recommend the German chocolate croissant or the cheese and ham. Worth the trip to Salt Lake just for this place.

Perfect little place to relax with a great atmosphere. Very friendly service. Good coffee and tasty pastries. I d recommend the raspberry macaroons! I m not typically a mocha fan but with their house chocolate added in it I ll likely order it again.

Everything I've had at Eva's has been absolutely delicious! Both from the breakfast/lunch menu and then their pastries. But the coconut macaroons are TO DIE FOR! No trip to Eva's would be complete without them.

My experience left something to be desired. The friendliness of staff and portion size was lacking. I asked if I could be seated and the reply was a short, abrupt answer almost to the point that I was inconveniencing her. The waitress was nice, took my order and dropped off my food never to return again except for the check. I asked for a to-go order and she brought it at the same time as she delivered my food. Wouldn t you typically wait until you were almost finished with my meal and bring it to me with the check? In terms of portion control, I ordered the steak sandwich which was a good. It came with 7 thinly sliced potatoes (yes, it was that few that I could count them). Definitely won t return.

The service at this place seems like a joke, after reading many similar reviews seems like I'm not the only one. I got a lemon pound cake and macarons and all were just okay. Take a picture of the front and keep it moving. Too many other good places close by with better service and products.

Most of the pastries are pretty good, but I'm very disappointed with the careless service. I came in today with my BF at 3PM or so to buy some pastries, including some day old discounted pastries ( I know that they were discounted because they're wrapped in plastic wrap and I was charged the correct discounted price for one of the pastries when I went in 30 minutes prior). Imagine my surprise when I look at the receipt a few hours later and realize they charged full price for all the discounted pastries (the full 2.75 for a canele instead of the $1 or so it should have cost and the full 3$ for the corn cake). Good pastries but the lady working at the counter today really needs to start being more careful. We even mentioned it was the discounted pastries when we handed it to her, assuming she'd know to charge us the right price. That's what I get for trusting them instead of checking the receipt immediately after I guess!

Came here on Memorial Day. I was a bit worried about the wait since I could already see a long line through the front door window, but the staff was fast and we were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The place is extremely small so I do not recommend dining in with a large party. Our table was literally inches apart from other guests...so close in fact that we had to move the table to the left or right just to let people squeeze through. That was a bit disappointing as it doesn't make dining a comfortable experience. My wife ordered the avocado toast with beets and I opted for the french toast. The avocado toast and beets were pretty good. Wish I could say the same for my french toast. It was completely drowned in a blueberry sauce and made the entire meal soggy. All in all, this place was just average and not worth the hype by other reviewers.

Excellent food and freshness. Quick service, even when the place was almost full, and accommodating staff. Only down sides were a misunderstanding on my order and my coffee was not hot, but did not ruin the experience.

The stuffed French toast was very good. Prices were average for a downtown spot. Service was excellent. I'd recommend stopping by for a coffee or treat. The salads looked good, but I did not try one.

Beautiful French inspired bakery! It was a great place to grab delicious lattes & cappuccinos and a small bite to eat. We didn't get a full meal, just some tasty bakery items, but if you sit down you can order from a bigger menu which all looked great. Would definitely recommend the chocolate croissants!

The food was good. But they didn't give me a receipt and I only authorized the payment for the total and left cash for a tip in the jar -- I got my credit card receipt and they had added a $2 tip to the balance after I had signed. Don't make the mistake of paying with a credit card. Or just don't go to this place. I wonder how many people are being overcharged the same way!

30 minute 'to-go' order. Went here yesterday and it was extremely slow, but thought it was a fluke so came back. (The pastries are good).

Went in to have a piece of quiche, avocado toast, and two coffees to go. In your head how long will this take? Multiply that threefold.

Employees heated up my quiche, then had confusion about how to/who will make the toast. Finally made it to the register after 10 min. Paid for all my items, was given my quiche, no toast, no coffees. Asked about my coffees and they said 'oh yeah, it'll come up' (except the paper cups and coffee machine are a foot behind you). I smiled and said 'sure' and waited at the entrance.

Watched another 5-7 people get served and then was given my toast. We are about 20 minutes in and the quiche is cold. I now have to remind the employees I'm still waiting for two coffees, and guess what? While they were busy giving everyone coffees behind me in their to-go orders, they ran out. So now I'm waiting for an entire batch of coffee to be brewed.

The guy gives me my coffee about 25 min in and asks me 'that was everything right?' And now I have to say 'yes, but now everything is cold'.i now watch them reheat a new quiche and make a new toast.

I understand how it gets busy - just help a customer out from beginning to end. The system that's in place isn't working. At least the food is good?

It is truly...the best breakfast place in Salt Lake City. But I am open for suggestion. Please let me know if you know where else is as good as Eva. Limited seating unfortunately...thank God we went early on a Saturday morning.

Stuffed french toast and a cappuccino is the way to go. I would recommend eating a brunch here for sure! It's not the largest location, but the atmosphere is very friendly and comforting. They have all sorts of pastries and entrees to indulge in.

Girls behind the counter could use a BIG refresher course on friendly customer service! I felt like my being there was a pure nuisance in their day, plain and simple, I was treated rudely and I'm usually easy, easy to please. A slight smile at any point and a thank you could have saved the day. Food is good, not spectacular and the place is cute but with dozens of cute places that serve good food in Salt Lake, I'll choose one with friendlier service next time. Up until today (Thursday, September 1, 2016) I was a fairly frequent diner and would recommend Eva's.... not anymore.

Our first time here and we want to go back already! This place is so delicious! I love that you get a salad with breakfast, get those veggies in. We were so impressed with the delicious croissant breakfast sandwich, potatoes, & side salad. And we also ordered a chocolate croissant to split and it was sooo tasty. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my husband ordered a cappuccino and didn't get it until 40 minutes after we ordered and by then we had already finished our meal. The atmosphere was nice and very much like a french pastry shop. Loved the option for outdoor seating as well! Overall, great place to grab a bite.

I placed a to go order so that I could have something quickly on my short lunch break. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with no tomato because I'm very allergic to them. I left in a rush and got back to work to realize I wasn't given any silverware to enjoy my sides and I couldn't eat the sandwich due to the juice from the tomatoes that were left on it. I understand places make mistakes. But it cost me $10 and my lunch. Please try not to overlook these small steps.

Food tasted fresh. Bread was amazing. The wait time for a Saturday was over an hour which seemed pretty high but there isn t a lot of seating as it s a small location. The waitress forgot part of our order, maybe next time we will just order out since the wait and service was the only thing we did not like.

Came here to take a break from a conference and was very pleased.

The staff was friendly and helpful: case in point, I watched someone else spill a drink all over themselves and the table, the staff promptly and politely helped clean up the mess while still making sure service moved for the other guests.

In terms of food, I couldn't ask for more. I had a mocha, which was good, and the stuffed french toast, which was GREAT. Plenty of blueberries on top, the toast was crisp without tasting stale, and the filling had a good consistency appropriate for the toast. It was definitely not a healthy breakfast, but it didn't feel heavy and awful, they did a good job. Recommended!

Came here for a late lunch around 2. It was the perfect time since there wasn't a lot of customers. It was my first time and the server gave some good suggestions. Went with the Chicken sandwich and that was done pretty well, the server wasn't the most engaging but she definitely kept our drinks filled and got us anything we wanted. Such a cute and calming environment, perfect for brunch and then a walk around town.

Amazing French bakery in the heart of downtown SLC. We ordered sandwiches, pastries, and a couple baguettes for good measure. Everything was excellent. The croissants were flaky, sandwiches were loaded, the soup was rich, and the baguettes had the perfect balance of give and crunch. Definitely worth a stop or two!
