Any idea why the smart meters installed in Dalkey is not acting smart? Still being asked to submit meter readings. I called the provider and they asked me to reach out to your office. I was waiting to talk to someone for 40 minutes on the call but no response. The new meters where installed last year but theres no real improvements with bills, instead it seems to be giving me more expensive bills after installing the new meters. Have to wonder if ESB new smart meters are set that way.

About ESB

As a strong, diversified, vertically integrated utility, ESB operates right across the electricity market: from generation, through transmission and distribution to supply.

ESB: A Leading Utility Company in the Electricity Market

ESB is a well-known utility company that operates across the electricity market. With a strong, diversified, and vertically integrated business model, ESB has established itself as a leader in the industry. The company's operations span from generation to supply, making it one of the most comprehensive energy providers in Ireland.

Founded in 1927 as a state-owned enterprise, ESB has grown significantly over the years and now serves millions of customers across Ireland and beyond. The company's mission is to provide reliable and sustainable energy solutions that meet the needs of its customers while also contributing to a cleaner environment.

One of ESB's core strengths is its diverse portfolio of assets. The company owns and operates power plants that generate electricity from various sources such as wind, hydro, gas, coal, and biomass. This allows ESB to balance its energy mix according to demand while also reducing its carbon footprint.

In addition to generation assets, ESB also manages an extensive transmission network that delivers electricity from power plants to distribution networks across Ireland. This network includes high-voltage transmission lines that span hundreds of kilometers and connect major cities with rural areas.

ESB's distribution network is equally impressive. It covers every corner of Ireland and ensures that homes and businesses have access to reliable electricity at all times. The company invests heavily in maintaining this network by upgrading aging infrastructure with modern technologies such as smart meters.

Apart from generating and distributing electricity, ESB also offers supply services through its retail arm – Electric Ireland. This division provides competitive tariffs for residential customers as well as tailored solutions for businesses looking for cost-effective energy options.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, ESB has set ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions while increasing renewable energy capacity. By 2030, the company aims to reduce carbon emissions by 50% compared with 1990 levels while increasing renewable energy capacity by up to 40%.

To achieve these goals, ESB has invested heavily in research & development (R&D) initiatives aimed at developing new technologies such as battery storage systems or electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The company also collaborates with other stakeholders such as universities or start-ups on innovative projects related to clean energy solutions.

In conclusion,

ESB is an outstanding utility company operating right across the electricity market: from generation through transmission & distribution up until supply services via Electric Ireland retail arm.

With decades-long experience under their belt since their establishment back in 1927; they have become one of Irelands' leading companies providing millions with reliable access.

Their diversified portfolio allows them not only flexibility but sustainability too; they own power plants generating different types/sources like wind/hydro/gas/coal/biomass which helps them balance their mix according

to demand whilst reducing their carbon footprint.

Their extensive transmission/distribution networks cover every corner ensuring homes/businesses have access anytime needed; investing heavily into maintaining/upgrading aging infrastructures using modern techs like smart meters.

Electricity Supply Board (ESB) sets ambitious targets towards sustainability aiming at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by half compared with levels back in '90s whilst increasing renewable energies capacity up up-to forty percent come year 2030.

They invest heavily into R&D initiatives aimed at developing new technologies like battery storage systems/electric vehicle charging infrastructure collaborating alongside universities/start-ups on innovative projects related towards clean-energy solutions.

Overall,

If you're looking for an experienced utility provider who can offer you reliability/sustainability/cost-effectiveness all-in-one package then look no further than Electricity Supply Board (ESB).
