Food was very good. The fish of the day was fresh and tasty. Lamp was very good. Went there for lunch. Better than expected for the price. Galaktomboureko was good too, better than many other places.

John liked his food. He had grilled shrimp and Greek salad. I went for heirloom tomatoes and shrimp in tomato sauce. The tomatoes were over ripe, and shrimp were nor rinsed properly. Personally i found the sauce not a good pairing to the shrimps.

We've eaten here and the food and service is very good.

However be careful ordering online via Google/chownow. There's something dodgy with the order actually being for "Eros Meze" which is probably a ghost kitchen in the diner next door, but shares the phone number and at least part of the name for this restaurant.

Myself and a group of friend have been there twice for birthdays. The drinks are good the staff is great, the food is a bit expensive but so worth it. We make sure to get the same waiter every time because he is so great, he was even able to play a requested song for the birthday girl. The manager is also awesome as he was the one that found the song we requested. We loved it so much we were the last to leave on both occasions and they didn t rush us out either they are all so nice. This might be our girls night out spot from now on. LOVE THIS PLACE.

This is my go to place for traditional Greek Salad. I've never actually been to the place but I order from them on Seamless whenever I get that feta cheese/tomato/cucumber craving.

They always include a free dessert, regardless of how little I order. Great way to bribe me into always coming back. :-)

Had the Grilled Halloumi and Greek Salad. Real EVOO. Sat outside and people watched. What could be better!

Excellent food and service., was recently there for a Birthday dinner with friends. We had a large Greek salad for starters then the Branzino and Moussaka for the main course ...all of which were exceptional .

Very authentic food. The restaurant is very cozy and provides a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable, especially since the serving size was generous.

Good food, but bad customer service. One waiter is especially rude and unprofessional. Also, when I called to make a reservation, a worker was rude and rushed me while I was providing my information. He didn't even ask for any further information, such as a phone number or email address.

Great beer selection but the food was very disappointing. The fries that came with the burger were cold. The hotdog should really be less than 2 dollars, because it tastes worse than the ones from street carts. No grill marks and could be microwaved... not to mention cold...

Every dish was top quality, perfect technique and preparation on the seafood especially. Drinks creative and well prepared, very friendly bartender and even the music (from a love DJ tucked in a corner) was carefully composed to feel elegant but playful.

We held a small wedding reception here in late July. The staff was incredibly accommodating and food is AMAZING! Everything seasoned to perfection. Regardless of your dietary preference, you'll enjoy anything from the menu! Atmosphere is beautiful as well. Thanks Eros!

The service is great. An all around great place for delightful food. To eat in peace.

I'm not at all one to stuff myself silly, but man oh man, it definitely happened here.

I'm critical of Greek food. As in, really critical. I went in with low expectations, thinking the food might taste ok but nothing amazing.

Wrong. Ohhhh so wrong.

The food made me feel like I was eating straight out of my yiayia's kitchen. The flavors and textures were to die for.

I'm fairly confident I had to be rolled out the door and wasn't hungry for a week straight afterward.

It was absolutely delicious authentic-tasting Greek food and I can't wait to visit NYC again for more.

Really cool atmosphere but the food was just average. Seafood was under-seasoned and tasted very bland and the texture of some dishes like the sea food orzo and octopus were just too chewy. Felt like solid rubber at the bottom of my stomach. For the prices they are asking on the menu it is just unacceptable.

On June 30, 2016, I had the great pleasure of eating dinner at Ethos with my wife and daughter! We are from Puerto Rico and wanted to find a restaurant with wonderful Greek food. At Ethos we had one of the best dinning experiences ever! Our waitress was not only attentive to all of us and especially to our daughter, but also offered great advice as to the entrees and wine. They appetizer, spanikopita, was extremely tasty, and our entrees were prepared to perfection! The mousaka was deliciously aromatic. Everything was tasty and filling. The Greek wine was delicious! And our dessert, a custard with phyllo leaves, was warm, sweet, and very tasty! They treated us like family and we look forward to returning!

This is a favorite for my wife and I. The grilled octopus app is simply fantastic every single time, grilled to perfection with just the right amount of spices and always the perfect consistency. The Ethos salad is a perfect match for the octopus as well.

Meat is never over cooked and is always flavorful, the fish is also always done just right and so tasty! There's literally not one thing I would not recommend. If I HAD to nitpick, I'd say that their wine list by the glass could use an improvement. But that's kind of reaching.

The staff is always very courteous and tries to be as helpful as possible. No complaints there. It can get noisy at times, but its a place to be with good friends and enjoy being out, not a fine dining morgue for snobs.

As far as that dumb comment from Michelle, in regard to it not being authentic.. what the heck does that even mean you doofus ? Not authentic food? Not authentic Greek? Um... hate to break it to you dummy, but this IS NYC and not Greece. Have you ever even been to Greece? The owners btw are from guess where? Yep, Greece. Dumbest thing I've read in a bit, and that's after all the dumb reviews of the new Radiohead album!

Ethos is freegin' awesome.

Amazing! Best greek spot in the area. The shrimp with garlic and oil are incredible, jumbo shrimp cooked in the shell. The Greek sausages are so flavorful and a nice portion. Mussels are fantastic. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Must try spot. Definitely not a cheap eats kind of place however

Exceptionally great food! We had the baby octopus and Greek salad appetizers along with baby lamb chops for our entree. We received incredible service from our waiter, Kaza. Not only that but they atmosphere was lovely, nice low lighting with great background music. We are visiting here from Miami but would recommend this place to fellow tourists and natives alike

Food was of good quality, but I ordered a salad, paid $9 for additional shrimp and got a small box which only included the inedible tails of shrimps without the shrimps themselves...Perhaps it was a mistake, but either way it was not acceptable.

A friend and I ordered delivery; She got the salmon and it was wonderful. I ordered the "Grilled Baby Octopus". Unfortunately, this restaurant is one that calls regular adult octopus "Baby" There was not a single baby in the order - It was all large tentacles, although sliced up into small pieces. It was ok and well-prepared for normal grilled octopus, but I have a strong preference for baby O and would not have ordered it otherwise. I am so annoyed by this practice of calling adult octopus "baby octopus". to me it is nothing less than false advertising. So I sent it back. The order was placed on Seamless so now I have to hope the process works wait to see if and when the credit comes. Despite this disappointment, I give Ethos 4-stars for the reasons I say, and I've eaten 'in' there before, and it was great, and the decor and vibe is nice.

Had a reservation, showed up early.... Took 15 minutes to be seated.... 15 minutes after being seated we left without being offered water or menus.... Extremely loud crowd, probably all trying to grab the servers attention.

Simply the best Greek in Manhattan. I have been there from. the old location and the new. Decor is tasteful, atmosphere is great, service is professional and efficient. Pricing is reasonable, menu is large and the food... well, like I said, the best Greek in Manhattan!

Well, we started with the Pikilia Spread (choose 4 spreads). My favorites were the whipped red caviar and the Greek yogurt and the pita bread was as close to authentic as I have ever had. Of course we partook in two bottles of wine, one red and one white and they were both recommended by the server and delicious. Their list is pretty extensive for both wines by the glass and the bottle.

I ordered the Solomos (wild Atlantic salmon charcoal grilled with lemons and olive oil and topped with red peppers and capers). I can't describe how beautiful the dish was, how delicious it was or how high quality the salmon was. The capers were a nice salty touch that blended well with the lemon undertones of the dish. The rice side that I ordered was good but, I think I might choose something else next time to better compliment the salmon flavors. I was sad that I wasn't able to finish this dish after filling up on the pita bread.

The food was great! I had the Moussaka, ground meat/eggplant/cheese, and it was perfect. The custard dessert at the end was also a great little treat.
My only complaint would be t h at the music was a bit louder than I find comfortable.

Good service and good food. Good place for kids on weekends. Nice saltwater fish tank with some interesting inhabitants. Very friendly staff that promptly corrected our bill when we found an error.

Cozy, quiet place and the staff was friendly.

Cozy, quiet place and the staff was friendly.
The seafood was fresh and perfectly grilled. Yogurt based gnocchi tasted lighter than traditional pasta.
All the dishes were good and at the end, they gave us a complimentary house dessert which was so delicious. Would defi itely go back and this place is worth recommending.

this is not the same ethos as in murray hill. ethos gallery as this one is called is much better at everything. it is like stepping into a taverna in mykonos, except this food and service are much better than most on the greek isles. enjoy!

Okay atmosphere, but lousy food and a bit of a rip off. From my experience, this restaurant does not merit the 4/5 rating on this site. My wife and I split a salad and had fish brochettes and sea bass. Total without wine was more than $90. In an upscale restaurant that would have been appropriate, but this is just a notch above a diner. And the food was badly prepared and the portions small. The $15 salad consisted of one chopped tomato, a few slivers of romaine and pepper, some onion, 4 olives, and about 4 tablespoons of feta with a dash of oregano and olive oil. I could make it better at home for around $2.75. The $28 brochettes consisted of 2 small shrimp, 2 small squares of swordfish, and 2 medium scallops separated by postage-stamp squares of pepper and onion with tiny cherry tomatoes at the end and a little pilaf of rice. Not only was the portion tiny, but the whole thing was charred and rubbery, as if it had been pre-cooked and reheated. Had I cooked this at home I would not have apologized to my guests. My wife's $30 grilled sea bass was not ruined, but all in all the meal was most disappointing. Even a gratis dessert from the waiter -- either policy or an attempt at compensation for a bad deal -- did not improve our take on the place. Again, pleasant enough atmosphere, but mediocre food and a rip off.

While there are many good local Greek restaurants in NYC, Eros on Third street is tops. The food is traditional yet has a current flair. Whether you are seated at the bar having a lite snack or enjoying a full meal, you will not be disappointed! Delicious and tasteful with courteous and attentive service is the signature of a successful restaurant. Great food at a reasonable price is not to be missed.

The decor is nice and sets the mood well for a date night. Menu is extensive and food portions are huge. The pita and bread was still warm when it got to us. The olive dip was decorous. We order the lamb shank with orzo. The lamb was tender and falls off the bone. Orzo was slightly under seasoned but if you eat it together with the lamb it s quite tasty. We also order the seafood paella (made with orzo). Plenty of mussels, salmon, and scallops! Flavor was really good. Would recommend going around 6 to avoid the crowd.
