Came here my first day in Madison. Great food, great service and a huge beer selection. Definitely going again.

Came here my first day in Madison. Great food, great service and a huge beer selection. Definitely going again.
The shepards pie was delicious. Clean and nice atmosphere.
Always love this place! The shepherds pie is one of my favorites!
Food good, nice facility. Our waitress wasn't very ambitious.
Good food great service. And the BBQ ribs I loved the most!!
Great Reuben sandwich and cold Guinness beer. Always a good lunch
Stepping Away from the Norm
A light rain welcomed me back into town after my lighthouse trip. I needed to take a wee bit of the nip of cold off my chest and decided to dine at Erin s Snug.
Here s a tad bit of history that I learned while waiting on my meal. In Ireland, a pub is referred to as a public house or gathering place used for gossip, meetings even worship services. They were also living quarters that were expanded as needed. Erin is synonymous with Ireland. A snug is an alcove generally attached to the bar and accommodated women that did not want to be seen having a wee nip or two.
The dinner menu offers a wide category of items with plenty of selections under each. In Irish Specialties, I tried the Guinness Stew. Homemade tender beef stew in savory Guinness sauce that came topped with a puff pastry. A side salad comes with it. The meal was filling and just what was needed on a rainy Saturday evening.
Overall: The meal was worth it s price and left me satisfied for the remainder of the evening. Erin s Snug offers breakfast which I plan to try next.
Our first visit was just so-so. Hubby had the fish and chips, which was very good. 7yo daughter had the fish sandwich from the kids' menu, also very good. I had the whiskey bbq rib special; it was just okay. My mother-in-law had the broiled chicken; it was so overdone, she could barely pick anything off the bones. She said it also didn't taste fresh; she suspected they just reheated a leftover chicken from the day before. We did let the server know about the chicken and she removed it from our bill. It'll probably be awhile before we try Erin's again.
Unique and friendly atmosphere, great food (a little pricey). They have a bar, dining room, fireplace, comfortable seating, and lovely artwork throughout. Great for a dinner date or large group event. I would recommend calling in advance for reservations on weekends.
Absolutely a place worth stopping by, the food is great and well prepared, the costs are affordable and it is regularly well organized in here. Kudos.
Great food and atmosphere, service was also very nice. Clean.
This place has really gone down the tubes, even on a Friday night. The steak is of a quality compared to highway side diners, the beer options couldn't be more standard and all of their prices are comically high. I had a nice server though!
I was a bit disappointed. While I heard their food was great I found the food was only so-so. I ordered my burger medium-rare and it came well done. The pub fries were also only lukewarm like they had been sitting up for awhile before being served.
It's just another place to eat. I've had better for the price
Had the French onion soup and it was fantastic. Great food and great service.
Food was good, service was good. Wish there were more options for low carb eaters.
Great atmosphere outside for a happy hour on a beautiful day.
The place serves large portions and for convenient pricing. super friendly employees. Highly recommended.
The food and atmosphere were amazing and our server, Annie, was very attentive!!! Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area:)
Okay food but great place to meet up with people, have a drink, and spend time talking without feeling rushed or bothered by staff looking for you to order something or move on. Big dining room and even outdoor seating during the summer.
Food and service are excellent. Beautiful restaurant and bar. Great tradition Irish fare as well as not so traditional. Erin's is a regular stop.
We go almost weekly. Regret nothing. Food is amazing. Staff is always wonderful. Atmosphere is warm and yet lively. Love this place, glad we tried it.
Great customer service.
Enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Bartenders, Paul,Joe and Rory are very professional and can make any drink.
Recommend to everyone.
Great food and drinks. The staff is amazing as well. One of my favorite happy hour spots.
Awesome place with super authentic decor and killer Guiness Stew
Visited yesterday after receiving a suggestion to try this place. We sat outside and was helped by Katie. She was awesome, and nothing short of spectacular! We tried several dishes which included: WIngs, ribs, sampler platter (cannot recall the exact name), and the reuben sandwich. All were fantastic. We will definitely be back, and sooner than later.
Absolutely perfect on all levels. Outstanding food, service, drinks and the great ambiance. Will be making Erin's a regular stop.
Their stews are wonderful. Good beer selection. Good service. Often you will have to wait to get in.
Had our own "snug" with a private TV, great service, decent food. Very good set-up to watch a bowl game, and best of all, the Badgers beat Miami in the Orange Bowl!!
Looked busy from the outside but there was plenty of room inside. Menu has tons of options.
First time my wife and I have been there. We both had the Friday night fish special it was delicious and reasonably priced. It is a great place for family to enjoy a great meal.
They serve large portions and for fair pricing. nice owner. Kudos.
Any new area I get a chance to be around one of the first things I look for is an Irish pub. Out of the ones I've visited to date, this place has it all and sets the standard for how the others I've seen needs to get at.
The first thing that impressed me is how well it captures the Irish culture. The structural appearance and interior ambiance was very appealing. I could tell right away that it's a first rate place that can accommodate any setting (casual dining, small family nights out, sports enthusiasts, etc).
I was also impressed with the expanded options for various black and tans/half and half drinks. Those are my go to's for a drink order, and I go to an Irish pub since I know they'll provide the best quality mix. The bartender I had the pleasure of talking to, Paul, was very knowledgeable and provided plenty of insights on their black and tan options. He was also kind enough to give me pointers on things to do in the Madison area, and showed me around the dining/bar areas a little bit as we talked. Very personable.
Lastly, the food: I can only speak for the reuben sandwich I got, but this classic Irish dish hit the spot. By far the best one I've had to date. I can definitely say I'll be frequenting this pub more while in the area.
TL;DR I highly encourage anyone looking at this to check this place out. Great atmosphere, awesome food/drinks/options, and friendly inviting staff. You won't be disappointed.
Great Food, Great Atmosphere and very reasonably priced!!
We haven t been to Erin s since Covid and it was great to go back! Anyone who goes here has to get the wings, we always get them naked with Buffalo on the side. I would say best wings in the area. Today I ordered a burger and my husband got the salmon sandwich, first time getting these sandwiches. My burger was a perfect medium as requested and you can tell they make their own patties and the seasoning is on point. The salmon sandwich was delicious and the dill sauce came on the side which is ideal. We love sitting at the bar and by the time we left the outdoor bar was open as well and it s a great outdoor space. As usual, the owner Jerry made an appearance, just a great guy! I definitely recommend Erin s not only for the food and drink but the atmosphere as well.
Open for dine in dining. Patio is open and a great place to eat if your concerned about COVID19.
The place serves big dishes and for convenient rates. friendly owner. Highly recommended.
For appetizers we had corned beef Shalaylee and French Onion soup. Both lacked flavor and I believe were left sitting under a heat lamp as they were warm when they got to us. The smothered fried chicken was good for an entree. Service was lacking only saw waitress when food and Bill were dropped off. Not a good experience.
Decent tap beer selection, good food, nice atmosphere.
Absolutely wonderful! Great traditional Irish food and an amazing atmosphere.
Traditional Irish food and drink. Above average quality and service.
I'm one of those vegans (don't hate I'm not an evangelical vegan). This place has a cool Irish vibe to the atmosphere and some legit looking Irish food options. That said, not a lot I can eat (a few salads, sides, and a walnut burger). Friendly staff and full bar with some funky Guinness drinks.
Nice place. Good bar tender. Easily one of the best Rubens you'll find anywhere. Perfect and delicious.
Just went for an after work cocktail. This is definitely not the place to do that. The bar was so open the obnoxious girl accross the room could be heard no problem. Drinks were pricey (boyfriend got a Pepsi and it was $4!!), Service was lackluster at best. Overall don't think I'd go back for any reason.
Great service and awesome beer selection. Fish and chips were delicious.
Fantastic atmosphere! The food is superb and the service excellent. Also some very tasty drinks. I had food that I haven't eaten in 20 years! This is a place to remember.
Good food, wonderful atmosphere and decor. The waitstaff is attentive and diligent, and I was very pleased with my experience.
Loved the outdoor bar area with TVs for watching football games. A significant number of brews on tap, many local ones. The pretzel bites were very tasty.
No rye bread with corned beef and cabbage and the menu falsely said all entrees come with potato or rice when only some did.
Just go. You won't be disappointed. Amazing environment, service, food and drinks.
Great food, good people, beautiful, authentic atmosphere
Very good meal, prices were reasonable, staff very friendly!
Food sounded great in the menu but disappointed. Nothing was hot and it took too long on a quiet night.
Food was delicious. A bit pricier than it should be, but the ambiance made up for it. If weather permits, the outdoor patio is one of the best to eat at in the area.
The specials each day are worth checking out too (I got the prime rib special and it was fantastic)!
Great meal. Went during the winter and sat close to the fireplace. Parking was a bit tight. I'd highly recommend this place.
Great selection of whisky's and beers. The corned beef egg rolls are good too.
Cozy. Beautiful woodwork. Lots of well decorated rooms. Central bar with heavy wooden decor. Snug booths seating 4-6 comfortably that allow for private conversation. The menu is very large. We tried the pulled pork sandwich, the Reuben and a burger. Plus French onion soup, a caeser salad, a house salad, and pub chips. All were very good. We will definitely be going back!
Typical American style Irish Pub - like something from an amuse t park. It looks authentic until you look closer, nothing about the sounds, smells, atmosphere, or food is remotely familiar to actual Irish pubs.
Layout of the building is a bit perplexing but the food and drinks and Excellent outdoor bar more than make up for it. Great after work spot for the local business park. Try the shepherd's pie.
Great food, great service, good location but awkward parking lot.
Kelly our server had a great personality and is definately a people person. Great fish fry and ciders.
Disappointed in shepards pie...very plain and average
Food quality has gone down. Weak drinks. 17 minutes for waitress to bring bill. Won't go back.
Yesterday was the first time we visited this good restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We had great time with the good service, with the first-rate meal and booze and with the friendly cost. We will no doubt visit there soon.
Paul who is not only a great bartender, but also is one who makes you and your friends feel at home. Great food and atmosphere:))
Had a great meal with friends. The Shepherd's pie was delicious and the other 3 thought their food was very good.
Amazing, fun, cool, clean, frendly, big,, just a few words to start. This place was so much fun and the staff was great too!!! Rachel (our waitress) was just an absolute sweetheart and fun hostess. I wish i had an irish pub like this back home in Maryland. Keep up the good work. I will definitely come back next time im in Wisconsin.
The drink selection is great! They have a pretty good fish fry on Fridays. Love all the Irish dishes. Shepards's pie is fantastic.
Amazing shepherd's pie. My boyfriend had the maihi maihi salad and said it was great too. We went on a sunday and there was bloody Mary's for $4.75. The atmosphere is very nice. Will definitely stop here again.
My family came here for lunch and had a great time. Excellent corned beef, not the prepackaged rubbery kind, but the real deal. Great service and reasonable prices, especially considering how much food we got! We plan on eating here again next time we are in town.
Love the layout and design of this bar. Great beer selections..of course. Try the deep fried hard boiled egg!
We've been there a few times. The food hasn't always been warm when served. Would not go back.
The hostess was a total snot...then they forgot part of the order and when I could not even find someone to fix it I was told, later, by the waitress that .. well it's Sunday...food was ok but service sucked...Sunday or not.
Wish I wouldn't have been so tired! The food was great (try the stew) and the server was wonderful! Loved the atmosphere and can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy a cold one on the patio!
