I am writing this review not as a resident or prospective resident, but as someone who serves this community as a delivery driver. Maris Grove s policy is that packages must be delivered to the front door of each customer and that packages may not be left at the front desk or in the mailroom, even though many customers specifically request mailroom delivery. This policy seems to be unique to Maris Grove. Every other Senior Living community I have delivered to permits packages to be left at the front desk or in the mailroom.

At the best of times, delivering to Maris Grove is a monumental hassle. Drivers are given ~3min per stop which is not nearly enough to navigate the complex labyrinths of the community, especially while carrying 50-100lbs of packages. Furthermore, drivers can only enter at the main clubhouse entrances (as we are not provided key fobs to access individual exterior doors), so some units may be a quarter mile walk from the main entrance, and that s assuming no wrong turns are made. Many of my colleagues refuse to deliver to this community specifically due to this policy. This results in packages being delayed a day and reattempted the following day. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this policy is extremely disrespectful if not downright dangerous.

There was a very cursory health screen when I arrived, which consisted of the guard asking me Do you feel ok? and no temperature check. I also observed many residents wearing masks such that their nose was not covered. Social distancing was poorly enforced.

Do you want a random person who has not been health screened to spend 1.5-2hrs in an enclosed space with you/your loved ones during a pandemic where you/they are the highest-risk demographic?

My parents have lived there for close to ten years now. Through all sorts of experiences the facility has proven to be the idea place for them to have moved to. In good times, is as close to a nice hotel as you can get, with excellent food service, and when health issues have intervened their rehabilitation facilities have been convenient, comprehensive and caring. I am so glad that they made this choice.

I think there is a problem going on in the kitchen Of both the millstone restaurant and blue sky restaurant because in millstone a staff member came out with a attitude and they use plastic silverware at blue sky a employee came out upset and every time they came out to my table they was doing a wonderful job and they always run out of food and most of the time they mess up the orders I visit my parents every week and I'm thinking about putting then in a 5 star retirement home the servers are great but I think they should have everything under control and not wild they should get someone better to control things not the man in charge I know this isn't a big problem but I think my parents should be able to eat without any problems.

I worked for Erickson as a line cook for five years. I left because at the time there wasn't any part time work available.
While there I never experienced a run out of anything except the featured ice cream of the day, if we ran out of say rum raisin there was always a back up. We always had an abundance of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The Sunday Buffet is great and everybody gets more then enough to eat to the point that I've heard comments from the residents about gaining weight.

I worked here for 4 years in high school while my grandparents lived here. It was a great opportunity for a first job, and I even received scholarship for college! Both my grandparents lived here until the passed away but it was a great community for them, and I enjoyed being close to them. I would highly recommend Maris Grove.

Spoke to several residents and family of residents, many of whom have alleged abuse. Clearly I can't confirm this first hand, but where there's smoke there may be fire. I will not be trusting Maris Grove with my family.

We have been trying to arrange for a week now to have my 96 year old mother in law's ears cleaned. She is unable to hear even after we had her hearing aids cleaned. We asked for help from Maris Grove to arrange this and all we get are platitudes. It's a sin when you consider how much people pay to live there. The amenities advertised include an on-site medical center. I guess their professionals don't remove cerumen.

I had to make a delivery to this place & resident was unavailable, at the family s request was instructed to leave at front desk where I encountered the most rude & nasty woman who wouldn t accept delivery . I would think the family paying all that money for their family member to reside in this place would be accommodated! Hopefully the rest of the staff is more pleasant & not rude like this miserable woman !
