Been here for a couple of weeks and love it. Yes... You have to work hard !

EPFL is one of the two federal technical schools (university) in Switzerland. Like the ETH in Zurich, it has three missions: education of students, scientific research and technology transfer. EPFL is located near Lausanne on the shores of the Lake Geneva. It has a campus of more than 10,000 people. The school stimulates collaboration between students, professors, researchers and entrepreneurs. These daily interactions give rise to new and work in science, technology and architecture. EPFL is widely regarded as a world leading university. The QS World University Rankings ranks EPFL 12th in the world across all fields in their 2017/2018 ranking, whilst Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranks EPFL as the world's 11th best school for Engineering and Technology

I did my bachelor and master here. Excellent education. I worked for 2 years in industry and now doing a PhD. The university is awesome, a lot of activities to do. Great location with restaurants and shops. Super place to study and work.

Very good school and if you want to visit, take the time to see the roxel learning center with unique architecture (even if not very useful for students) or the art lab with a small museum quite interesting (and free)

English (French below): Great place to study, you can meet a lot of people there, you can have anything you need, lot of places to eat. I work there (i'm not a student so) but i can say that it's a great place to study French: Great place to study, we can meet a lot of people, we find everything we need, there are plenty of places to eat, it's a real paradise! I am not a student there personally but I work there for a period of 1 year and I can tell you that this is the perfect place to go to study or work so if you go, really take the time to enjoy your period there :)

EPFL is a magnificent Swiss school and structure. Excellent school, full of innovation and life. The campus is admirable and the atmosphere is excellent.

Outstanding facilities and very interesting master studies! Great employer reputation too! England in my experience, and I assume everywhere in the world! The great thing with this scohol is that you can enjoy your studies and obtain a Diploma construed as excellent everywhere in the world :) However, if you consider studying there, you should be prepared to work reeeeeallly hard, especially during bachelor studies! No pain no gain ;)

Great place to visit! The architecture is monumental and the involvement of students even on Saturday morning is impressive. It must be good to study in this institution! We were limited to a breakfast in the cafeteria and visit;)

One of the 2 polytechnic Institute of Switzerland. It excels in education and research. But mainly in the tech transfer between research, education and industry. Ad a student of EPFL, I highly recommend it.

I have both a bachelor and a masters from this uni, and although I spent most of my uni days criticising it, it stays one of the best technical universities in the world. Sure, management focuses too much on building bling-bling show-off tourist attractions (Rolex-learning center, SwissTech) and not enough on the quality of their education, but in general the lecturers are great people and the overall quality of the education is the envy of most other institutions in the world, and rightfully so.

EPFL is growing very quickly, and becoming one of the best engineering universities in the world. Top notch faculty, wonderful labs, and beautiful campus...what more do you want? :)

If you like science and technology, this is the right place! Great Swiss school of engineers with lots of equipment available to learn, do research, discover, and more. Beautiful surroundings, magnificent campus! No 5th star because of the job. Huge tech Campus with many buildings and lots of equipments for learnings, discoveries, Bachelors, Masters, etc. Yeah Science!

Interracial place. Many exhibitions. In research world-class.

An EXCELLENT place to study. Superior teaching & learning facilities. However Lausanne is not a cosy city to live: the French culture is dominant, as international it is very difficult to really enjoy it if you are not French speaking. Those French speaking guys assume that everyone ON THIS PLANET should speak French. Also the student residence service was way under expectation...lots of homeless students

Amazing university! Amazing campus right on the shores of the lake of geneva, outstanding research facilities, and very interesting and diverse master level education! (However the 1 bachelor year is pretty harsh since only 35% of the students succeed!)

A very well thought out, very complete polytechnic: presence of numerous toilets on each floor of each building or almost, store and restaurants and even a metro stop!) Very good atmosphere in general. Those who study there are very fortunate.

5 stars for a polytechnic school that is not only ahead of its time in various scientific research. This institution shows how to achieve performance goals while being a model and promoter for soft mobility.

Excellent engineering school. The best in Europe, that's for sure. Wonderful inventions are made every year and that I appreciate a lot as well as their magnificent exhibitions.

It is a large institution of scientific and technological research. They are early in the paraplegic field where they have proved, thanks to the research carried out, that people who have paralysis or who have had a stroke can find the use of their limbs ...

I have been studying at EPFL for 1 year and I am more than entirely satisfied with it. The setting is very pleasant (view of the Alps, close to the lake ...) and the study conditions are optimal. The teachers are excellent: recognized, committed and interesting. If you have the opportunity to study there, I can only recommend it; in addition the diplomas obtained here are recognized worldwide.

First I go there to dance the Argentine tango organized by the students on Sunday evening .... the atmosphere is nice ... everyone knows each other ... sometimes there are new ones .... we bring dishes prepared by ourselves or bought to share with everyone .... we can do 1 hour of practica .... from 6 to 7 p.m. then the milonga which ends at 10 p.m. so great!

Pubs close at 2am, whereas clubs are open longer. However, an entrance fee of 10-25 CHF is common in the clubs. The typical beer price is around 7 CHF for 0.5l. For some strange reason it is very common to serve small glasses of 0.25l, so be aware of this if you are thirsty. The pubnights arranged by Xchange normally provide a discount. On Fridays and Saturdays it is possible to take the so-called pyjama buses back home. These leave from Lausanne-Flon to all kinds of areas in the surroundings of Lausanne, between 01h15 and 3h45. This costs only additional 2 CHF to a normal ticket.

I enjoyed my two years study here! EPFL is a young and dyanamic institution developing very rapidly in recent years. I am happy that I was part of this process, witnessing its incredible change! Besides, the beautiful lake scene and great multicultural atmosphere makes it a nice place to live and study either!

As a former EPFL sutdent, I only have great memories from my time spent there. In my opinion, this is one of the most dynamic and multicultural school in the world. In addition, it is very well recognised among employers and offer great opportunities to graduates students. Keep up the amazing work guys, big up!
