It has some great programming. It can be confusing trying to figure who/what is presenting each show. The pizza/pasta cafe is generally good but they run out of stuff all the time. Parking sucks.

Beautiful building, great parking.

Went to this venue to see Chris Hadfield. First time at this venue and enjoyed the experience. Staff are friendly and helpful. Sound was quite good. I do not mind the decor but I think some people would find that the atmosphere is from another era to be back in vogue soon.

In the heart of Calgary's downtown, Arts Commons serves as an amazing showcase for Calgary's arts and culture. My experience with Arts Commons relates to two specific organizations: Theatre Calgary and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

In short, both organizations have welcomed in diverse acts of world-level quality. From well-known talent (such as Measha Bruggergosman with the CPO) to world premieres (such as musical adaptation of The Little Prince with Theatre Calgary), both organizations offer a very sound return on cultural investment.

This is an amazing turnaround when you realize that the CPO was nearing bankruptcy in the early 2000's. With both clear leadership and sound management, it's my hope that the CPO (and other art organizations) continue to curate a high level of quality and experience for both current and future events.

There are many different venues for all sorts of shows available at the Arts Commons. It's located at the east side of down town, next to the City Hall train stop, with cheap parking at the impark across the street (9th ave).

I mostly see the CPO, and special concerts at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, as well as small theatre productions at the Engineered Air Theatre.

Go check out a show! They are happening all of the time.

Beautiful building from the outside. Sat and warmed up with some friends there tonight. Obviously in this hostage scenario I can't afford recreational. Spent a number of nights in the parckade below. Nights exactly like tonight, snowy and cold out.

I went to "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" last night. A comedy, as it is promoted. My friend and I were out to see if this play would be appropriate for language arts students. Being Shakespeare buffs, we were very excited to take it in. When we got to intermission, the manager approached us and told us that we were laughing far too loud and that they "had several complaints." I know that I have a distinctive laugh, but that's not something I should muffle at a COMEDY play. The second half, we hardly looked up because we were so humiliated and angry. Don't attend shows at this place. Heaven forbid you get sucked in by the story.
