Within the last year, came to this place Rainier Rehab, left, went to another, but returned and have been here happily ever since. This building is unique with its Acute care patients that have respiratory needs as well as folks that are here long term. It's not perfect, but the staff cares and treats those that live here as family . Nurses and Aides have a lot on their hands with having to meet individual, medical needs of different people. Only special people are able to handle the stress and needs of others and these people can be found at Rainier Rehab in Puyallup

Rainier is a wonderful facility!! As a former CNA who has been to Rainier multiple times to visit my loved one, I find the atmosphere bright and cheery. You can tell that the staff care about the patients and they always have a fun activity going on. I can t believe how many outings they do!!! I know my loved in is in good hands when I leave. I would recommend Rainier Rehab to anyone I meet.

Rainier is a specialized facility that is constantly working hard to meet the needs of its residents. The goal is to ensure that the people here receive quality care and are happy. The staff are talented and care for the ones they take care of. You will see them in the halls, smiling and greeting residents and visitors. Any concerns that have been raised, have been taken care of. I would recommend this facility if you are looking for a place for your family member to receive care.

I worked here as a housekeeper for a while about year ago, maybe longer. The staff when I worked there were a mixed group. Some were very diligent and caring, others would let call boxes go for my entire shift, sometimes even coming into the room just to turn it off and leave again. Often I would go into a room to clean and find that the resident had been in their bed for the entire day for no good reason. Many of the more demanding residents were just outright ignored while the nurses fauned over their favorites. On the good side though, many residents were very happy and very well cared for. I guess it just depends on if your nurse is having s good day or not. My only major complaint is that the building itself is run down and has a strong permanent odor. If I had it my way I would tear our every inch of carpet and tile.

I volunteer here weekly, because I am officially medically retired as a Firefighter Paramedic. The staff here are friendly and compassionate towards the residents and you can tell that they really care about their job. I help out in the Activities Department and we go on all kind of outings like, baseball games, the casino, movie theaters, concerts, and restaurants to just name a few. The facility is clean, smells good, and their food is delicious!! They always feed me lunch when I work and it is always excellent. I would recommend Rainier Rehab to anyone I meet and I am looking toward the our Annual Resident Camping Trip in August!!!

I would give them fewer stars but 1 was as low as possible. My wife was admitted for wound care and physical therapy and ended up in the ICU with septic shock and several organs failing. All stemming from the lack of engaged nursing. The assists and support staff seemed to be more involved with the patients than the nurses. I questioned this a few times but I felt dismissed as just another demanding hysterical relative who didn't know what he was talking about. If you send a loved one there, keep a close eye on the nursing staff. They seem to operate with very minimal physician involvement or oversight. They appear to be essentially a warehousing facility.

Shoutout to My. She s a new housekeeper and she s a DAMN good one ! Although I was visiting a relative and our parents were in the room and it was a little crowded she did her best to work around us and to inform her that she ll be mopping and the things she d be wiping down so we could move accordingly . She was by far the nicest person ever and she has a great personality and sense of humor All other staff was nice as well .

After seeing a spilled urinal sit for 24 hours, only to be picked up and the urine still not cleaned, dried to the floor, as the aides walk through it repeatedly. One nurse I've met is above and beyond what is expected, and is being punished for working overtime when her shift relief didn't show up. This place is a joke. No onsite physician. Calls are placed on hold for over 45 minutes, only to be picked up and hung up. I'd recommend state to come inspect, but the facilitators will gladly pay the fines and use the residents as excuses as to why care isn't adequately provided. Could ANYONE please tell me what is an acceptable amount of DAYS urine should be left on the floor of their family members room?

A staff of extremely skilled liars whose primary goal is not care, but to extort money out of the elderly. I've reported them to Medicare and I'm contacting the state because the abuse of power at this place is unbelievable. They feel they have no accountability so they treat you like you're stupid and talk in really kind voices but basically pull the rug out from under you and leave you with no other alternative then to pay them out of pocket because they terminate your Medicare coverage ILLEGALLY and without a real doctor's orders. I've spoken with a lawyer who has confirmed that what they are doing is illegal, but that it happens a lot with nursing facilities like this. However, when I brought up the legal points they either refuse to address it, or tell you that the laws are wrong. You go home, google search it fifty times, double check with your lawyer and you're still right and they're still wrong. They wanted to kick my family member out without any discharge planning whatsoever, without planning for any special equipment. It's all to take advantage of your lack of knowledge about these procedures. Then they smile at you and pretend to care, but then you remember "hey, they were just about to throw an elderly person out on the street with nothing." They smile some more, even tell you that in their eyes your family member is not fit for a lower level of care, but then you remember that their job is to assess that and report it to Medicare but instead they are telling Medicare the opposite. Whoa, caught in a blatant lie that could kill someone. That's pretty low. The funny thing is they will try to tell you that they know your family member's baseline better than you, and the joke is on them if you're someone who knows the person in question very well. Watch them make excuses and deny accountability by claiming your family member isn't lucid enough to know what's going on when you know their quirks and they are lucid enough. It's obnoxious and kind of hilarious how they team up to gang up on you and throw lies at you every which way, I wasn't born yesterday, if it smells like horse excrement it probably is. But they confuse you momentarily and that makes it difficult to fight back. Every excuse is good to them if it nets them a profit. Honestly all this BS about denying coverage is a ruse to force you to pay them out of pocket since Medicare compensates them less. This place is honestly the lowest of the low, and in terms of care they can't be bothered to lift a finger. You call for assistance and wait over an hour and no one shows up. Probably also a ruse to force people to become independent so they can again deny your coverage. The night meds are always late, there are areas that reek in ways that don't seem sanitary, and you can't trust anyone to look out for your loved one's best interest. Cash rules everything for them. It's hardly worth the cost considering you get about an hour of nursing attention total each day if that, with the nurse to patient ratio. Don't be fooled, look at their poor Medicare ratings, and pay attention to the bad reviews. It's not worth going through what my family has gone through with them.

In terms of keeping your family alive, this place does it. There are gems of staff members but don't get attached because they don't stay. If you think you'll be able to talk with your family member, don't even think about it. I live out of state, and it takes about 5-10 phone calls before I can finally get to speak with my father on a regular basis. Absolutely ridiculous! Matter of fact, it's Christmas and I've called many times already today to speak with my father and merely wish him a Merry Christmas, orient him that it is in fact Christmas and no luck. Between no answers to finally getting their general front desk with no answer at the nursing station, it's an absolute joke. Doubt this review brings about any change from management, however, if it can provide insight to a family considering this place over another, do consider my experience thus far.

I would not recommend this place. You will get more respect talking to a debt collector then this place. During the process of applying for medicaid the business manager threaten that medications and treatment would be withheld. She also would call leave a message and expect a call back within an hour, if she didn't hear back she would continue to call to the point that normal people would call it harassment including the medicaid social worker. There was times that they expected us to take off work for a meeting only to find out it would just be a status update causing us to take entire days off. They will not work around your schedule and tell you that it is your choice to go to work and go on a planned vacation. While visiting the patient it became very uncomfortable being hounded the moment you would come in for payment while applying for medicaid causing more suffering for the family and patient. The nurses do seem nice and I have no complaints about them. It's all the front end of the business, there is no customer service and it's just about the money.Beware!

The facility is decent. Fairly clean, fairly maintained. Very average. Just grading the actual grounds I'd say it is okay. The hallways smell awful, and could really use new carpeting in the front of the building. The staff seems nice, but honestly they're all a bunch of snakes. Instead of addressing real issues about patient safety and care they just talk you into circles and divert your attention or blatantly try to lie their way out of it. An employee told me that they value their shareholders above all else and that profit, not care is the name of the game at this facility,. At first we thought this place was wonderful, but you quickly learn the truth when a couple of off days for the staff turns into full time neglect and you can't get any honest or straightforward answers out of anyone. They think they're above the law. They were recently closed down for an issue and reopened, should have seen that as a sign of what this place really is. You can do better, look into non-profits and stay away from the Ensign Group properties.

This is a review based on how far they have come. My father George had a severe brain injury 3 years ago and needed skilled nursing. At first I was very disappointed in their care. After staff changes and getting to know my mother ( who's there everyday) they now treat her and my father like a member of the staff and as family. Family members must be engaged with the staff all the time to to get better care. Unfortunately that is the nature of the beast. The staff is very hard working and my mother can be VERY DEMANDING (which at first they were resentful but have come to understand her and accepted it). When my mother got ill with sepsis a couple of weeks ago the staff always asked how she was and that they missed her. They even bring her food when she forgets to eat and shows real concern. The care they gave my father in her absence was very good. He was clean and positioned the way she would have wanted. His roommate informed me that they were diligent in taking care of his needs and being attentive to what my mother would have wanted. For those who have had bad experiences with the staff I would urge you to talk to them and make the staff understand. I went through the same thing and was very angry at them but they have restored my faith. Thank you Rainier for the care you give my father and the care you have shown my mother.

My family member is currently living here and unable to care for himself. The first week he was here he got a bedsore and due to it not being cared for, the wound has now spread to being a bone infection. We are taking him into plastic surgery for recovery from this but this should never have happened if he was receiving the care he should have been receiving. I have tried multiple times to get in touch with various social workers but no one will ever return my calls. The odor the facility gives off is horrendous. Unfortunately, our insurance is not accepted at any other places so my family member has to stay put here...

Our family is Thrilled that we chose Rainier Rehabilitation to place our Mother after spending months in a hospital intensive care unit. After arriving at Rainier and still facing a major surgery, she was treated with extraordinary skill, professionalism and kindness before and after the surgery. The Entire staff at Rainier are wonderful from janitorial staff to the Director, nurses and CNAs, doctors, dining room staff, reception, clerks, rehabilitation and maintenance staff. Everyone is kind, helpful, caring and paying attention to their residents and facility from top to bottom. If anyone asks me where they should place their parent, guardian, family member or loved one, I would not hesitate to immediately recommend Rainier Rehabilitation. I slept well every night our Mom was there. Thankfully she became very strong because of her wonderful care there and was able to leave to an adult home. Thank You Rainier Rehabilitation!

I can t Even begin to express how grateful I am for this place! My sister was in a horrible nursing home prior to RR and made absolutely no progress and actually got worse! She was finally transferred to RR and went from vegetative state to trying to talk and move! They treat her like a human being. They get every resident out of the bed daily and put them in clothes! The staff is very attentive and even hang out in the rooms and talk with the residence. They really care here. The administrative staff is proactive in meeting with the family for updates and care conferences. They ANSWER THE PHONE! They ask us extensive questions to find the likes and dislikes of our loved ones. There is never an empty hall and when residents alarm , multiple people rush to the rooms whether it s their section or not! We are forever grateful for RR! You guys change lives and allow us family members peace of mind knowing our loved ones are in good hands!

My dad was in a different place that was a 5 star center. And he was molested there and left to die, i removed him from that place and took him to Rainer rehabilitation. After just a week he was alert, awake, smiling again, talking, living. I felt safe leaving him there. The sraff was great with him and informed me with everything even small milestones.. I thank these people for giving me my daddy back.

Having to move a loved one into a long-term healthcare facility is always hard but the staff at Rainier Rehabilitation have made the process less daunting. I know the care my mother is receiving is top-notch and she is getting the therapy and activities that I was not able to give her while she was living in our home. It is peace-of-mind knowing that all of her needs are being met and with such nice and caring people taking care of her. Thank you Rainier Rehab!

Rainier has been such a positive experience for our Mom. The staff is compassionate, respectful and attentive. We have had experience with a couple different rehab facilities in close proximity and although this facility is older and maybe not as pretty the energy and care makes up for it. We are grateful

My husband came to this facility in January of 2018. It was so hard for me to let him leave home, so, as anybody could imagine, I had a tough time staying home without him, or whenever I visited him. Even through those pains, it has been flying, and here I am, I am revived every time by Raininer Rehab s staff. All the staff are astonishingly helpful, informative, caring, warm, willing, and dedicated.

I would love to thank every staff member who is caring for my husband. There is no word to express my appreciation, I deeply appreciate all of you. I remember some of their names, and I d like to thank them.

Immense appreciation to the administrator Brett, the admissions officer Rebecca, the social worker Rebeckah and Darina, the nurse manager Amy, NP Thu, Dr. Omar, the nurse Jese, Violet, Happy, and all the nurses who I don't by name, the CNA Rachel, Clala, Mayte, Bacilia, and all the CNA staff who I don t by name, the activity staff Karen and Jan, and all the nurses who I don't by name, the business office manager Daylene, the medical records office manager Brenda and the officer Susan, LPN Hannan, all of PT staff, all of the laundry Dept. staff, all of the room cleaning staff, the nutrition Dept. manager Rose and all of the kitchen staff, the technician James, the receptionist Sandy & Amanda, etcetera.

I am so grateful that I made my decision and found this place for my husband.

Thank you so much to all of the staff of Raininer Rehab!

I cant say enough about this place. The staff are cheery and amazing at what they do. The facility is kept impeccably clean. The therapy department is second to none with providing the rehab for people to improve and get home. Lastly, I have never seen better nurses. From top to bottom, the nursing care given at Rainier Rehab is second to none.

This place is great. The management, nursing team, and cooks have really shown how much they care for the patients. They even had a tree lighting ceremony last week for the holidays. The nurses care about the patients and go out of their way to make each person comfortable. I highly suggest checking this place out.
