Log ride wasn't open today. One of the best not working. Made the best of it
Took our 2 1/2 year old here for the first time and she lost her mind. There are so many wonderful little touches throughout the park that makes it truly enchanting. I love how some areas don t even have signs calling attention to attractions, most notably the tunnels in western town that spit you out into a teepee across the street. I remember coming here when I was a kid and being amazed. Each time I come back I half expect it to have descended into disrepair but it seems like it just keeps getting more colorful, moss covered, and magical. I really appreciate how even little ones can participate and ride rides. The staff was friendly and helpful and everything was sparkling clean. I also liked that we could bring in our own outside food. It meant we could spend more on rides!!!
This place is great fun for the whole family there is something for everyone to enjoy and do
Such a fun place...even for adults and it's so affordable.
Enchanted Forest is a family destination every year. My mom used to take my family in the 80s and we take ours now. We absolutely love the atmosphere and family friendly attractions.
Was wonderful for the kids, and really very nice for us adults that grew up on faerie tales
This place is better than I was expecting, I really appreciate it having to walk through a path at first which took us through a cut out in the woods. was a few things for every age group. It seemed a little more expensive than I would have thought it would be, however parking was easy and it was not overcrowded. Food cost wasn't too bad either, would have been a five star of the price to come in would not have been so over done
After traveling past this place a couple times we finally caught it open (winter hours are only Sat, Sun.) We were very impressed how this seemingly small fairy tale spot kept going and going. It kept us and our toddler busy for a couple hours looking around. Couldn t do a lot of the rides with our little guy but will definitely return when he gets bigger. Check it out!
What a great joy to discover this beautiful artistic creation! What a beautiful, talented, dedicated mind put this place together!
Just LOVED it....
The enchanted forest is situated on a hill just South of Salem. Bring sturdy shoes since there are some steep inclines and a few areas with brick paver walkways instead of blacktop. The park reminds me of a small scale Disneyland/Oaks Park with a twist of Napoleon Dynamite which keeps things interesting enough to make it worth the trip. I personally believe the park caters best to families with kids between 5 and 12. Admission is $12.95 for teens and adults, $11.50 for seniors and kids 2-12 years old, children under 2 are free. There are some rides in addition to the theme park which range between $2 to $4. My daughter liked the "Ice Mountain Roller Coaster" which is great for a 10 year old (not scary at all). Once you have paid for admission you can also purchase unlimited ride bracelets for $27.95 (all ages, all rides) - or the kiddy rides unlimited bracelet is $17.95 which is good for bumper boats, kiddy train, kiddy ferris wheel, carousel and frog hopper. My kids took up 1/2 the day checking out all of the things to see and playing in skull rock. They went to the shooting gallery, remote controlled boats (Western Town section), and went on a couple rides which we purchased tickets near the 2 major rides (Ice Mountain and Big Timber Log Ride). They were tuckered out by afternoon and I was able to spend only ~$10 each kid instead of the unlimited ride bracelets. Expect to spend at least a 1/2 day, or if you go on a few (or all) rides you can expect to spend the better part of a full day at the park.
An absolutely wonderful experience. We took our 20 month old and we all had a ball. I would say that aside from Disney, the Enchanted Forest has the nicest, friendliest people working there. I also thought it was a great value; great family fun at an affordable price. The fairytale walk is fantastic. We saw the water show which was miraculously able to hold our daughters attention for the full 8 minutes! We also had her pan for gold, ride the train and the carousel.
I would highly recommend watching the video on the Enchanted Forest by Travel Salem on YouTube before going, it will give you a whole new level of appreciation.
They get 5 stars mostly because there is not a lot of places like this anywhere in this area. It was nicer than I remembered from years and years ago. If you are in a wheelchair or not in decent shape the hills may be hard for you. The cute story book theme is felt throughout the park. I was going to buy my grandson a shirt but I will say I wasn't highly impressed with them. They did have his name on a cool name plate. Those were really nice. Great rides for young kids.
Lots of fun for the grand kids (ages 4 - 12). Clean, friendly, and kind.
we loved this cute little enchanted park. Very well maintained. cute rides for most age kids. My daughter and her cousins had a blast here. would definitely go back again. there were a lot of people but it didn't feel crowded. The food was pretty good. Fun day.
Love this place! Very nostalgic since I went here when I was a kid and now I get to share it with my kid.
Nice staff, great lil shows & great rides! A gem of a surprise in the woods!
Expensive, however the smile on my kids face was worth every penny
Great place for kids and adults too. Very unique place to explore
This place was like a smaller version of Disneyland. Great for kids, cheap price and friendly associates. Definitely recommend for a fun day for your kids to enjoy.
Love the place but covid changed it alot its not the same
Seen better days. And they charge for admissions and per ride.
Very skeptical going in, but was very amazed as we walked through the facility. Prices on gifts and food were Beyond extraordinary. We expected it to be a lot more and it wasn't. Facility was really clean and well organized. Definitely a must visit! 45 bucks for a family of 4 all day. Quest you can bring in your own food and nice places to sit and eat it.
Lovely place, great service, reasonable prices. Definitely an enchanting theme park for the kids.
This has been a favorite place to visit since I was a kid. Still a fun family destination!
Loved it. It's so much fun for both kids and adults
Fun to walk the hills and see all the story book tales come to life. Had a great time on the Log Ride, even getting very wet.
Awsome place to hangout with my kid . Helps teachings the rymeing
A wonderful land of fantasy for little imaginations. Your young kids will enjoy the magic of the Enchanted Forest. The story of how the park was created is fantastic as well. If you have small kids, find some time to stop in to create memories and wonder.
What a cute theme park! I'd say it's ideal for ages 2-10. Lots of fun rides, a theatre show, panning for treasure, fairy tale lane with adorable architecture set in the woods, and ice cream! Definitely a fun way to spend a day.
I finally made it to the enchanted forest for the first time... And during all of this I'm sure it was a weird experience compared to normal but I thought they handled everything very well.
First off this park is CLEAN wow. Being a coaster enthusiast, ive been to some run down dirty parks and I feel like this place has a incorrect reputation of being one of these parks, from people who have never been their and just think it looks "weird" And write it off.
Almost better than the cleanliness was the employees attitudes, extremely nice and polite. Many asked us if we needed help locating anything which is a nice small park touch you'll never get at the big names. And it wasn't a acting "Disney" like performance of being kind to guest, these employees really seemed to like those Jobs and seemed happy to be their, that makes the whole experie muchore enjoyable than it already is.
I went in going only to add some coasters to my list in a very hard year to get to parks so far, the actual roller coaster is alot of fun and is honestly smooth, fast and a great lenght for being a park produced coaster, it's basically the only coaster in the world to have the over the head bubble, read online of the history of why they added that, very cool.
The log ride is also considered a roller coaster because it comes off the water and onto a teach for a small drip and the large drop is out of the water as well, again real smooth and fun,
Basically.... GREAT JOB keep it up, we will be back
The neatest place on earth! Love the amazing tall trees that this little theme park is nestled in. So beautiful and so much fun! Wear good walking shoes
Fun and quirky. Our daughter loved it. We did not need to purchase a wristband, just tickets for a few rides.
Very fun. Me and boyfriend went for my birthday and had a great time! It's good for those who haven't gone on a roller coaster before (like I hadn't) but want to try one.
Definitely a fun visit but the cost is a bit excessive for admission and ride bracelets.
Be sure to go early enough in the day to experience all you hope to, they close at 5pm and lines for rides is usually a half hour wait
What a wonderfully enhanced place. It used to be run down and dirty. New owners have cleaned it up and the staff is exceptionally friendly, as well as well staffed areas. Had a great time with my 3 year old granddaughter.
Fabulous fun! Sorry my kids are grown, This Momma was in heaven! Only downer was my service animal wasn t allowed on the log ride. And the large family with the selfie stick shooting a coffee table book worth of pics just as we thought they played thru, they were back! Argh, lol!
Expensive for the amount of attractions. The plus is the beautiful wooded surroundings.
Staff we so kind and helpful this place was such a dream and i would recommend to family with kids of any age!
I went here as a kid, and now I take my kids. Family fun that all generations can enjoy
A fun (hillside) walk through a fairy tale "enchanted" forest for children (and for young at heart). There are fun rides and attractions. Due to COVID you must make reservation as occupancy is limited - also some attractions are closed. STILL - It is worth the trip and it was not crowded - spent 3 plus hours with grandchild (she loved it).
I grew up coming here on vacations every summer. It was our family's favorite place to visit. After living in Oregon as an adult for 5 years, I decided to return a week before moving away. I'm so glad that I did. Very little has changed about the park - it has been well maintained and still holds every bit of magic and wonder that it had when I was a child. I love this park and I'm all glad that they maintained it so well. I will definitely be returning as many times as I can.
Amazing layout for such a small place, great storytime displays and walk through and slides, more rides and games and exhibits, can spend half a day or just a few hours, easy and laid back, fun for the family...
Super fun! Wish covid wasn t in the way of things that were open but the rides were super fun!
Kids had an awesome time, and a must recommend for anyone needing to their kids occupied for a day.
We love this place! Our kids are grown, so we hadn't been in a while, but decided to go for one more trip after seeing it on Ghost Adventures... I didn't see anything spooky, but it was still a fun trip!
Cute and magical constructed areas, but the Challenge of Mondor is a laughably bad attraction with finicky sensors and no way to tell where you're aiming the laser. Rest of the park is endearing and scenic.
My daughter loves it here. It is dated, but that is what makes it so cool. Great way to spend your day.
I've been coming here since I was a kid please don't be worried after you watch the ghost adventure episode I've been coming here forever they made it look all creepy and added a bunch of silly takes they had on things I can honestly say no one in my family was ever scared here or felt cold chills or anything paranormal at all some people go looking for that kind of thing I know its out there but get real this place is awesome not at all scary unless your just weird and scared of fairy tails honestly can't say anything but a few bugs ever bothered me here and now I get to share it with my boys it's a great place for the whole family the staff is helpful the food is not over priced the coolest part though is its family owned and Roger toft and his family built the whole place a few new rides have been added since I was a kid check out the history of the park on there website and don't miss the free water show while you eat .....it's a great family adventure so excited to go back this summer
I remembered this place from my childhood and just took my child there for the first time. He had a great time.... Just wish there were more food options is the only downfall
Enjoyment for kids between 3-10. For adults, a lot of hills to climb
A bit of a splurge but some good ol family fun. Only 4 stars as its hard with a 2 yr old regarding height requirements including the young rides so please check them
Firstly time visitors and my son turned 4 so we celebrated at enchanted forest. As a family of 4 everyone had a great time!! They made my son a special birthday button to wear around and now he has a keep sake from his special visit. I highly recommend going for a lot fun. My kids loved the rides. We closed the place down for the day and we will definitely be returning.
Thank you!
We absolutely loved this place it was fun for the whole family
This place was perfect for my 4year old she had a blast
Been going since I was a little kid. Its slot different now but I feel its better.
It was so much fun! But can you guys please add more roller coasters and stuff for teens and preteens?
Fun place for young children. Various actvities. Exhibits to look at, some rides, food.
The atmosphere was perfect. However, some of puppets were old, faded which made them look scary. A little pricey for something that could have cleaner story book characters and buildings.
Fun local theme park. Clean and well kept. Rides are a ton of fun and very well maintained. Employees are courteous and helpful. A really great place to spend a day with the family!
Love it. They buy back unused tickets on your way out. It's a very awesome experience for young children. My child had a great time both times we went.
This is an amazing place for a family adventure! Kids of all ages will love it and my 1 and 3 year olds could hardly be gotten out of there!
Great place for youngster. Age 5 - 10, others would also enjoy.
We skipped the rides, didn't seem worth it ($27?). Food was good and reasonably priced.
I would recommend this place.
A bit tough for those with mobility issues. Lots of up and down
The perfect park for littles. So many hills, they're guaranteed to take an amazing nap!
Great place for the kiddos! Brought my daughters 8,6, &4 and they could go on all the rides! 36" and up is ideal here. Perfect for little kids
I really think this place is creapy, cool, magical and awesome! I loved this place and plan on going at least once a year. We got the unlimited ride wrist band and took full advantage of it. My favorite ride was the ice mountain ride and I rode it several times. My favorite attraction were the slides. I loved their shoe slide. Being at the Enchanted Forest brings out your inner child. I can't wait for my next visit.
Best kids and grown ups park I have ever been so far, (and I have been in many, in many countries). Don't be scared with the rides and bracelets, we came with no need of the rides or bracelets and enjoy every piece of the park. Please watch the video of the park creation and dont miss the theater show. Entrance fee is really cheap and we enjoyed more than the mouse park. Really a great park! I'm just amaze with what a dream can bring to you!
Every Oregonian should visit once. It is like a time capsule from a few decades ago. It is definitely geared towards children, with a few tunnels that are not easily used by adults and also rides just for kids, but there are also a few adults can go on.
The main draw is the charm of the surrounding forest (most of the park is well shaded by the tall, old growth!) and numerous interactive displays for kids. I really loved the snow white part, and also the entire old European village was quite cute. I enjoyed the Water show which is very frequent, and the Black Bird Pie animatronic show was cute and relatively amusing. I did miss the theater show, so I can't speak for it.
The down side is, a handful of games and interactive parts were shut down or out of order. So there were a few games we couldn't play, and the beat marble contraption also didn't work. This was my first time visiting so I don't know what they're like when they are working.
I was surprised at how reasonably priced everything was at the gift shop. The ride bracelets I did not buy because there aren't enough adult activities for tickets to amount to the price of the bracelet. Perhaps for kids, who might want to ride everything more than once, it would be worth it.
I would say the best parts are:
*You can bring in outside food and drink. This is a blessing because the parks offerings are very limited for food. What they do have is fair priced. There is a coffee stand for anyone who really needs a cup.
*The park is mostly shaded with many benches to sit for those who may need to rest often or who are sensitive to the sun.
*The myriad of displays and walk in scenery, plus kid specific tunnels and other things, make for a really fun time for children.
*There is a designated smoking area, fairly centrally located, for those who smoke.
*Bathrooms are spaced evenly and often throughout the park.
*Pretty clean for a park full of kids and tired parents!
The downsides:
*Some things were broken down and didn't seem to be getting repaired that day.
*There aren't as many rides or games as I expected from such a park.
*The food and drink options are pretty slim.
*One of the souvenir shops was understocked. Some of the shelves were bare and others in disarray. There aren't terribly many "thematic" souvenirs, and limited ones with Enchanted Forest on them. Most were generic toys or trinkets you could get anywhere. This is nitpicking though; I enjoy items that are unique to specific trips.
All in all, I did really enjoy the park. I wouldn't go often, perhaps every several years to see what has been added or changed, or maybe with my young nephew. I don't have children, so my draw to the park was purely because as an Oregonian, I'd never been, and enjoy fantasy and fairy tale themed places and things. I did love seeing how detailed the park is and the older animatronics, and I can appreciate the trees and green growth that the park was built in and around. It is a unique place and I'd say if you haven't been, definitely consider going at least once.
We had a wonderful time, but we have been for 30 years! This is an excellent family owned business! General admission is reasonable, food and snacks are priced well as are their souvenirs. Lots to do; a broad variety of activities. Ride prices and availability of kiddie rides beats any parking lot carnival. I never felt like I was being gouged on anything! It's also an excellent opportunity to reconnect with nursery rhymes and fairie tales long since abandoned.
I am an Oregon native and I love the Enchanted Forest. I am 16 now and have been going here as long as I can remember. I love the whimsical nature of the park, all the places to walk through and see the handmade sculptures and figures in their little nooks. The Ice Mountain Bobsleds have character beyond any ride at Disneyland or Six Flags. Flying within inches of trees is the best part, every time I ride it I feel like we are going to hit something, but we never do. I have very fond memories of running through the caves, and how they twist and turn, and how you can go under the walkway and pop up in the Teepee on the other side.
I am happy that the Enchanted Forest has opened up to 200 people per day for now, and have kept most of the things open, with many sanitation stations. Even at 16, during this pandemic I have still been able to enjoy the park just like I always have.
For me the nostalgia is astounding.
This is Roger Tofte's legacy. I REALLY hope it doesn't get shut down for good.
