I went snowboarding for the first time ever after Eldora received an 8-inch dump of fresh powder; the first timer's package (includes rental, group lesson, lower pass) is a great deal, and I was boarding greens by the end of the day. Went again yesterday for pretty much the whole day, and while hard-pack powder took some getting used to, I am less sore than my first time. Great, chill place to learn. Never done any snow sports prior. Now to get a season pass for next year and make it to the blues.

Unlike the negative reviews about rude staff members, my family was greeted by smiling faces and people who were more than willing to help.
Mallory, one of the staff, went "above and beyond" to help us find the right fitting equipment. She was very patient, running back and to with equipment to get us the proper sizes.
She deserves a raise.
Thanks, Mallory!

Nice little hill to slide around on. All of the lifts move at a snails pace except for the high speed 6-pack. This is a perfect place to spend a half day of skiing or even a place to learn for slightly cheaper than larger resorts.
Show up early or wait until noon; if you are running late plan on parking in the back 40.
I have heard rumors that there can be amazing powder days here but they have been elusive for the last 2 years for me.

It may be smaller, icier, and windier than it's bigger Colorado ski resort cousins, but I love this place. It's has a small town feel, it's easy to get to, it's affordable, and it has enough terrain to entertain me for a day. And when there is an upslope snowstorm, this place is heaven.

Horrible place if you've never been skiing. They check you out and hand you this card and send you over to rentals, and then after you're done they tell you to "Have fun!" We told them we were new and they didn't give us any direction. We tried to go to the lessons and then they told us we needed a ticket. So we go back to the front desk and they send us to another desk. Then the people at that desk were just utterly confused by such a simple statement. We wanted lessons, and the lady and man kept going back and forth about if we had a reservation and if we wanted lessons. She asked us 3 times if we needed lessons. YES, THAT IS WHY WE ARE HERE. After a few minutes of frustration we just walk away and say nevermind, and the guy was like "don't skip lessons you're gonna break a wrist!" Well MAYBE if you understood the first 3 times we said it, we would be getting them. And to top it all off, there aren't really signs for stuff, so we had no idea where to go, or how to get to the slopes. Overall, just an extremely frustrating experience, was expecting this to be the best part of our vacation.

The weather makes for icy, choppy snow. The staff are unfriendly. The facilities are low quality and not very well maintained. The soap in the bathroom smelled nice, and the lift people were friendly thank god. They had some good runs and we were happy to get on our boards while we were in the area. I'd say if you're going here- pack a lunch and eat it in your car or something... stay away from the crowded dirty mess hall style "lodge" and overpriced swill from rude bartenders.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Eldora! Their classes for kids are AWESOME. Each season we put our child in ski school they have a super fun and pumped up teacher who she adores. Then there is the added benefit of her abilities excellerating. We have an awesome ski kid now! The terrain has been expanded to have lots of new runs and lifts. That means more fun for parents while the kiddo is in class. There are two restaurants now and both have standard mountain food. Convienence to Boulder and that this mountain is on our Rocky Mountain Super Pass means we will be coming here for years to come.

Super fun local mountain with great employees, good food, and fun runs. Alpenglow lift takes about 4 minutesto the top, so if you just ride the front side. You can easily get in 6-7 runs in an hour. They made some Berri good changes to the resort since last season and I hear they have much more planned over the next few years. Good thing coming from a great team!

Shame on you Eldora! I bought multiple 2015 season passes early, prior to the announcement of being added to the RMSP+, which I have had for years. Eldora will not give refunds, allow transfers, or give on mountain credit for people in this situation. Great for their bottom line, terrible for their image!

It's smaller than the other resorts around the front range, but it's cozy and the skiing is still great! 2018 is starting off strong and they have good coverage on a couple runs that are open. No white stripe of death this fall.

$20 parking mid season money grab. If you re not making money with your current strategy, change the strategy legitimately. Imposing a mandatory $20 fee to ride your mountain makes it even more unattractive. Lots of options here in CO with free parking and bettter terrain. Really mind boggling, moronic move. Have to wonder what the powers that be over there are thinking. A lot of their parking is a bit of a hike from the lifts too. Giving you $20 for the honor of walking all the way from your furthest lot when I already gave you money to ride your mountain when I bought my pass? Yeah no thanks, I ll spend my money elsewhere.

Best place to ski in Colorado for out of towners that ski only a couple times a year. Great schools for kids, inexpensive ski school packages and kids really liked Woodward school in 2016. Will be back in December.

Great local place to hit the slopes. You can avoid the traffic on I-70 to the larger ski venues, but still get some great runs. No traffic to/from Boulder is about 45 minutes. Some of the runs are a bit short but, with the new six-person chair lift up and running, you can get back up into the mountains pretty quickly!

Rarely crowded on the slopes. The limited parking keeps down the numbers. Great local mountain for a half day ski escape. And Eldora provides several free bus options to help with weekend traffic problems.

First ski trip, and loved it. All staff was very laid back, but very informative and helpful. Take lessons for your first time. $338 for 2 adults, included rental and lift tickets, we stayed from 9am-4pm. Take a cooler to save a bunch of money on food and drinks. HYDRATE THE DAY BEFORE AND WHILE SKIING

2020 Season cancelled due to COVIT 19, not the fault of Eldora, however, they are not honoring the season pass for the following year. They only provide a 20% discount. But with the risk being taken by the customer, if that season is cancelled after December 1st, the new season pass is lost.

Eldora is old-school Colorado. So close. Great on a powder day and corona is a perfect groomer for high speed turns. Ski a few runs and hit the bar that opens at 11...you might even see a local who wears a full body coyote pelt over his ski gear! I-70 is cooked. Join our crew...we make it down in time for a late lunch, then a nap, then a night out in Boulder. Every Saturday, it's on.

It's an "okay" ski area. Not really a "resort". Ownership doesn't put a lot of money into the place. Facilities are old, the bathrooms remind me of the Port Authority bus station. The staff can be grouchy. Be prepared to spend The majority of your day on lifts. The runs can be super short (2-5 min tops) and icy. The wind is terrible, rarely a day when it is not an issue. Most times it's worth the extra hour drive to a real resort like Keystone, Winter Park, or Copper which leads to the main thing going for it which is the proximity to Boulder. This is why I'm giving 3 stars. On a day when I'm tired but want to get 5 or 6 quick runs in and still be able to have an afternoon running errands back in town it's great for that. Because it's close, it's often mobbed on weekends. The parking lot is a mess- it's a mud pit filled with too many Subarus. I have a RMSP+ but if I didn't I probably wouldn't ski here as their tickets and pass prices don't equal the quality of the place.

Excellent Nordic center with 40km of trails and plenty of hills! Beautiful and local retreat from the bustling front range. Rather windy but North facing Alpine slopes. Not a destination resort, but I like it that way.

Used to be great but new management caters heavily to Beards Bros and Brews (read: lots of testosterone on the mountain) snowboarders pop out blindly from every tree nook and cranny. Parking impossible even on weekdays. Not the workday getaway it used to be. Crowded, frenetic feel. Tons of snow this weekend and the eldora twitter feed is literally telling people NOT to come due to parking and traffic woes. Cue the Eldora folks telling you to take the bus... that d be nice if you can get a seat.

First and last time coming to this enormous letdown. Drove all the way from Denver, get to a few miles away, only to find out that there is nowhere to park. Called customer service to find an alternative means of getting there (ie. public transportation) and they tell me I have to pay for RTD. Due to the fact that there is a horde of people in the same situation, the bus is full. What an unbelievable waste of time and gas. I d rather brave the I-70 traffic and still get some turns in than simply be turned away. Never again. STAY AWAY!

Amazing location within 20 min of Boulder. Day lift tickets overpriced, but 4 day pass is better. Blue squares and single black diamonds at this location are interchangeable. Beginners who think they are better than they really are: you have been warned. Weekends, especially Sunday, are crazy and out of control filled with snowboarders who bomb the routes and slalom around 3 year olds just learning without ski poles. If you want great parking arrive by 8:30 a.m. and ignore the 20-somethings that are trying to direct traffic.

It's a great place to go to avoid the I-70 traffic. The main lift is 6 wide, with a belt feeder to get you to the seat while the lifts off to the right feeding the more advanced runs are 4 wide, standard embarking. The more advanced runs seem to be very open with not many people on the slopes.

If renting, I'd suggest renting down the mountain at an independent place for the best deals, although you won't break the bank renting at the resort.

The resort isn't overrun with tourists, but it can still get quite crowded. It still offers great skiing, but doesn't have the variety of terrain offered by some of the larger resorts. My only complaint is that the prices skyrocketed in the last few years, but so have the prices at the larger Colorado resorts.

Five star spot for park rats, they have a ton of park features and terrain parks scattered around the mountain...but as far as bringing someone who is a beginner snowboarder, 2 stars. The only greens they have are intermingled with the freestyle parks so basically trying to dodge guys coming off jumps while figuring out how to learn all at the same time. Yikes. Yes they have a bunny hill but what resort doesn't these days? Their major lifts serve mostly black and double black with a few blues. Overall not a beginner mountain by any means. Definitely not recommend bringing someone who is new but it's not a bad place for an experienced rider.

Took my 4y/o for her first time skiing. Really no facilities near the bunny slope. We spent most of the day either waiting for the shuttle to get from one point to the other or walking which didn't work well in ski boots. Had to shield my daughter from a couple of guys on one of the shuttle trips who had gotten into a fight about stealing a snowboard.

Once we got at the magic carpet, the personnel running it were great and made the day much more enjoyable.

I didn't get to ski the main Mountain at all but if your going to have younger kids to manage, I would suggest finding a different mountain.
