Went on a Thursday, parked up front, not crowded at all, friendly staff, and great runs!
Haven't been since I was a kid, it's a completely different mountain now. A much better choice than some of the other mountains we have, just beacuse of how much closer it is.
Good skiing and near by. Best way to stay off Interstate 70
Great mountain, and great snow in the trees, if you know where to look!
Amazing and not to crowed chairlifts are easy to get on and off of here and staff are super friendly and prices are reasonable
Ski runs are great but charging 12 dollars without tax for a hot dog is insane.
I have my complaints but honestly, Eldora is a great ski mountain. It's not a typical Colorado resort and I like it that way. I started skiing Eldora while a student at CU and 25 years later it's where my family skis. Parking is an issue but they've improved communication and I applaud the carpool & RTD initiatives they've undertaken. And they listened to the community after concerns for the safety of small children were voiced in 2019. Keep it up Eldora and thanks for yet another stellar season!
So much fun. It was my first time skiing and I would definitely go back. The staff really take the time to teach you what to do for first timers. Great food a little pricey but good.
Great place to ski or snowboard! 40 minutes from boulder. Amazing views!
Parking for all the new Ikon pass holders needs to get addressed but otherwise a great mountain to ride!
Great place to learn for kids! Nothing Fancy. Just skiing.
I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. As long as it's not windy and they've had some snow, it's worth the drive especially to avoid i70 traffic and long lift lines. Don't expect the amenities such as at the Vail resorts. There is wifi but you have to pay a daily usage fee. The lifts are a little slow (fixed grip) but the operators are nice/friendly.
Operationally, this place is a mess. The mountain itself -- once you get up there -- isn't bad for the price and it's proximity to Denver. If you have a season pass and your own equipment, I can see why this works. I know they are close, and their slogan is "closer to you". But, given that it takes at least a full hour to actually get on a lift, you'd be better off spending the hour in the car and driving to a full resort like Winter Park or Keystone
Their system to sell lift tickets and rent equipment seems like it was designed by someone who wanted to raise costs, frustrate customers, and lower revenue in the process (opposite of what most businesses want). They have a special ability to take what should be a 2 min transaction and turn it into 10. so, each day we went there it took at least 1 hour to get up on the mountain. And, the staff was friendly and helpful, so it's not on them. It's just terribly managed with stupid business processes.
Once you do rent the skis, they won't let you do a multi-day rental. So, you have to go back the next day and wait in the really long lines again. Same with the lift tickets.
And, they don't let you buy tickets on-line either -- so they want you to again wait in their long lines.
if they just changed these two simple policies -- allowed multi-day passes and rentals, and also pushed some sales on-line, the would improve the customer experience 50% (and save money in the process).
But, as it is, I give the mountain 4 stars, and their management 1 star (average 2).
Great beginner slopes and a good place to learn skiing.
Great ski resort! Gets windy and I've never been when all of the runs are open even late season. Great place to take beginners and and it never gets too busy.
At only 21 miles from Boulder you can't beat the convenience.
Loved the no waiting lines. The only thing that would make this little mountain better would be a reduction on the lift tickets but that may make the lift line waits a little longer. I guess I'd pay more not to have to wait in line for the next run.
Not bad for a quick drive up the mountains but if you have the time the other resorts further away are better.
Even with the little snow this year Eldora was fun! Excited to go back for the rest of the season!
Ehhh it's there... It's better if you didn't know how great it was pre-copper
Eldora is certainly one of the smaller resorts in Colorado, but you'll find some epic, first-class runs when it comes to more advanced terrain, usually with lots of barely touched powder and tons of trees to go exploring in. The added bonus of not having any liftlines during weekdays is a huge perk having the entire run to yourself is a thing here, and it's fantastic.
The food is passable and I think they could do a ton to improve the lodges, but the slopes are where it matters and they've done a great job.
So close to Boulder and Nederland is a cool little town! Hopefully MTB next summer..
My family are season ticket holders and we really enjoy Eldora. This season has been over busy (whatever super pass they're a part of is bringing up a lot more people from the metro area), but if you largely stay off of Corona and Alpenglow, you can still carve out (see what I did there?) your little piece of paradise. Doesn't hurt that we live only 20 minutes away.
Need to get more efficient with tickets and rentals...lines way too long
Good little mountian ski area. Do not expect a large I-70 resort. Quaint and family friendly. Also love the new high speed lift.
Great little mountain. No traffic to get here, good but short runs. Prices are ok overall.
Very cool small resort. Great beginner hill to learn in yet still has some challenging terrain for more advanced folks
One of the last small Colorado mountain resorts... I love this place it rocks!
Nice mountain, and all of the staff were very friendly. The lodge, where you get lift tickets, rentals, lessons, etc., is a complete organizational mess. Computer systems bog-down check-ins, getting a simple lift ticket takes extremely long because you are stuck in line with customers trying to rent equipment - the whole check-in process just makes you want to scream. But at least the staff are really nice once you finally get to the head of the line!
Worst possible mountain! Terrible layout and organization! Even with a collective pass, they make you wait on 4different lines before you even get to the lift lines! Wait for the rental line, booth line, ski line, locker line, season pass line, lift line, line after line... not enough exploration signs or walkways in the rental/pass lounge. Time to put $120 daily pass to renovate and upgrade the facility and reduce the daily fee! Complete rip-off!
Got lucky when we went skiing. Mother nature dumped 7 inches of fresh powder. Even though the resort was short staffed they did a great job if accommodating the patrons. This year they added an new lift which holds 6 skiers. It is really fast getting up to the summit. They also increased their freestyle area. The Woodward area had some great rails and jumps. There is three levels so skiers or boarders at anyevel can try it out.
With the new high speed 6 chairlift from base to summit, eldora is a whole new ballgame! I'm stoked to ride here more often and avoid the nonsense that is so prevalent on I-70.
Yes there are more beautiful and bigger resorts you can go to if you want to deal with I-70 traffic. However locals who don't want to deal with that come here. Everyone is very friendly, no traffic, still has beautiful colorado snowboarding. Also signed my kid up with Trek lessons and the teachers were excellent. Right now I spend most of my riding days at this resort.
We had private lessons and our instructor was great! Will definetly go back!
Small resort, but endlessly awesome on a powder day, or a great place to go with a group for some late season skiing. The patio beer drinking in the afternoon is top notch.
Great smaller mountain if you don't want to deal with crowds. Not a lot of a advance terrain for a more seasoned rider. My only complaint is I've had some problems with runs being open to early while not being fully checked for rocks. This has led to some small core shots in my skis. Still one of my favorite resorts!
Great local snow. Usually not to crowded and fairly friendly staff. However prices on tickets and food could be lower, and on weekends with good snow can cause alot of traffic and busy conditions on the slopes
Upgrades on lifts and terrain very welcome. Nice and close. Parking a nightmare.
Great man made snow.. generally windy and cold with blue skies! Nice snowboard facilities.. fabulous new high speed chair lifts! Metro bus directly from Boulder!! Yeah!!
This was my first time skiing and I must say it exceeded my expectations! The staff was the most friendliest and helpful people ever! Richard was my instructor and was very encouraging to myself and my other classmates. I loved every minute of this experience. Other skiers were also very friendly and encouraging (especially when I fell several times) I would recommend this ski resort to anyone who is skiing for the first time or skiing at all. I will definitely return when spend time in Denver! Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Thoroughly disappointed. Nickel and dimed for insurance on rentals that covers only the expected nicks and scratches . Many steep mogul runs were unmarked and entrapping off of easy blues. Obviously ice is just hit or miss, but the updates on the websites stating all runs were groomed was a complete lie. The terrain was treacherous and not enjoyable. I recommend driving the extra 45 minutes and paying the extra 20$ for a premier experience in winter park or loveland.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The instructor was fine. My bad review is due to the lack of refund I received when I left my 4 hour ski lesson 3 hours and 30 minutes early due to terrible altitude sickness.
My partner and I are ski beginners with no equipment prior to going to eldora. We spent $360 on lessons and $500 on 2 ski pants, 2 goggles, and one pair of gloves.
Less than 30 minutes into the lesson I started to black out. It was hard to talk. I became extremely hot and nauseous. I desperately needed to sit down. Very strange and scary situation for me as I am a fit and athletic person. The instructor suggested we go in sooner than later if we wanted a refund. So we went in.
I was seen by first aid. We concluded it was altitude sickness and we were ready to leave. We asked for our money back but that request was denied.
I am not sure why learning how to stop in skis should cost $360 because that s as far as we got into the lesson. Especially to customers spending so much in your store. I am very disappointed in this eldora and it s coldness towards my situation.
Kinda small for the price compared to the larger resorts. There is a bus stop from boulder that makes it conveniant and cheap to get to.
Beautiful, never too busy on weekdays, great runs, friendly and ATTENTIVE staff! Checked on me immediately when I came to the entrance of a jump and didn't make it on the other side because I wiped out and couldn't move. They came promptly without me calling out and everyone, including the ski patrol and medics were so kind and caring without being judgemental of my fall. Great experience, awesome Woodward Terrain Park, great runs with good signage and a multitude of lodges and open lifts.
Great skiing for early season! The lines for the lift were a little messy but it was a busy day!
The staff here are amazing. Though I'm a little sore from learning to snowboard they were friendly and gave good instruction and made you laugh!
I learned skiing here in 2005 and since been regular here. What I like most about Eldora is it's proximity to Boulder. Granted the eastern rocky slope do not get as much snow as the i70 resorts. But we can always go there after a snow fall.
Amazing views. Snow can be a little subpar at times, but the lines are usually pretty short. Plenty of terrain to pick from for the front range and quick drive from Denver. I have over 10 days here this season and it s one of my favorites when it comes to accessibility.
I love to snowboard here. The runs are nice, good snow, excellent instructors in case you want to book lessons. I come here once a week at least during the season.
Love the mountain and consider it my local area as a 57 year Boulder County resident, never a bad experience, UNTIL NOW!! Charging $20 for parking is an INSULT for those of us who are loyal visitors that come up spontaneously for a few More
We stayed up there on Friday night. Left the hotel in Nederland at 7:55am. Figured we'd have plenty of time since lifts open at 8:30. All parking lots were full. There is no other parking in town. They were turning everybody around at the High School. $170 for a hotel room and we had to turn around and go home.
Close to Boulder with quality terrain and terrain park for its size, however the day pass rates are way too high for such a small mountain. Around $150 mid season, which could get you a ticket at far better resorts
Great local ski area, good for kids, easy access from boulder
Far from the best or biggest CO has to offer, but its only an hour from Denver.
I used to take the rtd from Boulder to Eldora when I was younger. Bus ride was $4 round trip, and lift tickets for night skiing were $7. Those were the days! Equipment rental process was a little crazy. The skiing was good this time, and lift line waits were short, especially impressive since it was the busiest week of the year. This resort is a great local secret and a quick trip up the canyon. Seemed a little pricey for the location, but outside of that, a great experience.
This place is so fun! They had alot of friendly hills for beginners to jumps for advanced people. The staff is nice and helpful.
Eldora is my place to go boarding. It's close, the lines are never long, the staff is nice and encouraging, and I like the smaller mountain with easy access to your vehicle.
We are newish to skiing and we had a great time at Ekdora. Not too crowded. Really helpful staff...so customer service oriented (from rentals to staff on the mountain). Plenty of green and easy blue runs for us. Plus options for more experienced skiers.
This is a smaller resort but really close to Boulder and Denver. Parking at the resort is limited but there is a shuttle to Nederland and good RTD bus service to Boulder. Food, equipment rental, and ski lessons are all available and customer service is good. Eldora is definitely worth a visit for downhill and Nordic skiers.
Great updates, friendly staff, should be a great season.
Great little ski mountain that's accessible via public transportation or car. The proximity to Boulder is fantastic as well.
Good skiing and so close to town. You an escape for a quick mid week ski run and be back before the kids are back home from school.
Smaller resort but pretty nice. Great place for the family and a great place for our kids to learn!
Great terrain features and nice variety of blue and black diamond runs.
