Came here on a Tuesday after long weekend, quiet trails, and friendly staffs. Email communication ahead trying to schedule intermediate lesson wasn't too effective.

So close to home! But, they gotta get the parking figured out.
Skied opening day 1962. Workedthe 1968 expasion Love Eldora
Small but nice.
Avoid the crowds and go during the week.
Awesome place to ski! Nice and close, just bring your own food unless you just won the lottery, food is $$$$$$$$$$
Love this mom and pop resort! No crowds, close to the city
I have done one session of kid's ski lessons at Winter Park and another at Eldora and the difference is night and day. Eldorables is very disorganized, doesn't run on time, has an outdoor staging area, doesn't feed the kids (you bring your own lunch which they lost one of the days), and is more expensive than other lesson programs.
In contrast Winter Park had plenty of signage, the kids had a chance to meet and interact with the instructor before class starts, they put GPS trackers on the kids, feed them lunch and cocoa, and just do a much better job organizing the entire thing.
Eldora was ok, and she did learn some things, but after experiencing a better program I would never go back or recommend it to any one.
I like that eldora is close and has early snow pack so I do end up riding eldo a lot witch is why I gave it 2 stars. You can have a really fun first hour at eldo until the snow gets beat up. My complaint is with the terrible ski school. I have three kids my oldest son has been to almost every ski School in Colorado. I recommend Wolf Creek or Loveland ski area for the kids
Took the free bus out to eldora from downtown boulder. Plenty of trails for all levels of expertise.
Boyfriend too his girlfriend there, I'm sure they had a great time
Favorite of our favorite local ski resorts. Easy to get to from Boulder with greatnner and intermediate runs on front mountain. Awesome advanced runs on back mountain. Great for night skiing in early spring. Was a little windy this day while we waited for lifts to open. The whole family will enjoy it.
What a great mountain with a great staff! The food is pretty good too, especially the baked potatoes! Yum
The restaurant is beyond a ripoff, $5.25 for a bad coffee, $5.25 for a candy bar.
This is such a great place to ski! The staff is amazing and fun too!
Nice ski area with friendly staff and a good variety of runs close to Boulder. The only downside is that it is small.
I loved our trip to Eldora! Like a lot of the other reviewers on here, I thought it was a great place to ski because it was convenient to Boulder and it has a very easy, fun feel to the whole experience. I was especially impressed with the instructors there. It was my daughters' first time skiing, and during the morning lesson my 4-year-old got altitude sickness pretty badly. The instructors were very caring and attentive with her. The medical staff there was also great when we went to get her checked out - Ann, the medic that did a great job caring for her, even went so far as to send a handwritten card about a week after the trip asking if she was feeling better and if she still had a fun. I'll definitely be back!
Recently moved to Colorado and I love Eldora so far! No complaints so far, the chairlift employees are always in a great mood and get me excited about heading to the top of a run. Parking has never been an issue and the lines are never too long. Obviously dry spells are out of the resorts control but they stay on top of snow production on many runs. Excited for many more visits during the season!
Not our favorite. I should have asked more questions when they fitted my boots, but I also feel like they should have asked me more questions about it too. My boots didn't fit right, and it sort of ruined the day.
Would give zero stars if possible. Drove up, parking lots full at 8:15 am, come back at 1 - how about I come back never!
I have to pay $1,500 for my wife and I to get the ikon pass, and $20 to park here because of it
A very cute resort if you want to avoid I-79 traffic
Great local ski resort. Many options for lessons and just great service overall. Giving them 4 stars because they don t have 3 or 4 day passes like other resorts have. Other than that great place, great powder, great food, great service.
Super convenient for me. The runs are fairly short, but for the price and location, it is acceptable. I would practically ride sand in order to avoid I-70. The wind can be nasty, but that seems pretty in par for Colorado these days. The new high speed lift is fabulous . They just need more of them.
You can ski here without struggling with I-70. That alone is enough, but the skiing here is often really nice, as well. It's sometimes windy and sometimes a little icy, but sometimes there's really nice powder, too. Sure, it's not the king of Colorado ski resorts, but it's way better than everywhere I grew up skiing at in WV, OH, and western PA. It's all relative.
It's a small resort and on weekends, holidays, and powder days the lot fills fast. Sometimes vehicles are stopped at the high school to wait for spots to open up. Either leave home really early, carpool, or take RTD (the N bus serves the mountain).
Eldora is worth your time.
Drove from Denver to ski for the day!
NO PARKING AND NO SHUTTLE....really?!
Small resort feel with big resort price. Great grooming, no lift lines on this Wednesday. The Corona double blacks are STEEP! Lots of other places in CO with as much or more terrain for 2/3 the price though.
Great slopes, Rocky in the snowboard rental was an awesome guide and extremely helpful. Hours weren't good since they are only open till 4pm
If you're coming to CO on vacation go to one of the resorts. This place is best for locals who just want to get in a quick half day. Short runs and limited amenities.
Unless you live in Boulder, or there's an upslope storm, there's really no reason to go to Eldora.
You need to show up well before 8a to have even the slightest chance of getting a parking spot; otherwise, you can expect to circle indefinitely before your 20m walk to the slopes. Once you click in, don't expect to go anywhere quickly. The lifts are 1960's vintage and totally overwhelmed by the crowds that show up on weekends, as is the limited amount of terrain. The lifts also break on a somewhat regular basis. If you're an expert, your terrain isn't really segmented at all so you can expect much longer lift lines than similar terrain at other areas. Speaking of the crowds, there's also public bus service from Boulder which contributes to the overcrowding problem and brings enough troublemakers to the place that the management has developed a very gestapo attitude towards its guests.
The only saving grace is it's really the only ski area that benefits from upslope storms so it's got that going for it. Hopefully someone will buy it in the not-too-distant future and make some very much needed investments.
RTD takes you right there and picks you up after a great day of skiing. Minimal wait time in lines and a super fun terrain park.
We waited in line for over 90mins just to buy a day pass. Alot of the runs are still closed.
I am a Denver native and somehow had never visited Eldora. I'm so glad we finally visited this past week. The place wasn't too crowded and was so close to Denver. The runs are nice and clear and the snow was excellent. Every person that I encountered was very friendly and helpful. I hope to see much more of this resort for seasons to come.
Great resort, less than an hour drive from Boulder, friendly staff, bus from chair lift to parking, awesome family place
Everything is Awesome
Bring your own snacks
Very slow line at the rental and took over two hours before we get to ski!
great small resort, if they bring the food up then 5 stars
Nice local vibe feeling, but don't come here if you are looking for apres ski or a mountain town feel. Easy to get here and avoid the crowds. Wish they did a little more grooming though, was pretty moguled on most runs
Awesome mountain with some excellent glade runs and surprisingly sleep terrain accessed out the side gate. Not the biggest mountain around, but easy access up Boulder Canyon and affordable lift tickets, little to no lift lines most days - one of my favorites living in the Front Range.
First skate ski lesson. Difficult but good fun too.
A little icey...I think from the man-made snow melting in the Dec '11 heat wave.
It might be small, but it has some of the best trees and steeps in Colorado
Perhaps an under appreciated resort, love sking there. 1st April and the snow is great, and the lifts are empty, no lines. Did 25 runs in the sun. Alpenglow, and Corona lifts open, some days of week other lifts are closed like Indian peaks lift. My daughters took lessons ther long ago and are great skiers too. A good kid's ski school.
First time skiing and had SO MUCH FUN! Great place to learn and beautiful views all around.
Resort lines were a bit long when I went they were turning single cars away until noon to maximize entry to the park it seems. Which might have been why it was supper busy. Trails are narrow for that many people on busy days you kind of have to just ride in avoidence mode. VS having fun and making your own lines. But food was priced well for a resort and staff was friendly.
Gave a refund when it closed early. Nothing crazy, but a great mountain
Just an all around good mountain fir all skull levels
If you're looking for adventure, a lot of runs and massive elevation Eldora is not the place to go. Eldora is a very small mountain that can be boring for many skiers. Being a mountain resident the closeness and the weekday emptiness is awesome for me and now that they have a high speed lift a half day of skiing becomes two hours of skiing. The lack of five stars is because they lack clocks at some of the lifts.
Nice staff, decent slopes and only 45 mins from Boulder!
Good local mountain, but can be windy and snow not as good as I-70 resorts.
Awesome trip. It was my first time skiing and I took a lesson from Billy. He was excellent and I would highly recommend him!
Overall a good experience for our first time skiing here. Large mountain with several challenging and beginning runs, the lifts are run well, food is pretty good - especially at the top of the Corona Lift (The Lookout). BUT...beware that they won't do multi day rentals. They expect folks to stand in the multiple lines each and every morning you ski there to buy the lift ticket, rent the skis, boots, etc, get the boots and skis adjusted. It was a good hour and a half fiasco on a not too busy day. No thanks! Rent your equipment in Nederland (just a few miles east) from the guys at Tin Shed Sports. Great ski and bike shop with an amazing coffee shop attached to it.
Some put down this mountain as not the best in Colorado, and while it may not be Crested Butte, it's still a great mountain, plenty of routes, short lines on the lifts, great prices and friendly people. Plus they have Bhakti Chai to warm you up, bonus for boulderites.
Absolutely loved this place! Just be aware of the high prices!
We're lucky to have this so close to town. It's reasonably sized and adequately run. Enjoyable unless it's too busy.
I took my daughters here on New Year's Day 2017. This place is really convenient from Denver and Bolder areas. Plenty of snow and mountains are not crowded. My younger daughter took a Ski lesson for which we had called and booked ahead of time. Slightly more expensive than Loveland but less than Winter Park or Copper Mountain.
Recently posted about the decision to charge 20$ for parking after the start of the season. Gave a one star review along with many others. Eldora says they heard the complaints and have decided to put it off until next season. Good call! 5 star decision eldora.
Great spot for some quick laps if you have an Ikon pass, but if you don't have a pass, ur gonna have to sell your car to pay for the day tix.
Horrible WiFi (which became an important issue when certain carriers don t have ANY data and my circumstances required data access.)
Great mountain & terrain, nice diverse views, good snowmaking early season, very good grooming. Mountain does have shadowy spots. Well shielded from high winds in most spots. Very good parks. Great glades / trees.
Always a shreddy afternoon with my boys. I give 4 stars, I wish they had a further discounted ticket for kiddos that never leave the bunny slopes. $150 is a bit steep for 3-4 hours of bunny slope time, cause let's be honest little ones only last a couple hours at best. If they did this it would get 5 stars from me
Great mountain for a quick day trip from Denver. Only about an hour drive from Denver.
Eldora is awesome. They were the first mountain to open up this season (2019) and the snow is really good for being November. They have a high speed 6 chair to the top, so the lines aren't too bad. From what I have skied so far, the terrain is challenging and very fun. The lodge doesn't have the greatest food, but it's good. For such a small mountain, Eldora has all the bases covered.
Best place for skiing...... Very helpful ski staff and trainer...
It is a really solid ski area that is really close to Boulder making it more convenient than other ski areas. I just wish it got better snow and less wind
Lovely place to ski or snowboard. There are a lot of trails going from levels of beginner to expert. The snow is usually pretty good, whether it s real or made snow. The eating areas are nice as well, lines not usually being too long. The seating can get a little congested, but it s not much of a problem. RTD s Route N Bus also stops here, making it very convenient to get to and from Boulder or Nederland. The lines for the chair lifts are very short. On average, it only took me 20-30 seconds.
The perfect mountain to learn on in any aspect of skiing/boarding. Not far into the mountains and a pretty drive. Almost always windy up there and not much run diversity but if you're rather new I wouldn't recommend any other mountain
Denver area's most convenient to get to ski resort. Family oriented. Some greens & lots of blues, blacks & double blacks.
Great place to work! And the slopes are nice, especially if you can go to the backside
2/8/20 parking lot full before 9 and traffic backed up from Nederland
Great ski resort close to north metro area nice staff great runs. Beautiful part of colorado
Awesome really worth each dollar you used for the ticket to Ride it's routes.
Hidden gem. All the goods, none of the lines. Shhhhh
